I explained the issues with my truck when I dropped it off. I also asked that all diagnostics are discussed with me first before any repairs. The Truck was overheating, lights on all over the dash, and rough start/idle. No diagnostics done just a kid from the counter calling to tell me that the mechanic who has over 40 yrs of experience and is the owner said it's the radiator flap sticking. I asked to speak with the mechanic and was told mechanics don't talk to customers. I asked about diagnostics...NONE were performed! Maybe the owner doesn't talk to WOMEN who know ALOT about trucks and cars IDK...BUT... I pulled my truck and took it to another shop...EGR cooler cracked and emptied the coolant into the engine. Motor blown! And btw this is VERY common issue with my type of truck. Google 2019 Ram 1500 V6 motor issues and BAM it's the first thing that pops up! The truck was blowing white smoke when I pulled out of Big O right in front of the owner who was standing in Bay 1. Couldn't make this up if I tried! I wouldn't trust any mechanic who doesn't speak directly with a customer...EVER! Especially when your front counter doesn't even know what an alternator does! Or maybe your owner should finally retire and let someone who listens and respects customers take over, just some suggestions! Anywho have a fantastic day misdiagnosing issues even though an in-depth detailed list was given to your front counter associate who doesn't know the difference between a wrench and a popsicle. SMI was able to accommodate us within a few days. The workers here were very quick, professional, and didn't try to get us to spend unnecessary money. Prices seemed extremely reasonable. They have great communication. They have earned our future business, and I look forward to working with them again (although hopefully not soon).

They noticed that my back tire was wobbly (not the official phrasing but the gist) -- something they could not repair and that I should not drive on. I called a mechanic close to Costco, who kind of shrugged me off because they couldn't get me in that day. I then called ImportDoktor (should have been my first call!). They also didn't have availability but told me how they could tow it to their shop for $125 and get on it in the morning. They were so friendly and helpful that I went with them. From there, they were great about communicating with me, sending me quotes via text. They were able to finish it the next day and left my car ready for me to pick up. As much of a headache as this experience was, ImportDoktor made it as smooth as it could be. Now my car doesn't make the same worrisome noises that it was before. Several of them said Hendrix Automotive, so I went. My car at the time, a Subaru Outback, was stalling out on me sporadically while idling at red lights. (It was an automatic transmission, and so not stalling because of a manual trans clutch.) Donnie at Hendrix took 45 minutes to explain to me what was going on with my car. I understood exactly what my options were at the end of that conversation. This was the first time they'd ever seen me in their shop. I was beyond impressed that they spent that kind of time on a person that they'd never, ever seen before. Needless to say, I've been going back ever since. They are honest, take time to explain things and they know what they're doing at Hendrix Automotive. Those are three of my highest priorities in a mechanic.
