On September 2014 I decided that I wanted to get my new car (2010 Ford Taurus). I went to the AutoNation Memphis on Mt. Moriah. This was my first time going to this location because I usually go to the one in Wolfchase. So I knew this would be a new experience for me. But because the manager Darnell was there I knew that he would make everything ok. Also, since my family has been dealing with him the past twelve years or so he has always aimed to satisfy. However that is something that I can't say about my salesman, Latravis Alston. I could tell that he did not know much about cars from the beginning because he never could give me answers about the cars that I had questions about. Nevertheless, my salesman did order my car online from Ohio and gave me all the wonderful features my car included. Once my car arrived (not on time like I was told) it was beautiful. It would have been nice to get to get a call from my salesman with updates on the status of my car but I had to call the dealership myself. I was told that my car was cleaned up and ready to be picked up. However, when I arrived to pick it up my car it reeked of smoke and was dirty. My salesman Latravis told me that "I should get my own personal cleanup person and buy some febreeze for the smoke odor." So I spoke with the manager and informed him of this and the scratches that were on my car and I was informed that I had to leave it. I was not ready to leave my new car so I drove it a few days to make sure everything was good with my new car. A few days later I dropped off my car for everything to get done and I was informed that tomorrow it will be ready. So 24 hours later I returned to the dealership to pick up my car only to find it dirtier than I left it, black smudges on the interior, and still reeking of a smoke odor. I was so upset and Darnell told me that he would fix it. He did fix the smoke smell but the scratches on the car were still there. So I made arrangements to get those fixed under my supervision and the car was spotless after that. I was so undone on the way that my salesman treated me I told everyone at AutoNation that I refuse to deal with him any further. I also informed the manger Darnell that I would never refer anyone to my salesman Latravis. He did not try to help when problems arose, never was he concerned, and all he did was told me what he could not do for me. I felt like all he wanted was the sale and after that he was done with you. Latravis left me out in the dark to fin for myself without any assistance. But Darnell swam in to save me from all my troubles and at the end made me a very satisfied customer. On December 20, 2023, I purchased a 2015 Ford Focus from this dealership. Unfortunately, the vehicle has had significant mechanical issues since the purchase. I later learned that the car had serious defects, specifically with the transmission. The previous owner had reported that the car did not go in reverse in November 2023. Although Ford made some repairs, the issue persisted, leading the previous owner to sell the car back to Ford. Despite these unresolved issues, the car was sold to me a few weeks later under the assurance that it was in "perfect condition," as guaranteed by the dealership's salesperson. In the six months following the purchase, the vehicle has presented numerous problems. An engine light appeared on the dashboard, prompting me to take the car to Ford Parts and Services on July 22, 2024. Since then, I have experienced considerable frustration due to a lack of communication and poor customer service. Despite my repeated attempts to obtain information about the car's status, I have been met with disrespectful behavior and have been labeled a "nagger" by the staff. My calls have been redirected, disconnected, or terminated without resolution, leaving me without any update on the vehicle's condition and repair progress. The lack of transparency, the subpar treatment I have received, and the ongoing issues with my vehicle have led me to feel misled and disrespected. My experience with AutoNation was not a nice one. I called FordNation early Monday morning regarding a flat tire, Bill suggested I call the Ford Road Assistance program as my 2015 Focus had about 11,000 miles on it. I called assistance and ask for towing, more than than an hour went by and I called roadside again and was told somehow my order didn't get posted. Then another hour went by still no pickup again was told my order didn't get posted they finally gave me the telephone number of the towing company that they were using, again I was waiting another hour, I finally called the towing company myself and they said they did not have a call for pickup towing. I arranged to have the towing company come and had to pay them direct $65.00 this got me and my car to the shop. This experience started at 8:15 am and finally got towed to my Ford dealer this took until 1:15 pm. This was a comedy of errors, my time with AutoNation was also rather long but Bill there was very helpful. I finally got a new tire and left the dealership about 4:15 pm. You can imagine my frustration level. Help get this complaint to roadside assistance for me, Bill at the dealership inherited my frustration and I can't blame him. All day to get a tire put on seems like a bit extreme. My wife and I came in to look at the great deals AutoNation was having on trucks. Norm Gilbert took time to answer our questions and show us around. He never pressured us or made us feel like we were taking up too much of his time. We started the car buying process expecting a stressful and manipulative experience. We learned early that this was going to be something unexpectfully good. Norm was a great listener and only showed up vehicles that we wanted. He was able to listen to what we said we needed regarding budget and showed us all the ways we could finance and it was wonderful!! We got the truck we wanted, stayed within our budget, and had a great time. The sales manager and finance manager were also very helpful, friendly, and sincere. We would highly recommend visiting AutoNation Ford on Mt. Moriah for your next purchase. They changed the way we thought buying a car was suppose to be. Hands down the best auto-buying experience I've ever had. I mean these guys are the gold standard. No hounding techniques, no runaround. They'll be very transparent with you and they'll seek to work within your confines. They can't always be successful in that, but they'll be honest with you about when they can't and why. My sales rep (Garrett) actually spun his monitor around and showed me "on paper" why he couldn't work within certain requests of mine. He did work to make up for downfalls in their offer until I was reasonably happy. Bottom line: I could tell that these guys are a no-bs establishment. They were personable and professional every step of the way. Not only was I happy enough to buy my car from them, but I also recommend them to anybody I know looking for a new or used car. We purchased a used vehicle over the internet. Chris McKnatt was easy to work with over the phone and via e-mail. We flew into Memphis on July 3, stayed the night, and Chris picked us up at the hotel on July 4. He made our time there enjoyable. As we went through the purchase process we discovered a knob was broken on the passenger seat of the car. Todd, the finance guy, took the issue to the GM and told us to take the car home, get it repaired, send them the bill, and they would pay for the service. We took the car in and discovered the seat repair was going to be over a thousand dollars. AutoNation did not give us any problem paying the bill. They were awesome. We normally get a new car every couple of years and have been to numerous dealerships over the decades of driving. This has been the best experience yet. I traded my 2004 Ford F-250 lariat crew cab diesel with close to 200,000 miles on it in April of 2012 for new Ford F-250 lariat crew cab diesel. Was persuaded to purchase premium care core plan. This truck has 36,457 miles of interstate travel. Check engine light came on last trip. Took to Dobbs on Mt Moriah on 11/11/16. Did not hear from them, called several times, only to be told they would call back. Service representative called on afternoon of 11/17 and said I could come pick up. After service representative drove round to me, I stepped into the truck only to find the check engine light on. I had been told that mechanic drove it several times as well as the service representative. The miles on the vehicle was exactly the same as when dropped off 36,457! My experiences over the last 20+ years have been fantastic. I have bought many cars there, from various salesmen, and have been quite satisfied. My service department experiences have been good too. They take me to work when I need to leave my car, and they are relatively quick when I just need to wait. My service writer (Devin Chiles) is always friendly and helpful. He seems more knowledgable than some I have experienced in the past. The only negative thing I could possibly point out is that the prices for an oil change are double what I think they should be. I took a used vehicle to get the oil and fuel filter changed. They did the work and did a inspection of my vehicle and said that they couldn't find any problems. When I got it home it started to leak oil and latter diesel. I returned the vehicle and was told it had three major leaks and could be repaired for over $3000.00! I asked them to fix the problems because it had no leaks prior to them touching my truck. I was informed that my truck had to have these issues before they looked at it! If so why would you say that you couldn't find and problems when you completed the inspection? Would not recommend this Ford dealership! read more

I am basing this review on multiple calls to local Ford service centers for some recall work. I personally had a smooth and professional service from AutoNation Ford MEMPHIS on Mt. Moriah. I appreciate all the hard work that goes on in those bays once someone leaves their car. I wanna shoutout the whole service team up front, the parts department, & the mechanics for finding a way to get ish done in a timely manner. I sure do appreciate the notifications from the service team. Text kept me up to date on the process of fixing my recalls. Two days prior to coming into AutoNation Ford, my 2004 Chrysler Concorde had caught fire and was destroyed. I had not had a new car in a long time. First time customer with the service department. My wife has had trouble with her locks on her car and this was the only place we found that could fix the issue.
