They sold me a used car and told me they had done approximately $3000.00 of repairs. The vehicle rode nice but when I had to accelerate to enter the freeway, the transmission made a lot of noise. Thankfully, we had purchased a warranty plan ($7500) that should cover most repairs. Good thing we did. The vehicle needed a new transmission. They did cover the deductible for the repair, due to sending the car to a dealer outside of their warranty program. They gave me a loaner also. Based upon all the work we have had to do since the transmission, such as the side rear mirrors weren't working properly, the heater/air conditioner blower needed to be replaced and if I had not purchased the warranty, this vehicle would have cost us about $9000.00. For a used vehicle almost 14 years old. Therefore, I could not return to this dealer to purchase another used vehicle. read more

It's not so weird anymore whenever I take my WRX in to get an oil change they just man handle my car until a part breaks. Nothing I've done to my car has caused this. I took my car to get oil change and there was a broken sensor. Then I took it in for a recall and they broke the bold holding the catalytic converter claiming my 2019 is just old and rusted out. No I think not. If it was up to me I would never recommend anyone coming here. And the fact they act so nice about it only makes me feel Like I am being gaslighted. read more

Went in for an oil change on and my car was lifted while the door was open resulting in a big dent obviously made by a car lift, when i noticed it the next day they said they'd have it repaired so i came back, taking time out of my day, and when i finally got it back a few days later the door panel was still wavy and all they said was this is the best they can do. I have been disappointed, frustrated and irritated after every interaction with this dealership. I always leave feeling like I was swindled. There is absolutely zero monetary benefit to having service done here, and it's not as if you're getting what you pay for. When my tires were replaced most recently my vehicle was out of alignment by the end of the same day. All in all I highly recommend that you don't. While a received what I consider a fair valve for my vehicle, the time and frustration to close the deal and receive payment for my vehicle was 5 days. It should be noted that the communication is only on way at AutoNation. They will respond to your text/phone messages but are unable to initiate a call or text. I ask Hector if Justin was aware of the issues and he said yes. I did try to call Justin on day 4 but was unable to reach him via phone. I then sent an email to Justin via there website but no response. I can only hope they learn from this event and establish corrective guidelines so others do not have such a terrible experience. Went in to get a value for my trade in, and get estimates on refunds if I were to trade my car in. I was ONLY going for those two things. The dealer asked for my information while they "got me an estimate". I told the manager I didn't want my credit run, he insisted it was just a "soft inquiry"... after getting my information they ran a hard inquiry and tried to lie to my face. I have brought this issue up and there was no resolution or follow up to resolve and remove the inquiry. I wasn't even buying a car that day! Avoid this place. DON'T GO HERE. Worst car buying experience I've ever had. You can't trust anything they tell you. They try and pretend like your satisfaction is important but then they find some way to stab you in the back. Nothing has gone as it should and repairs take forever. Dropped my new used car for some work they said they would take care of for us. I was under the impression it would take a day or so. Called for an update and was told it was going to be 5 to 7 days. Had I known this ahead of time, I would have scheduled for another time but they never communicated this to us. There were several other things that they didn't keep their word about. Make sure you like your vehicle before you drive off the lot. They have a 5 day satisfaction guarantee return policy but they don't honor it. As much as we really love our Subaru I would not recommend this car lot, and if I had been smart and read the reviews I wouldn't of bothered going there. It starts with no one even asking if they can help you when you walk in.. so we had to find our own car salesman. Keith Moors was super nice and fun to deal with and so were others in the building but it's not the selling, it's after the sale that people change there. After buying the car and going to pick it up we were told there was a chip in the front windshield, which they "fixed" ( that was a surprise) and that all the extra things that were on the car which were in fact part of the original options were not available to us, even though there were two years remaining on these services? We were also told the car had remote start but in reality we would have to buy a service to get remote start. At that time the friendliness stopped and excuses started. I called another used car place just to check as they also had a similar car and was that of course those things were on the car they were selling, it was an original option.. so clearly AutoNation removed them because? Who knows.. but they refused to give me any explanation except to say it was a used car ( it was a car used at the dealership not a car that had been sold to someone else) It's sad because the car is awesome, we love it but we would of liked the option to decide to wait for a new one that had no chips and that actually had the options we were suppose to have or decide on this one.. and you need truth and disclosure to decide that. We could of had a wonderful experience and gave a glowing review of this business but the after sale follow up and excuses and then just refusing to communicate with us ruined that. This is my 3rd vehicle purchase from this dealership. Super friendly employees. Nice clean facility. Very courteous. However, we received misinformation about our original pick up date and then had to reschedule and pick up of my vehicle. We made a special separate over 1hr each way drive to the dealership to make the second pick up time. The pick up then took over 4 hours to purchase with cash. From online: It typically takes 4 to 6 hours to buy a new car 1. Research: 60-120 minutes 2. Prepare your finances: 60-120 minutes 3. Chose a dealership: 30-60 minutes 4. Test drive: 15-30 minutes 5. Pricing and negotiation: 30 minutes 6. Sign the paperwork: 60 minutes 7. Taking delivery of your new car: 30 minutes Steps 1-5 had been completed during the first visit. For my second scheduled pick up, I expected to spent 1-2hrs to take ownership of the vehicle. I had nothing to finance. I didn't add any packages. Trade in was cleaned out ready to go. Paperwork once the process began took less than 30 minutes. The problem was the three and a half hours we waited to sign the paperwork. This made our pick up last almost 4.5hrs. I had a young child with me and they missed their class as a result. I let the staff know when I arrived that my child had class in 4hrs. The staff was nice and let us pick some free Subaru swag for the delay. My child loved the swag but was "so bored". Still not sure why it took so long. If we had know, could have gone elsewhere to spend the 4 hrs and taken my child to class and come back when they were less busy. I picked out a Hyundai Tucson with autonation Subaru and waited and waited to test drive it. Was in shop for a week while it was listed as ready. Without even test driving it I signed a menu sheet to reserve it for me and they sold it out from under me with no notification or apology. I did receive a text back saying that they would sell me a 2 year older car for $2000 more and even throw in two oil changes to make their initial screw up right. I was recently considering a new vehicle, and because all-wheel drive was appealing, I stopped by this Subaru dealership one evening. Initially, my experience was quite positive, but when it became clear that I wasn't going to buy the first car I test drove on the spot, the wheels came off quite a bit. They first significantly undervalued me on my current car, coming in about 20% less than the Kelley Blue Book trade-in value. Then, when I noted some reservations about a lease price that was higher than my finance payment currently, the salesman made some snide comments about the make of my current car. In addition to this being unprofessional and petty, it was unfounded, as my car is a reliable, well-maintained make/model that I would recommend to anyone. I was only in the market to consider some all-wheel drive models. I politely took their offers and left. Then came the follow up. Oh, the follow up. Emails, phone calls... I expected a singing telegram. And when I wouldn't commit to the salesman, his general manager emailed me. I get that this is their livelihood, but the follow up I received was on the borderline of harassment. I now seem to be off the list... for the time being. read more

AutoNation Subaru Spokane Valley tried to charge me $1200 for parts and services I did not need. Just before the New Year, I hit a patch of black ice going about 5-10 mph and slid into a curb. I limped the car home with a crooked steering wheel, but everything else seemed okay. The car was due for a couple of factory recalls, so I figured I'd take it to the nearby dealer to take care of everything in one shot. My first impression of this dealership was VERY POSITIVE. My service advisor seemed very warm and friendly. I felt like I would be in good hands. She even offered me a free loaner car since I was leaving the car overnight, but I declined. My car wasn't presenting any issues related to the recalls and I was told that the factory recommended updates were taken care of. As for the alignment, I was told they couldn't do the alignment until some other "issues" were addressed. The technician stated that the lower ball joint had been damaged and recommended it be replaced. Additionally, he recommended that the hub assembly be replaced "in case it breaks and the wheel falls off the car." The quote for the repair including alignment was $1200. I was again offered a loaner car. At first, I told the service advisor to go ahead and move forward with the work. I work a lot and didn't think I had time to fix it myself and I didn't have a garage to work in at the time. But immediately after hanging up the phone, something didn't feel right, so I called back and said I would just pay for the parts but do the work myself. I wasn't convinced that the damage was that significant and I wanted to see for myself. When I went to pick up the car I was surprised that the parts were so expensive. The total invoice was just shy of $400. You can find a lower ball joint for as little as $8 online. But the part that was ordered was a complete front axle housing assembly with the new ball joint ($170). At the time I just rolled with it because I hadn't done the research on what would be needed to do the work. Sometimes you need to find a shop to press in ball joints, so I just figured having the entire assembly would save me some time. It took me a month to finally find a garage and the spare time to work on the car. The entire time, the car drove completely fine with the exception of the crooked steering wheel. When I got the car off the ground I checked for ball joint damage. There was none. Everything seemed solid. I had a friend, who is a former service technician, stop by to check my assessment. He agreed. I took the car to Les Schwab and I was in and out in under 40 minutes with the car aligned and driving like new. I immediately drove 10 seconds down the road to the Subaru dealership to return the parts. The gentleman in the parts department was very helpful and got my return started without asking any questions. He had to walk with me to the service department to finish the return because I had been billed originally by that department. When the parts rep and I arrived at my service advisor's desk, she seemed like a completely different person. Maybe she wasn't feeling well that day, but her demeanor was noticeably colder than before. She wasn't rude at all, but the friendliness that I received before wasn't there. She didn't even apologize for the hassle. She just finalized the return and handed me my paperwork. This entire ordeal with AutoNation Subaru Spokane Valley summed up to a lot of wasted time: a couple hours reviewing service manuals, more time spent researching and collecting a few other misc parts and tools required to do the work, more time set aside to find a garage and prep to do the work... only to find none of the work was even needed at all. For $120 and less than an hour, Les Schwab took care of my problem.. and didn't try to sell me on problems that didn't exist. I won't be doing business with this dealership again, though it does make me feel a little sick for other people who weren't so lucky. This was my third visit to this service department. After the second oil change I called and asked for some information from the service mgr regarding a note written by the service tech. The note indicated oil leaking. The mgr never called me back. On my third visit, I needed my driver side mirror replaced. After being told the part was in... I arrived to find out not all the parts were there. I returned with an appointment that I was told wouldn't take longer than 30 min or so. I assumed more like 45 min. Arriving at 8:40 for an 845 appt. I wasn't out of there until 1025. If I make an appt , I expect it to be kept. I was told they were slammed that morning.!!!! My next Suburu service visit will be in CDA. I will only use the two Spokane service departments if I absolutely have to! You can read my experience with Suburu Downtown. They took 5 hours to tell me what I already knew was wrong and do a transmission flush. They then attempted to overcharge me by saying it was taxes. After speaking with the manager they "fixed" my bill. But it was still waaay overpriced for basically nothing. They also took my back eight wheel and replaced it with some rusty one. I am very frustrated with these crooks, they deserve financial pain from the people they "serve." read more

I had gone to this dealership for all the regular maintenance on my Subaru Outback for two years. Unfortunately, a few months ago I nearly had a wheel spin off while on the road. Turns out one of their technicians didn't properly tighten down lug nuts after a regular service. The negligence of the technician caused over $1,000 dollars of damage to my vehicle, incurred steep towing expenses, risked the life of myself and my family, and stranded us in a hotel for three days on an interstate road trip. At first the management seemed understanding and willing to to make things right. However, in the following months they began using what felt like deliberate delay tactics to avoid reimbursing me for the damage they'd promised to be accountable for. Luckily I had made them commit their promises to writing, which I think allowed me to keep pressing for reimbursement. It literally took months, dozens of emails and phone calls, and a lot of patience, but I did receive a check. But it wasn't for the amount agreed upon in writing! I had to repeat this process again to get a second check! I think there are good people on staff and that they typically do good work. However, I felt like I was treated as though I'd done something wrong. The entire experience was unpleasant, and I think deliberately so. If you live in the area, you may not have many options for where to take your vehicle for maintenance. But I encourage all patrons to make sure you get any verbal promises in writing. This is a dealership that prioritizes its bottom line over customer service. read more

Gail the service manager reached across us and pulled the offer back after we asked a couple of questions and called him out for being a bully and invading our personal space. We went to downtown Subaru. Downtown Subaru was able to use a dealer trade for the exact car we looked at the prior day and sold it to us at a lower price then Autonation. I emailed downtown in the morning, filled out the credit application online and was at Subaru downtown at 2 and was out by 3. Downtown even removed some surface scratches that I had noticed the prior day at Autonation after my inspection. read more

By far the absolute best service I've ever had. My husband and I went to see about trading in our 2015 Ford Focus since our little family has grown. I had no intention of just going to 1 car lot but the customer service Desean is provided was AMAZING! He asked open ended questions to help figure out what i wanted and needed in a new vehicle. Not only did he provide excellent customer service but not once was he the stereotypical pushy car salesman that just wanted to make the most off of you! The entire process was easy, which I'm definitely not used to. He even cleaned and sanitized the vehicle before i took it home, usually the lot guys do it (but they were backed up). If you're looking for a vehicle definitely go here, every single person we came into contact with was so friendly and polite. We pre-ordered a Subaru (with cars selling as fast as they are right now.) To do this, they asked for a $500. deposit, which they collected. They told us it could be refunded if we decided not to purchase. Our vehicle was supposed to come Sept. 5th. I got a call from Tyler, our sales guy, saying it was delayed 3 weeks. With this news, we decided to go to Subaru Downtown and found a car there instead that was available. We've made attempts 3 TIMES this week asking for a refund and trying to get in touch with their finance team. They continue to blow us off and pretend there is no one there who can help. I just bought a Subaru last spring. It was time for the first oil change. I know! I'll take it to the dealer for the first one. NO, $120 for oil change is not good. They didn't even fill the windshield wash reservoir. What else didn't get done or checked? After paying the bill, I was wondering about a recall I'd read about. She checks it out and says there is and we make an appointment. 1 month out. So I take it in yesterday at the agreed upon time, give her the keys and go out to get in my ride home. She comes running out waving at me. Wait what! There is no recall that she can find for my car! We go in and check it out. Yep, no applicable recalls. So then I got accused of making an appt without just cause! LMAO, I was not happy. I straightened out her recollection of the events that led to this travesty. Still no admission of guilt. Bought a 2018 Forester yesterday and it was an excellent experience. I helped my daughter buy a car here several years ago and returned because that was also a good experience. My salesperson was Tyler and I would recommend him. I spoke to other Subaru dealerships initially but was not impressed. They keep me on the hook for two days and then gave me some B.S statement of why they couldn't ship it to me. Went to auto nation in Spokane valley to look at a different Forester and told andy about my experience. He talked to another employee and they said they could get me the forester in seattle. 1 week later it was in Spokane valley. I now have the forester I wanted. Should of went there first. Took my car in to have the oil pan resealed and was quoted under in the 350 range. When I arrived the price had jumped to 430 because they "had" to include the price of an oil change... I had also brought the car in for diagnostic on a rattling noise near the turbo. The diagnostic was 99 dollars but hours later I was called and they said they needed to do more which would bring the diagnostic fee to $270. What they failed to mention was they wanted to charge an extra $270 on top of the $99. After all of their diagnostics they determined I needed a new turbo charger claiming it had shaft play in which the OEM part was nearly $1,800(you can buy an OEM turbo online for $600) they also wanted to charge for a turbo inlet pipe for $1,500 ( including $500 for a $200 part and $800 for labor. They also said I needed new catalytic converters which was quoted at nearly $3,200. The total quote I was given was 8,000 in repairs. Most of the parts were marked up on their original price. The way the person who diagnosed my car wrote everything up, didn't seem like they knew what they were talking about. I then took my car to a Subaru performance shop who rechecked everything. My turbo was completely fine with NO shaft play. My turbo inlet hose was not bad. And only one of my catalytic converters needed replacement. I was out the door there for an 8th of that I was quoted at the dealership. I will never take my Subaru back to this dealership. They claimed things were bad when they weren't thinking I would just pay them. Who knows how many other people have been told parts were bad when they weren't. read more

I've had my Subaru Crosstrek for a couple of years now. In that time, I've had to REPLACE 2 windshields. I've never replaced a windshield in my 34 years of driving. Guess what? Extended warranty doesn't cover it because of WHERE the break started in the windshield. Internet searches clearly show other owners experiencing this issue. This car is too expensive to own since it costs $800 a year in new windshields because the Eyesight needs to be calibrated. Sell it? Unfortunately, I took an extended warranty and prepaid some oil changes. If I sell the car, my oil changes don't go with me. Not even if I buy a new Subaru from the same dealership. In short, my bad for getting suckered. Autonation's bad for not caring less about me as a customer to make things right.
