When I pulled out my checkbook to pay with instead, they said they wouldn't accept my check and that paying with my card and accepting the 3% fee was my only option short of paying with cash, and my ride had already left. EVERYTHING about this experience with Corwin was worse than when it was Gus Johnson Ford. It's now corporate greed and indifference instead of the folksy, down-home service it was for me for 20 years with Gus Johnson. I won't be going back there.

Customer service representatives are pleasant, and they have always done a good job with my vehicle. I always feel as though they don't try to up sell, which is always a pain to deal with. The mechanics just do what they are asked to do. I was getting an oil change once here after having my winter tires changed from a well known tire place (who had tried desperately to sell me new tires), and when I asked Larry Miller if I needed new tires, the answer was completely different--nope. In fact, I drove on those tires for two more years.

I understand that diagnosing intermittent issues can take time, but after waiting all day, I expected much better communication, updates, and progress. What made the experience even worse was what happened when my 6-year-old Black son and I first arrived. An older white employee looked at my son and said, "Oh, are you the guy we hired to clean the floors? We pay a nickel an hour." I found that comment completely inappropriate and offensive to say to a young child. It immediately made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
