ZERO STARS This used to be my trusted mechanic and I'm so upset I have to write this but I don't want anyone to deal with what I'm dealing with. I bought my mini cooper from this business and the experience was great! I subsequently took my car into Bill every time and thought he was honest and had integrity. As single woman, I had other mechanics present as untrustworthy so it was wonderful find an honest dealership. NOPE! My mini cooper is now almost destroyed because of their shoddy work and I'm out thousands of dollars and I've had the run around. Below is part of the complaint I've made to both the BBB and Attorney Generals Office. We are waiting on a response from the business to determine if small claims court is next to recoup our losses. He installed after market parts in my car repeatedly with repairs lasting barely two years. THERE IS A PATTERN HERE OF CHEAP PARTS, NO ACCOUNTABILITY, MYSTERY CHARGES AND ZERO TRANSPARENCY. HE WILL PUT IN CHEAP AFTER MARKET PARTS THAT WILL CRAP OUT IN ABOUT TWO YEARS AND DESTROY YOUR ENGINE. BELOW IS PART OF THE LEGAL FILINGS WITH BBB AND ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE : I am writing to formally demand immediate resolution regarding the defective turbo installation and associated damages to my vehicle, which directly stem from your shop's substandard workmanship and repeated use of faulty parts. This is not the first time I have been left to bear the financial and emotional burden of your shop's negligence, and I will not tolerate this pattern any longer. The Facts Defective Turbo Installation and Catastrophic Damage: The turbo installed in my vehicle has suffered a catastrophic failure in just over two years, despite the fact that I rarely drive my car. The failure has caused 3 liters of oil to pour into the catalytic converter and seep into the tubing, leaving my vehicle in a disastrous state and requiring extensive corrective work. History of Shoddy Workmanship and Defective Parts: You replaced the valve cover, but that repair barely lasted two years before the part failed. Despite the warranty, I was forced to cover out-of-pocket expenses that should have been fully covered. Now, the turbo you selected and installed--a critical component--has proven equally unreliable, further demonstrating a troubling trend of subpar repairs. Lack of Transparency: Despite my repeated requests, you have failed to provide a receipt or clear documentation for the turbo's cost. The only receipt you've shown is for $298 for mounting pieces, leaving $702 unaccounted for in the $1,000 charged. Your refusal to provide basic documentation raises serious questions about transparency and accountability. Negligence in Professional Standards: Your shop's continued reliance on parts that do not meet quality standards, coupled with inadequate accountability for failures, has cost me time, money, and trust. You've stated in the past that you operate with integrity and "family values." Yet, this is the second time I've had to deal with defective parts from your shop, and the financial and emotional toll is staggering. You've acknowledged the turbo failure may be covered under warranty, but even so, this situation highlights the systemic issues with your choice of parts and service quality. read more

HORRIBLE DEALERSHIP! I could go on and on about how much this dealership has caused our family the worst experience with cars in the last two years. I would NEVER recommend them, they do shotty work, and con artists when it comes to selling you "reliable" cars and doing "reliable" work to maintenance those cars. The amount of times they put our family in true dangerous situations is ridiculous. And them pushing these crappy warranties on you is bogus. They even submit false claims to the warranty company, get their replacement parts from junk yards, and don't even complete work that they then bill you for. The only reason we continued to bring our car for maintenance with them was because we wanted it covered under the warranty. OH! And they claimed as your car depreciates in value, so does your warranty coverage - COMPLETE bogus and false information. That is NOT how warranties work. Within the last year, Car Emporium "completed" maintenance on our car to "fix" it, billed the warranty company and us as well for false work. I kid you not, just 2 months after they "completed" their work, it died on the side of the road on two separate occasions. Both times, we took it back to our trusted mechanic who did the same work all over again that we had already thought was done by Car Emporium, so even more money out the door. It is absolutely ridiculous, and I will say it until I am blue in the face - DO NOT EVERRRRR buy cars from this dealership!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

The owner, Bill, has owned this business for decades and he and his son stand up to their reputation as honest and knowledgeable. Our Toyota Tundra was at a very good price and runs beautifully. Car Emporium was very relaxed and low key working with me while I lined up the financing. Years ago I was interested in purchasing a vehicle from them. They informed me they were looking into a problem it may have. A few days later they informed me they wouldn't feel good about selling a vehicle that may have an intermittent problem. Any other place may have with held that information. They are honest and up front. With the vehicle I bought last week, they didn't push the fact I was buying the fully loaded model with every option, and didn't price it as such. My next vehicle I buy I will be certain to come back to my first choice auto seller. read more

Was visiting from Seattle. At noon my car broke down. New alternator needed. They had it fixed by 1:30 PM and had me on the road so that I wouldn't be late for work. These mechanics are true angels and have a sense of compassion that almost no mechanics have. They had a two day waiting list and they still helped me in a very very timely manner after I explained my situation and how I had to get back to Seattle by the same day. I would urge everyone to give this place a shot if you ever need anything done to your car or if you need a really good used car :-) read more

My review may be a bit skewed, as I've known Bill and his family for most of my life. With that said, Bill has owned this business as far as I've known him, and he runs it with integrity and passion. My wife and I both purchased our current vehicles from him - she purchased her '99 VW Jetta there over 5 years, and we still have it and it's run well with very few issues over the years. I recently purchased an '07 BMW 3 series from him, and I couldn't be happier with it. There was a good selection of cars on the lot, and I lucked out with the bimmer - it was exactly what I wanted. I recently bought my newest car from Gary over at Car Emporium, a gorgeous PT Cruiser! The whole process actually took a couple of weeks as I poured over various cars in the area, trying to pick the right one, but I kept coming back to the PT. I had called them several times over the course of my hunt, always speaking with Gary, and always had the very best experience. He was very helpful without being pushy and overbearing. When we finally came down for the sale, he knew me right away, handed me the keys for my test drive, and we were off! While we were out, the check engine light did come on, we brought it back in, and the problem - a tiny little split rubber cap from a vacuum something-or-other on the turbo - was taken care of very quickly, and the car given a clean bill of health! While we waited, Bill - the owner - was very accommodating, very friendly, and very aware and knowledgeable about the cars on his lot! These folks are great! Friendly, down to earth, NOT pushy and fake. My rig started having trouble after I picked it up from them, but they honored their guarantee/warranty and bent over backwards to fix it. Even gave me a loaner while I waited to get my rig fixed. I had been shopping for a specific kind of vehicle for about six months (older SUV with AWD and at least 64" of length in the storage area). Apart from that search, though, is the fact that the Car Emporium is three blocks from my office. And I am a motorhead, so have talked to Bill and son Matt for a few years about cars, the car biz, etc. I dropped in last week and they had a 2007 Hyundai Veracruz on the lot. That particular car was not on my radar until I drove one a few weeks ago in a different city. Then I read the 2007 Motor Trend review of that car vs. the Lexus RX350 - they were very close. Then I read the Kelly Blue Book feedback on the car - about 95% were very positive. So I drove the car and had it inspected, pointed out some problems, and made a fair offer, not far off from the NADA suggested $. (By the way, he had a chance to sell the car to another party, but knew I was scheduling an inspection, and held off.) The offer was accepted, but Bill had to do a few things...it was three or four days before I could pick it up. When I got there, not only had he done the repairs needed, but several others not even mentioned. He was very open about many things he could have concealed. Do not expect to steal a car from Bill. 32 years in the business means that such an event simply will not occur. As with any purchase, caveat emptor...look closely at everything and have an inspection done. But you can expect candid honesty and a fair deal. Great folks! read more

Just bought a Lexus from Bill at Car Emporium. What a wonderful experience. My wife, daughter and I drove almost two hours to get to CE in Spokane, not knowing what to expect. What we found was a car that was exactly as advertised and as described on the phone. We also found Bill, the owner, who was a great pleasure to work with and his son Matt, also a great guy. We test drove the Lexus and heard a noise while going over a bump. Bill had his mechanic, Dan, track down the noise for a couple of hours. It turned out to be a loose screw on the rear bumper cover. The cool part was that Bill wouldn't let us leave with the car until the problem was solved. The process was seamless and painless, the price was fair and the service was excellent! bought a 2006 mercedes ml350 a little over a year ago, part of the deal was that they replace the front wheel bearings. well 9000 miles later they failed. they offered to relace only the side that failed for $150. i can't help but think that if it was done right the first time or done at all i would be happy. les scwab will do the same job for $200 with a three year warranty. as a business owner i can say this is not how you get customers to come buy another car from you. read more
