I've used this shop over 10 years for smog on my cars and loved them- now when I go into get a smog only they do a complete over haul of my car and handed me a 3,000 repairs needed on my 2017 Subaru that is well maintained and has a mechanic I use to service it - I questions why they are now checking things on my car -they said it's required with the smog and handed me a free oil change and 10 percent off whatever quote I got - - 2 days later chris the owner calls to see if I made it home with the my car and to please check with them concerned with my safety - I'm in my 70's and now upset thinking my car is not safe. I take my car to "my" mechanic shop to verify the ball joints and arm , valve cover leak I supposedly have - nothing -- all is secure - he could have agreed and charged me - he did not - I had a feeling with this new write up of services and hearing the reception lady upset they had to return my car with no repairs done things now changed . They had also quoted me $674.00 to change 4 spark plugs - $577.00 of that labor -being an older women and asking for a smog only - i felt very unsafe using this shop - I wont be back . read more

I didn't have to wait an hour plus for the smog to be completed, and the office was clean, unlike other places! I took my car for smog repair work and was told about a lot of things that needed doing that did not need to be done, I asked if they needed to be and they said yes so I said OK, then when we picked up the car my husband and two mechanics said most of those items did not need to be done to the car. I take good care of my car, a 2016 mustang that looks brand new and they just completely took advantage of me. It was explained that they go over the car completely, well I might have had them done a couple at a time, instead of being hit with a $2500 bill that I can't pay all at one time. read more

I have been a highly satisfied customer of BMR auto repair for well over a decade. They referred me to AUTOTEK for my smog needs. I own a VERY old 28ft Ford 350 econoline van framed RV. As you can imagine, it, at this age, needs constant TLC. After years of "smog shops" FAILING to provide efficient services, BMR led me to AUTOTEK. AUTOTEK went ABOVE AND BEYOND when smogging my ancient machine. Most places only smog, and those that make repairs, charge A LOT extra. AUTOTEK, found a few fundamental problems with the emissions systems and because they were minor, they made adjustments WITHOUT adding to the basic charge for smog. I can't promise they can always do this for everyone, because all vehicles are different, but this earned them my repeat business. For seven years now, I take all five of my vehicles to them, because I don't have to scrap my old ( yet quite functional ) Motorhome, and replace it with what these days would be a six figure machine. It's not a stretch to say the have saved me multiple tens of thousands of dollars by being able to keep my old machine legal to operate. I took my car in for a smog and during the check the advised I had a hose leaking coolant and I never saw it. They replaced the hose and checked for anymore leaks. They found none. I went in for a smog and they tied to charge me $95 to get it done on a 1995 Honda Civic. I told them that I came in before so I knew the price before hand and they still had the audacity to say that price to me. Only a year had passed and I thought well maybe the price went up. While I was waiting I started to doubt the price would go up that much from my last smog and began to call around at other places and got far better prices by more than half even some accepted coupons online. I didn't even talk to the lady at the desk and went out and told him to end the test because i don't want to do business here and that they charge way to much. He was nice and understanding. I'm not really one to cry racism but seeing other reviews on here having pleasant experiences differ from mine makes me question what could have been the reason? They also send your information to the DMV, no need to do it yourself :) At first, it was a bit difficult to locate them - but they're literally right across the street from Antelope Pick & Pull, in a BRIGHT YELLOW building. You can't miss it! These people are super honest - right when I pulled up, an attendant hurriedly greeted me, and helped me find my registration (shoot, I have no idea what it looked like). I usually keep emergency money in my glove compartment - he saw it, and warned me to keep it, so nobody takes it. NICE GUY! There are very few pass or don't pay smog places, this might be the last one! my car failed the first time by only 2 points, I did three minor fixes and they passed it two weeks later.
