I have been taking my cars here since I moved in this region. This location is friendly and quick. They can get you out in less than 15 minutes. If your car has issues, they will advise of the issue. They are STAR Test Certified. They are not a SMOG Test & Repair Company. TEST only. If your car fails you need to visit a Test & Repair facility. Many think SMOG n' Go can do this. They do not. Recently, I took my 2004 Mazda3 2.3L with over 240K miles, to get it smogged once again. The first time was when I took my car out of Non-Op and got operational and it passed. While my car doesn't look the best exterior wise. Keeping up on the engine maintenance helps a lot. Now I'm not sure why people complain about this site or the retail itself. First time here. I was looking for a smog from a STAR station and got a few quotes on yelp. My Auto Surgeon suggested this place. The price is a little higher than the others, but the convenience of not driving further out towards Sac is worth it. Yelp or their website have $10 off, which covers a little over the certificate fee. I stopped by in the morning, handed the dmv documentation, and they were very upfront about the price. There are so many options to get your car smogged, do not take it here. They are dishonest and not to be trusted. When you take your car to be smogged a pre check should be done to make sure it won't be an automatic fail due to a check engine light that hasn't been addressed. I was charged then told I failed for these monitors. After fixing my issue I returned for a retest where I was denied service because I questioned their practice. The young women working told me it was illegal to do any precheck before a test. The first thing they did before my retest was a pre check. Interesting, I asked why they do it after they were paid and not prior to original test. I was lied to again. I told the young women it's not your fault , you are being told a lie. There are plenty of honest shops around don't waste your time at this poorly run location. read more

I've been trying to sell my car and needed a current smog. The car previously passed in August at a different location with no issues, but since the 90 days had expired, I went to SmogNGo on Saturday (11/22) to retest. They failed it for "blue smoke," even though I didn't see any. Thinking maybe the car just needed to be driven more, we changed the oil and drove it, then returned on Monday (11/24) for another test. It failed again for the same reason. To double-check, we immediately went to Smog Busters, and they passed it with no problems. Overall, I feel like SmogNGo was overly picky and a waste of time and money. Based on this experience, I won't be returning or recommending them. read more

I've been getting a lot of cars smog checked for a lot of years. Newer cars, old cars, cars with CARB executive orders. You name it. It seems like there's always a balance between a good deal, and a shop that's experienced and can do everything (older cars/ STAR certification). The good news about Smog 'N Go is they're consistent... their price is right on track with what normal shops are charging for a smog, and they can do oddball cars without breaking a sweat. The other bonus is that it's crazy fast getting in and out of there. I don't think I've ever waited more than 15 minutes total to get a smog check. The folks I've there dealt with have always been kind and respectful - I've decided I'm not searching around for the best deal when I can just get great consistency at a very fair price here. read more

Highly recommend this place. Here are some reasons why. 1. They're open weekends. You'd be surprised how many places in the Roseville/Rocklin area are only open M-F. What are people with 9-5 jobs supposed to do? Use their PTO on a smog check? Nope. 2. They are super affordable, compared to other places in the area! My smog check this year was the kind where I didn't need the star certification or whatever it's called, so the cost was only $60 (that was my price with a coupon I found on their website). Highly recommend grabbing that coupon before going. If you need the star certification thing, it's like $10 extra or so. 3. They're so fast. They quoted me 15 minutes, and it only took 5! And I didn't even have an appointment. I just showed up on a Saturday morning. 4. The people who work there are very nice, smart, and competent. You might be thinking this isn't something that I should be surprised by and it should just be expected. But if you think that, you're maybe from another country, or planet, haha. Anyway, I'll definitely come back here every year. I brought my DMV registration bill with me when I went and they looked at it and had my results sent straight to the DMV. So convenient. read more

This was my first time coming here and I came here because they were the only smog shop open on a Saturday, which is amazing and I really appreciate that. The inside was very clean and the staff was very nice a quick and accommodating. I got there at 8:05 AM and I left at 8:15 AM. They are very quick and very efficient. The prices are really good as well and I also got $10 off since I did the yelp check-in, which was great. I pulled up at 2:15 in the afternoon and was welcomed by a very friendly young lady who came to my car window and let me know what to do. Before I knew it, I had barely warmed up my seat in the waiting room, when that same friendly young lady came back in and said everything's ready! that was at 2:30!
