Came in twice in the span of two days with battery issues. First time, it was my father's old 1992 Previa van. The battery is obviously not as awesome as it used to be and is due for replacement. Tech David Vo came over while we were in the store viewing the selection to explain the difference between each levels of Duralast brand batteries. He then quickly got out of the way which I liked very much. Decided to go with a Duralast Gold and am very satisfied with the purchase. Second time, it was for my own car. It has had trouble starting these past days, so I thought the battery was going out. Took it to Autozone again, and it just so happens, David Vo assisted me. He tested the battery out and it turned out to be fine. read more

Came to get a new battery and brought in my old one, knowing it would save a trip. Right away I was helped by their sales people who were awesome and looked up the right model for me. Problem was one of my cable clamps was stuck on the old battery and they didn't have the exact replacement parts. This is when Chris comes in and saves the day. Without me even asking, he gets some tools and safely removes the clamp and then cleans the acid residue off. It was usable again. I could not be happier with the service here. Err... the staffs aren't rude, but they aren't friendly either. I am an auto native but I do want to learn and buy something!!! Guess not every store is REI or Sports Basement I went for snow chains. When going in, the staff at the counter was chatting with some customer while the other seemed to be busy arranging stuff. I fooled around as I couldn't find what I want. I had to walk "obviously" to the counter that the staff could see me and asked the other one to help me. (Ok. so chatting with others is more important than serving customers?) He is slow and... well just a staff, knew nothing about the chains while the counter one had the attitude as if "if you know nothing, you shouldn't come in for auto products nor should you drive!" Well... this is definitely personal feeling but I just don't like this customer service :( Super new to the auto business but in doubt if I really need to pay a lot in this industry for "reasonable" treatment. read more

AutoZone probably doesn't need much reviews BC the choice for auto parts and car care kits is limited to AutoZone and smaller shops. But this is the one to go to. Pricing is probably the competitive so I just wanted to comment on the service especially after reading the last two 1-star reviews about the service. I only was there for five minutes to have my battery checked but I noticed all the employees were all very helpful. When someone walked into the store nearly all the employees would look up and see if they needed help. Even a guy who clearly was leaving work (he had his backpack on) turned to a customer and asked ... "Can I help you? Oil caps? Sure let's get you some help with that." And walked him over to the parts counter. Drew who helped me went so far as cleaning the corrosion off the battery with a spray to test it properly. Luckily no need for replacement. No upsell , no condescending attitude. So AutoZone management: you guys are lucky to have such a helpful staff. Employees are hard to find here in the bay area and good employees.... Those are rare and you guys have a whole store of them. read more

I could book an appointment with the service department at the dealership, leave the car there all day, pony up the obligatory $75 an hour minimum and pay $25 for a $4 part. Or, I can go get the part myself, read the owner's manual and do it myself. The only good advice I ever got from my ex-husband was to learn how to work on my own car. Well that, of course, was before catalytic converters, electrical, systems, computers, etc. These days, I take great pride in being able to change all of the light bulbs in my car. Heck, I've even changed out a fuse...which was hell to get to, not to mention it was the size of the tip of a q-tip! I could change the oil, but what a hassle, getting underneath the car to drain the oil pan, trying to find a place to recycle the oil. Nah, for that I'll pay $30 at Oil Stop. Anyway, the people at this Autozone location are super helpful. The layout of the store is very good, easy to find stuff. It's well-lit, not like some other auto parts stores that I've been...doesn't have a heavy oil or brake pad lining smell either. I was in a rush one time to change out a lamp because I was driving down to LA that day and one of the guys volunteered to change it for me. That's what I call customer service. So, we teamed up and each took a lamp to switch out and, et voila, good headlights in 5 minutes! So, there, Mr Dealership service guy! read more

Created a yelp account just for this. My car's battery was dying and needed to be replaced. Pulled into this AutoZone and was assisted by a friendly employee named Paul S. My battery had eroded due to poor installation from the Honda Dealership. As a result, the wires also needed to be stripped and cleaned. He helped me install the new battery from start to finish free of charge and even walked me through the steps of the installation. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Very grateful! read more

First things first: This review is from someone who is NOT your everyday auto-mechanic and someone who is NOT very knowledgable on the mechanical aspect of automobiles. I just want to give a great shoutout to AutoZone not just for one but for multiple trips that I've taken there to look for auto parts and also to get assistance with general auto questions. I've always felt that I've always had my questions answered and I've always been guided to the correct part that I was searching for, not to mention, if you're ever in doubt, they will take time to go with you to your automobile to see if it's the correct car part that you need. Also during every visit, I have seen customers assisted in this very same way. Now, I can't name every employee that has helped me in the past but the employee that has prompted this review is a gentleman by the name of ROBERT. ROBERT was helpful first by helping me guide my huge van out of the tight (at that time) parking lot as he was assisting another customer outside of the store, but the main thing that really struck out to me was how simply kind, informative, positive, friendly, and helpful from the get go. From my experience at check out at the cash register, to me asking some questions, to him assisting me and showing me something with my automobile, I thought to myself, this is true Customer Service! You can tell this man has a passion for what he does and he has the experience to back it up as well! Couldn't have asked for a better experience, and to be honest, just like I told Robert, sometimes visiting your local auto parts dealer can be MUCH BETTER than going to your local auto shop. I asked for a Fuel pump for my Land Cruiser. I was quoted a different price from the Daly City location ($10 difference). I asked nicely if they can match the price because i'd rather pick it up at this location (closer). Manager declined the price match saying they can price match within the company. While in store to get wiper blades, manager would rather answer phone for potential customer than deal with me in person. Three employees in store and only two people in store shopping, I'd expect some service but two employees idol behind shelving. The one employee doing his job was helping only other client in store, this young man working diligently and understands costumer service better than exalted stupervisor. When able to get service I explained that the catalog for wipers is missing and manager claimed someone took it. Looking back this sounds like a load. Pilfered wipers maybe but why would someone take the wiper catalog? This book not interesting reading! Then he offers to look it up on the computer, Make, model cool but when asked wether vehicle has two or four wheel drive I pointed out that I needed wiper blades and nothing for drive train! On July 14, 2012 at 14:17, I went to this Autozone in Millbrae because my battery was giving me problems. When it comes down to auto parts I am loyal to Autozone for their great customer service and the fact that they are always willing to lend a hand. This was the first time I have ever experienced bad customer service at Autozone and it leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. It has been 2 months now since the day I experienced poor service and I still get disappointed thinking the type of unprofessional service I experienced from the Manager Julio Serrano. When I went into the store to enquirer about their batteries and I was assisted by one of their customer service agent by the name of Dan. I explained to him my situation and he was very kind to grab his battery kit and test my battery before a necessary purchase. After running the results, he was very thorough on the issue and explained the scenario very well. He was not being persistent on making a bad purchase, he just basically laid out the facts. So I proceeded with buying the battery. Dan then asked if I needed assistance changing the battery. I said yes, since I did not have the proper tools to change the battery. So he grabbed his kit again and we headed outside. While we were replacing the battery, we ran into an unexpected issue. We were trying to get creative to go around this issue when the Manager Julio Serrano came outside to tell Dan he needed to make a delivery. Dan replied back and told Julio that he was going to finish assisting me and he would head on out. The issue was still there and Dan kept on working on it to make it work. Dan and I then figured out a way to solve the issue and as we started working on it, the Manager Julio comes out again and tells him he needs make the delivery now. Dan looked at me with a sign of confusion and then tells me I am sorry but I have to go. So I was stuck there for 30 min working on the issue by myself. Dan did everything he could and I commend him for his superb quality service! The entire positive experience that I gained from Dan all went down the drain in just a matter of seconds by how poorly the Manager Julio Serrano handled the situation. I would never expect a manager to be very rude in front of a paying customer. If he really needed the delivery to be made at that instance, he could have either asked someone else to take over for Dan or Julio could have taken over to finish the job. Neither was done!!! Also, when I was working on the issue, I realized that I needed to buy one more part from what was already an expensive purchase, to finish the job. Just my luck, the cashier was no other than Julio himself. I handed him the the part and the form of payment with my loyalty card and with a smart remark, he returns the card and stated that I would not get any points for the purchase because it was such a small payment. Bad advise on his end, usually no matter how big or small the purchase is, you should always encourage your customers to swipe their loyalty card. Not only that but he did not even bother to ask and see if there was anything he or his employees could do to help with the installation of my battery. I work in the customer service industry and I can say that I am very patient and understanding with others in the customer service field, but the way this was all handled by the head of the store just puts a bad name to such a great and helpful company. Julio Serrano is not the right kind of Manager you want leading one of your stores. After this experience, I have not stepped into another Autozone store and I am not even sure if I would like to do so. Overpriced battery and bad management is definitely not something I would want to deal with again!!!! read more

My husband went here last night, for screws for his license plate and firstly, just the fact that they were open on a Sunday is pretty awesome. Do yourself a favor and stay FAR, FAR, FAR away from Autozones' Durlast products. Purchased a set of brake pad that squeeled like no tomorrow only after 2 months. They said it was because I didn't any antisqueek gel on the new pads, I said I don't need to because the factory brake pads have reusable antisqueek metal shims that prevent squeeking. They refused to warranty their DURACRAP brake pads even though they were clearly defective. One month later, couldn't stand the squeeking from the brake pads anymore and went to Kragen and picked up a set of RAYBESTOS. The news pads worked like a charm, no squeek whats so ever with the reused brake pad metal shims. You would think that I would learn my lesson by not buying anymore DURACRAP products but I didn't. Bought a battery from them and *SIGH* ... 2.5 years later, it was completely dead! The battery would not hold a charge. They of course denied a replacement and offered me a prorated replacement which I flat out refused because HELLO, your crap battery lasted me 2.5 years only!! The one I bought from Costco last time lasted 6 years!! On top of that, they refused to give me back my core charge from a few years back even though their system clearly showed now core was returned after I bought back the battery! Anyway, I hope I saved someone from so agony of purchasing their Durcrap stuff....trust me, it's cheaper than other brands but it's cheaper for a reason. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! read more

I was so impressed with the customer service at this AutoZone that I HAD to write a review! I'm not a normal reviewer, but when you receive customer service this good you want to tell everybody! I was visiting from out of town when I noticed that my headlamp was out. I stopped by this place on a whim because it was on my route. Sam, the customer service person who helped me, was exceptional! He greeted me right away, found the lamp replacement that I needed, and made a recommendation for a special compound that would protect it. He then went out to my car to help me put it in! Well as it turned out, the back part of the headlight was broken, and he really had to work HARD to be able to access the lamp part. I felt so bad that it took so long and that it was so hard to work with, but Sam never complained. He got some tools and just kept at it until he was able to fix it. Then he polished up the headlamps so that they were really bright and clear, and checked to make sure all my other lights worked. I felt so taken care of and so lucky that I had found this place! I kept looking at Sam's name tag; underneath his name it said "Customer Satisfaction". Sam took that phrase to heart! He made me believe in the power of kindness and helping people and how we should all be more like Sam. Please visit this AutoZone whenever you need auto parts. Worst customer service ever! Today was the SECOND time I tried calling to order brake rotors which were not in stock. Again I was put on hold for more than 15 minutes only to have a guy who didn't know what he was doing attempt to order my parts. First he got the quantity wrong, then he couldn't figure out how to do something "in the system" ...I was put on hold for another 10 minutes at which point I had to take another call so again I wasn't able to get what I needed. This is RIDICULOUS! I will recommend that everyone STAY AWAY from this store. I'd rather order from O'reilly any day. read more

This is our neighborhood auto store that is always stocked with the things I need especially when I'm having an emergency which is all the time because I don't know much about cars. The guys here are customer service friendly and are very HELPFUL!!!!!!! I asked them to replace my windshield wipers they said No Problem!!!!!! check the oil and coolant No Problem!!!!!! borrow jumper cables to bring in a battery for testing and charging No Problem!!!!!! 1/30/17. 7:30 pm. Very poor customer service! Went to buy battery - asked if we could get help installing it and they said no. Two of the four employees weren't even doing anything. We asked them at least to give us a jump because our car battery died in their parking lot. Their response was NO we can't help you right now! And one of the customers in the store volunteered to give us a jump when he heard our conversation with the employees! And he did! Thanks to the customer and NO thanks to AUTOZONE! I called Sunday morning at 9:00am to ask if they replace batteries. The answer was a clear yes. I rushed down to store and to my pleasant surprise I met Paul who had a similar model Tacoma as I. Paul made the experience very informative, easy and efficient. before I even paid for the battery with another employee, Paul was already at work replacing the battery. The whole purchase and replacement took about 15 minutes. Paul put all the correct finishing touches on the battery. Paul was not only helpful and experienced, he was a pleasure to engage in conversation with. This autozone is seriously one of the worst I've ever been to, if 0 stars were an option I would choose that. Bhandon R. Was the rudest sales associate I have ever encountered from the minute we walked into the store at around 715 pm on 10/30/16. We walked in asking to exchange a part and he wouldn't even let us speak, he immediately started asking a million questions about someone who just called and if we were them. He looked at us for about 5 minutes before he would help us. Then he called his coworker over and said "hey I want you to do this return you need to do something today." Which is something you do not say in front of a costumer. He proceeded to help us if that's what you want to call it and slamming on the computer keys saying "fuck" under his breath. He was rude to his coworkers who were more helpful to us than him. He then gave us the part without closing it and my husband and I closed our own packages and he said someone else will have to do our return. Which thank god because he was so rude I didn't even want to look at his face or hear his voice again. As the manager came over to do our return Bhandon R. Was complaining about his coworker giving him smart remarks in front of us which I never heard the other guy say anything at all other than defend himself with saying "you know how, I'm very busy" which he was because he had parts in his hand HELPING ANOTHER CUSTOMER. It was Bhandon who was rude the entire 15 minutes we were there which seriously felt like a lifetime. I've had one to many bad experiences at multiple autozones, never will I go to another one again! Bhandon shouldn't be working with customers if he's so grumpy and unhappy there or better yet get another job!! The manager that night was great his name was Peter or Pete. read more

Great place with fast and efficient service. My girlfriend's fanbelt broke on her old Honda. We decided to replace it ourselves. One of the guys there gave me some great pointers on what to do. He stressed the importance of moving the aternartor out of the way before we started the job. He drives the same car. The new belt fit perfectly and she saved a ton of money. I went to Auto Zone yesterday to purchase mats for my car. I had to wait a long time as the cashier/check out guy could not stop talking to another customer. I respectfully waited my turn. Finally, I had to speak up and ask if he was ready to take me. The salesman said "If you are ready then, sure". I told him that I had been waiting a while while he was still chatting with his friend/customer. The salesman did not apologize instead he laughed at me and said "Well he is a customer and we are supposed to talk to customers". Well, I was a customer too in line, and was very upset to be taken so lightly. I told him I did not want the stuff and shoved the stuff back to him. He yelled and said "get out of the store before I call the cops on you". All I wanted was a courteous apology from the salesman like in any other professional store. I went to Kragen Autos and bought all my stuff from there with excellent customer Service. They even installed the steering wheel cover for me. Hurray for Kragen, booooo for Auto Zone they have terrible customer service. read more

Look I not saying this is a bad place to start. I went there to get a can of lubricant which is Wd 40. One of the staff members tell me that another and better lubricant is on sale at the counter. Before I got it I asks the same guy if this stuff smells bad. He told me know way no smell at all. By the way cannot remember the name of that lubricant. Anyway got it and used it a few days later and it was horrible odor from it. Now I know it's my fault for not spraying it outside to test. Anyway really why would you lie to me over something stupid like that. So next time for the sake of argument please don't try and sell crap to customers. read more
