I needed a starter for my '86 Dodoge W-150 so I wnet to andance , They did not have one in new…read morewindsor but said the newburgh store, about 5 miles away had one . I went to pick it up , took it home , tyhen installed it . The new starter from them did not work so I removed it from the truck , took it to the new windsor store where they tested it , on first try it did not work , he switched a couple wires and the starter spun , he said " The starter works " I said are you sure ., It is only two bolts and two wires " he said , " something is not telling the started to operate . " This is an 86 , there is no computer, " check your ground he says " . Well I know the started grounds through the bolts clamping it to the bell housing . I took it hone , reinstalled it , it did not work . So I order one from Rock Auto online ( for less money ) . In three days the starter arrives. The first thing I notice is the Rock Auto starter is made in Detroit , Where the advance one is made in China. So today I install the starter from Rock auto and the truck fire right up . Never again .

I stopped in today after searching other stores for an electrical part. The customer ahead of me was a flat out thug who was being rude and disrespectful to the owner, a Chinese man. The owner kept his cool and remained professional. I saw the owner gladly refund a large amount of cash to the thug, who continued running his mouth and giving the owner a hard time. The owner handled it like a champ. The owner was polite to me and spent a decent amount of time searching the computer for the part I was looking for. Unfortunately, he was not able to get the part I needed, but did advise me that only the dealerships sell it. That saved me a bunch of running around and Googling. My past experiences here have all been pleasant as well. You'll occasionally get undesirable customers in here who just want to argue. Unfortunately, that takes away from us customers who might need help finding a part. The prices here are competitive. Overall, this is a good store in a not-so-good neighborhood.

A simple tire repair should not have taken 2 1/2 hours, yet that's exactly how long I was there. What I don't understand is why the technicians spent time opening my hood and inspecting mechanical components that had absolutely nothing to do with the reason I came in. I wasn't there for a vehicle inspection or maintenance--I was there to have a tire repaired. My tire should have been fixed promptly, especially since I had an appointment. To make matters worse, I was charged $43 to repair a tire with a nail in it. Most reputable tire shops charge around $20 for a standard plug-and-patch repair. The biggest disappointment came a week later when the tire started leaking again. I had to take my vehicle to another tire shop, where they repaired it correctly. While waiting, I also noticed that the customer experience left a lot to be desired. The restroom was dirty, the waiting room had uncomfortable chairs, and the television was broken, making an already lengthy wait even more unpleasant. So, after waiting 2 1/2 hours, paying what I consider an excessive price, sitting in an uncomfortable waiting room with a dirty restroom and broken TV, and then having to pay another shop to repair the same tire correctly, I have to ask: Why would I ever go back? Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location.

Just as the sun was setting on I80, our camper tire exploded. With barely any shoulder and massive…read moresemis blowing by us like bolt/ of jagged lightening, my superhero husband got down on the ground, banged some metal rods back into place and changed the tire while his wife prayed and his three kids slept. The next morning, the chipper superhero (we will call him Trailblazer) optimistically announced to the family that he had found some fellow superheroes of the tire world at Tire Discount Center. He headed out while the fam cuddled in for some Scooby Do cartoons, and was back within 30 min. The team dropped everything they were doing, lifted the camper while attached to the car, and had those tires replaced in a matter of minutes (Trailblazer approximates 12 minutes). What a great team! It was like a NASCAR pit crew in there! Trailblazer met his match, and thankfully they were fighting for the same team. Bring your torn up tires to Tire Discount Center!
