Yesterday I went to Advance Auto to get a new battery for my Equinox. The lady behind the counter…read moresent a guy out to try to figure out what size my engine was as I'm not that knowledgeable about that sort of thing. He couldn't find anything. I finally found it by going through paperwork in the glove box. I was given options on what was in stock and purchased the best available. The lady even put it in the back of my Equinox for me. I made it to work today and at lunch I went out and switched out my battery. People were surprised that Advanced Auto didn't switch it out for me. I had no idea they did that. After work I took the old battery back to the store. I asked the guy behind the counter if they installed car batteries. He was very adamant in stating that "He would NOT install a battery that had been taken off property." I said that I wasn't asking him to. Then I realized that he wasn't even paying attention to me. He was focused on what the people at the next counter were talking about. I told him that I would be happy to wait while he took care of them. He said "No. Give me your receipt." I tried to ask again if they installed car batteries and if so, why the install wouldn't have been mentioned when I purchased the battery. He told me again that he wouldn't do it because the battery had been taken off property. I said that I wasn't asking him to install it. I had already done that. Thus the old battery sitting in front of him. He finally said that he doesn't know why they didn't install it because he wasn't there yesterday. I'm disappointed that installation wasn't even offered when I purchased the battery. I'm disgusted by the way I was treated when I brought the core back. I will NEVER step foot in that store again. There are plenty of auto parts stores in the area that it isn't a problem to go down the road a block.

They told my wife her grinding brakes was normal and she should not worry about it. Also told her her front struts where fine although the struts are blown and leaking and do not support the car and clunk over any pebble in the road. They replaced her headlight assembly with a Chinese knockoff from eBay that does not work correctly. They did not replace the bolts to the engine cover and we almost lost it, I had to replace all the bolts. I don't know if Michigan doesn't require certification for mechanics or if Tyler Automotive just doesn't care about quality of customer service but I do know they do not have any certified mechanics or body repair technicians. For the love of god avoid this place!! Unless your ok with the piss poor quality of their service department. Then by all means please enjoy getting taken for a ride.

A transmission should last longer than those miles. The owner's manual doesn't even call for transmission maintenance until 72000 miles. I contacted GM customer care who contacted the dealer who declined to assist with the cost. I have bought and/or leased many cars over the years from this dealer but never again. It does not appear that they are committed to their customers or to excellence as it states on their website. If you are in the market for a car buying experience, just know they do not stand behind their product.

I had it towed from Three Oaks and I was so happy I went the extra 8 miles (insurance would not cover the full 19 miles) Dexter and CJ were the best. My car was done in a timely manner and it actually cost less than I thought it would which was a nice bonus. My son has had work done there as well on his vehicle. If people have a problem or an issue with anything they do the best thing would be to talk directly to them instead of rushing online to leave a negative review. Sometimes In the course of working on a vehicle they can discover other problems that need to be addressed. I know there's a lot of mechanics out there that will actually trump up issues that are not really happening to get more money for the business. If a person has an issue with any new thing that is discovered that needs to be fixed, ask them to notify you when they discover something else and if you need verification or proof ask if you can go into the bay and they can show you exactly what the problem is. Some people that leave negative reviews are just downright miserable about their life or some sort of situation and they take it out on people that have nothing to do with it. Things happen; sometimes a wrong part may come in, or it's defective and has to be exchanged, or other things can crop up that will delay the vehicle getting repaired in the timeframe the customer was given. There's too much in this world to get upset about and there's always somebody that's ready to rant about it. Stress and anxiety about things we have no control of can make us crazy or even sick. We need to choose our battles. Anyway, I highly recommend Grant Street Auto!
