I am a traveling sales rep . I am 65 years old and have been doing this for 35 years . Yesterday my 2020 Acura MDX had multiple warning lights come on. I was worried , a bit scared too so I pulled into the Santa Maria Honda dealership - after explaining to the service tech that I live in Lake Arrowhead and all the above info , he told me that he could look at it on Wednesday , and that I should drive it till it didnt feel right and then call a tow truck . Wow - scary - don't ever think the young people respect the older people . Hurtful .Sad - just wrong -He does not even know how many Honda products I have bought :( So my husband said " go to auto zone " I did . Matt was AMAZING - he plugged something into my car . My car wouldn't start and I literally needed a new battery. Since I don't know anything about cars I asked, if they could help me put it on. But, since they're so busy when I came in I had to wait for an hour. I had no choice but to wait until someone help me. Went into auto one to buy a can of oil. Went to the oil section needed help stood there for a couple minutes listening to to employees finish their personal conversation. Stood their some more waiting for employee to offer help. Finally asked him for help got what I needed. Went to the front to pay . One cashier helping a customer selecting several items from the back that he had to look for . Waited 5 minutes then asked another employee if they had another cashier he indicated he was a cashier and the manager on duty but he couldn't ring purchases because he had to get orders ready . Apparently none of the other 3 guys could operate the cash register so I handed him the bottle of oil and left. There is no customer service whatsoever at this store don't go there unless you have all day to wait in line . Or you like to deal with really rude workers. read more

If I could go negative, I would. As a United States Army Veteran, I am appalled by the unprofessional and disrespectful nature of this experience, and overall lack of concern during this COVID-19 Pandemic by a self-proclaimed "Store Manager" of AutoZone. My Advice, go across the street for your auto part needs. I go to AutoZone to get a headlight for my suburban. (note my children are in the car- 1yr, 10yr, 13yr old, along with my wife). As I walk in, I am greeted with COVID-19 guideline notifications & reassurance that AutoZone is practicing all necessary safety measures to ensure a safe and healthy shopping experience for their valued customers. Once I walk in, I notice another sign, this one saying that AutoZone is proud to honor Military Veterans with a discount, whether Active, or Veteran. I go into the store and grab a set of headlights, H11's, $73.99. As that is a bit pricey (call me cheap) I inquired about the Military discount offered at the entrance of the store. As all I had on me was my DD-214, which in a snippet is: is a complete and thorough document that verifies a service member's proof of military service, I asked if that would suffice. The employee, Robert A., reviewed said document with much question in his expression. In hindsight, this is most likely due to his lack of knowledge of the Military Service. Regardless, he reviews the document, hands it back and says he will give the discount, but they usually ask for I.D. Fair enough- discount processed, but Robert keeps talking. He inquired why I've been in for 8 years and not received an I.D. (revert to the DD214 that states I'm discharged.) Corrected Robert--I am not in the service; I am a Veteran. Robert insists that his family has 6 generations of Marines. I'm not sure what this had to do with our transaction, but it's great to hear that some of the women in his family gave birth to Men. Unfortunately, Robert still made it through the cracks. Robert then goes on to insist that his friend was in the Infantry, and maybe that's why he has an ID and I don't. (The Infantry, whom I served with, respect, and is the basis of my honor with my service). I insist again that I don't HAVE to obtain a VA card to be a Veteran, as I am a Veteran without a VA card (ding ding). Now if the policy was to only approve discounts with ID, then okay, problem solved-- I'll pay the extra $5 (I didn't even check the receipt to see if I got the discount). Regardless, Robert finishes off with a super classy "Maybe you got dishonorably discharged, maybe that's why you don't have one, ha-ha-ha". That got me a bit heated, I told him it wasn't the Boy Scouts and I didn't need to carry around an ID to have served my country honorably. (If he knew anything about the service this whole situation would've been stopped to begin with). So, I leave the store. In my mind I shouldn't be bothered by store employee's as I utilize their parking lot to change my headlights, as per their policy stating I am authorized to do so. As I am doing this, what happens? Robert comes out, phone in hand, held so my words can be heard from his phone's mic, looking like a house call on an episode of Live PD, stating he is on the phone with his "Infantry Buddy". Robert come's up saying this and that about how I can go to the VA for a VA Card (again, I am the Veteran in this situation, but thanks for the advice?). Where does Robert stand, without a face mask? Directly in front of me. What does Robert have on his chest? A Badge that says to practice safe social distancing, more flare at this point, I guess. I tell Robert that this is absurd that he is approaching me like this, during this pandemic. (I wear a face mask; my father is high risk). Robert laughs, "ha-ha-ha, well let me get my social distancing". As Robert backs up, he continues to talk about a VA Card. I am unaware on why I entertained this, but again I let Robert look at my DD-214. His eyes scanned intensely, but unknowing of what to look for. His eyes go line by line, down the list, almost realizing that he doesn't have much to say, probably because he doesn't know what he is looking at, because he doesn't really know anything about the Military or the people who serve. Speaking of which, his friend never said a word, nor did they ever inquire on any questions about the Military, or my service? After about 20 seconds I realized that I was entertaining something that is unbecoming of myself and my family. When I took my DD-214 away, Robert insisted that "He's actually known people who's died wearing the uniform." Now, I would NEVER wish that his statements are true, as I've been there with service members who's died serving, I've inventoried their bloody equipment, and mailed their personal items to their Mothers & Fathers. I needed a new headlight and at first I went to Pepboys and they told me that I needed a $100 headlight. I said "Yeah right" so I left and went to this auto zone and the manager Robert A. helped me get the right headlight for the appropriate price of $20 and he installed it for me! Afterwards we had a very nice conversation about how our Sunday went. It was really nice to see that he comes to work to lift people up. Don't come across people like that very often. read more

Came here to replace some license plate lights and the man (I forget his name :/) who helped me was extremely helpful, looking up the exact part I needed and suggesting what else I might need to make the fix. Okay Autozone on S. Broadway the store manager Kyle Bailey went above and beyond. I was stuck most of my day off at the park with busted hose. Many friends were gonna come help none did. I finally asked stranger for ride to get hose and Kyle reduced price for me he must have sensed I had been struggling with wrong tools. I still struggled most afternoon with wrong tools but because of Kyle's awesome attitude and all around baddassary it wasn't that bad. read more

Owning a vehicle born when Bill Clinton was our president, Senifeld and Friends ruled our Tvs (not mine, I hated Friends), Internet was something not a lot of people had, and the year we lost Kurt Cobain, I need to have access to an auto parts store to keep my old white bull running, since I commute 80 miles a day to work roundtrip. Employees are very helpful and insightful. They keep the store looking nice (very organized) and it appears they have a great system for finding the parts I need in the back. I love the fact that they offer a lifetime warranty on most (maybe all?) of their auto parts. And such a wide, but amazingly detailed and itemized selection of auto parts for practically everything. And if they don't have it on stock, they will order it online to ship to store for free. read more
