I came by for them to check out my car's battery. They ran the test and said my battery is good but my starter is bad. I went to the mechanic, $150 he told me it is the battery. I went to another autozone and within 3 seconds of running the test they saw that I had a bad battery. I recommend going to other locations! read more

8:50 pm emergency with check engine light. Manager whose name I wished I had remembered was so very gracious. Performed the check engine light check, with out hesitation and was very patient afterward, explaining the diagnostic responses. Provided us with the name of a local repair shop. I came by on Friday, August 25, 2023, if the store owner or Autozone corporate need to find out who should be commended. Had to replace brake pads, and both Anthony and Ashton at this location were extremely knowledgeable and helpful with any question I had during the replacement. I haven't felt this satisfied with autozone employees before, and I've never had a bad experience with autozone so that's saying a lot. It continues to frustrate me to walk into this particular store and be ignored. My wife has had similar experiences at this particular store and we have decided that O'Reilly's does a much better job at customer service. Sorry, but they will be getting our business in the future. I don't understand how 4 people behind the counter can carry on with personal conversations, look at you and continue to gossip. I was witness to their entire conversation and not 1 bit of it was professional. The most helpful people are the new, young associates. The seasoned employees just look at you and then ignore you. There are no Covid excuses here and this behavior with this particular store has been the norm. I even apologized to them for interrupting their break and they said "oh, we're not on break". I'll admit it. I know less about car repair than a 12 year old girl. So the other day when that pathetic grinding sound happened at the twist of my ignition, my mind raced blindly through expensive sounding things I've heard mechanics say. Luckily, it was just the battery. After a jump from a friend, I made it to this place and was met with a friendly smile. My man, (whose name tag was masked by a snowsuit) looked up the part and asked if I needed help putting it in. OF COURSE! When I popped my hood I remembered my car has this crossbar stabilizer thing mounted directly over the battery.. Long story short, dude spends 40 minutes removing other parts in order to slide the battery out from under the crossbar (which he couldn't remove because it was bolted on too tight). His fingers were BLEEDING under the latex gloves! Fergodssake man, let me tip you! He wouldn't even take it. Even if all that IS part of their job, I feel like this guy went above and beyond to get me back on the road and was just a super cool and humble person... When it comes to something as crucial as my ability to drive, my appreciation for service like that is 6 star-ish. read more

Great people! I had my headlight out for a couple days and needed it replaced. I walked in and was greeted quickly! I asked for a lightbulb and a tall heavy guy helped me. As I went outside to try to even open my top, a woman approached me as she was leaving from work. She helped me half way and the heavy guy helped me the rest. Polite and respectful workers! Mgr Tyson/Tyler (so sorry I forgot his name) went way above and beyond "normal" customer service. My daughter & I had a blown bulb in a tail light, but we didn't know exactly what the problem was. Tyson/Tyler came out to our car to diagnose the problem, found the correct part right away, showed us how to remove (the very easy to remove) cover in the trunk to expose the tail light AND gave us tools to borrow! He had to get back into the store to help other customers, but told us to let him know if we needed any more help. He was a life saver & VERY funny! Nashville was in the midst of a torrential downpour and my windshield wipers were awful. I pulled into this Autozone to buy some new wipers. At the counter an employee offered to install my wipers for me. I said I would feel awful if he did that and he responded "It's part of my job." I left dry and happy. Called the manager and told him about my experience. Good stuff. I was in and out with new wipers in 10 minutes! read more

Hands down the best car store experience EVER. was greeted by a guy named Tom , who was lovable gruff but took care of me beyond expectation. He told me he's worked on cars for 55 years. I almost feel bad going here, because it's like I'm getting mechanic work/advice for free (or the price of the parts alone). I am a 28 year old female and know nothing about cars, and he helped me navigate through the things that I didn't understand and told me what I did/did not need to actually buy at this very moment (the guys at the dealership were trying to hustle me). I was suspicious that I didn't need a battery like the car guys told me. I showed him a little slip that the dealership gave me showing how much battery life I had left. He said something like, "We'd better check- they lie to sell you stuff" and sent out one of the younguns with a battery reader. I followed him and saw with my own two eyes the word "BAD BATTERY" pop up on the screen. I exactly leap at prospect of paying over $100 for a new one, but I least I was assured it was needed. I have generally gotten good service at Autozones around town, but went to the one in my East Nashville neighborhood recently and it was beyond ridiculously bad. Girls with attitude who didn't even know how to look up a part and a manager that acted like I was crazy when I protested that the can of spray paint he tried to ring me up for was only half-full (and the only one in stock, in that color). Needless to say, I will be using a West Nashville Autozone from now on. I just really am grateful for all the help that they gave me, especially Tom. I will be calling the manager tomorrow to say so. It's like, they don't have to care...they kind of get paid either way, and I know for certain that Tom didn't have to help me nearly as much as he did. I went in to have my battery charge status checked this past weekend (it had recently died), and this wonderful young man was helping us. I don't know his name, but I feel like they may have called him Bubba....??? Anyway, we mentioned a break light that we would fix but it would continuously stop working and he told us what the problem was and that he could fix it with a new circuit board. He checked the battery and said it was fine but the alternator wasn't pulling enough juice (??Something like that), and he could change the alternator for us, if we wanted. In the end, he checked the battery, replaced the alternator and fixed the break light problem, all at no charge and with a smile on his face. We tipped him for his help (which he tried to refuse), but probably not as much as he deserved. This isn't the first time somebody from this store helped, either. I had a woman help me with a blinker light a couple of years ago and it wasn't that easy to change. I love good customer service, and this place has it. This may be the norm at these auto part stores, but I doubt it. read more

I thought I was in the twilight zone today at 12:55. Walked in asked if I bought a battery would they replace the one in my truck. Four workers just starred at me and didn't speak. One worker went to the cash register and started asking me question like what type vehicle and I answered. At one point he spoke very angrily to me "you're supposed to know the answers to my question". I asked him if he wanted me to leave and he said he didn't care, it made no difference to him. I paid for the battery. We went outside. He was angry that he was having to change the battery and was grumbling then had to get help. Another worked came out and unhooked the battery in less than 30 seconds and went back in. The original guy tossed the battery up and it landed on the terminals, etc. I said you are going to tear up something. He said you could just go to another Auto Zone. He finished installing the battery. I got in the truck, started the engine, and nothing was working on the panel, no a/c, no fan, nothing. I told the manager inside and he just looked at me like I had two heads. Now, I have to take my truck to a mechanic to see what is wrong with it when it was working fine before he changed out the battery. read more

I have been debating whether to waste even more time writing this review as I did in this store last night. I had previously visited this Autozone a few weeks prior, for a faulty headlight. A sales associate was able to readjust the light, a temporary fix, and I was able to drive off without purchasing a new bulb. Because of my previously pleasant experience, I decided to return when my light eventually went out. I was given my options for the light I needed and was ready to go in a matter of minutes. At checkout, I asked if installation was included with the purchase. The sales associate seemed reluctant and said he would see what he could do. Within seconds of looking at the light, he said he would not be able to help, but there was a "mechanic" inside who would be able to replace my light, for a fee. A fee, which according to other reviews, is considered "part of my job". I do not see it a problem paying for a service and inquired the price for installation. "Whatever you're willing to pay" is the response I was given. At this point, I should have left, but at the risk of being pulled over again for an out headlight, I asked for an estimate. The "mechanic" looked at the light and said it would be a $10 fee. As I had just purchased the light with my debit card, I did not see it a problem paying for the installation with the same method. At the register, I was told I had to have cash and would need to purchase something in order to receive cash back. To make a longer story short, the machine was not working properly and I was told I needed to go elsewhere and bring back the money, as they would be waiting. As a business owner, I would be mortified at the type of customer service I received; as a paying customer, I feel I was taken advantage of. I would advise against ever going to the Autozone on Charlotte for any and all automotive needs, as they clearly do not have the capabilities to complete simple, routine tasks and appear to charge service fees based on an imaginary scale. read more
