I was very impressed with the service here. - I had idiot lights come on in my dash and I read that they will use their code reader to analyze the issue. This service is free. I went here and found that my oxygen sensor needed attention. Instead of an expensive repair, they recommended an oxygen sensor cleaner...a much less expensive option. - I saw that if you buy a battery here, they will install it. - the same goes for wiper blades, if you buy them here, they will install them. read more

I returned Sunday to arrange a technician to do work on Monday. Rome put me in touch with a local mechanic that came to Autozone to perform the needed work. Rome was tremendously helpful. Literally stood in line for almost 10 minutes before walking in the back to ask for help. There were 4 people that I saw working- Zero came up front. Another lady was waiting with me and she commented "Qe could've both walked out and stolen things and nobody would have know." 3 other people came in while we waited. I walked in the back and asked for assistance and it took almost another 5 minutes. I would fire this entire store staff and start over. The customer service is nonexistent. Always friendly and helpful guys working here, but they're not auto experts by any means. As in any auto situation, buyer beware. Every now and then they might try to pull a slick one on you: "I'm going to give you this to grease up that break," the cashier says while slipping a packet of break grease into my bag without so much as a head nod from me and continues to ring me out. Hold up--he's not "giving" you anything. You can be sure It's on your receipt. Tell him that he take that grease and shove it. Also, check double-check that the parts they give you match up with the original, don't simply take their word for it. I had to drive back to this location from Wimberly, owing to my misplaced faith in sales associates. Also if you order in parts from another store, they'll ask if you want to pay for it when you place the order or on pick up. Pay on pick up, because they might not mark the item as paid and then have to find a manager to dig up you receipt on their computer records, which took 30 minutes, btws. read more

I have no shame in admitting that I am one of those girls with NO knowledge of cars, so being able to walk into an AutoZone and have whomever is working more than willing to help me figure out what I need and install various things is the biggest help! I've had someone help me replace headlights and tail lights, fill up windshield washer fluid, put on new wiper blades and even tighten some loose screws. They never charge me for anything but the pieces I buy and I have had to fight every single person who'd helped me to keep the $2 tip I give them... because that's the least I could do. Maybe it's because I committed the cardinal sin of going in on a Saturday, but my girlfriend and I stood there expectantly for 10 minutes waiting for so much as a nod from the counter people to indicate that perhaps somebody might be able to assist us at some point before the vehicle I was looking for a part for became an antique. I muttered a few oaths and stomped out of there across the street to Carquest where I was given a friendly "be right with you" by the counter person, and still in/out of there in 10 minutes flat with exactly what I needed (plus a few things I didn't, which I just bought out of appreciation for the great service.) Come on AutoZone, you guys used to be the gold standard - you can't treat customers like that with an O'Reilly and a Carquest both within 500 yards. Get it together! read more

I have only been here on a few occasions and each time the service just gets worse. First incident was a while back and I picked up something that was priced wrong, the manager made it seem like I had tried to change the price. When I showed him the display with the sign he tore off the sign and said someone had moved the sign, never apologized or offered the product at the lower price (which was about $3 less). Latest incident: went in to buy some headlights the guy slipped in some headlight grease without telling me, added an extra $1.50 to my purchase. Worse part though as I am browsing the store cashier kept following me from aisle to aisle just standing there arms crossed watching me. I was the only customer in the store. I guess he thought I was going to steal the headlights I just asked him for. Next time I will find somewhere else to go. read more

There was the unexpected problem of my light being filled with water which he helped me with also. I highly recommend going here for minor things like this. Not cool so I went to this store to exchange or refund it but the manager was very unprofessional. He said he didn't do it and didn't know how to exchange or refund it. We went to autozone because our car has been having some issues and we wonder if it could be something we could diagnose ourselves or they could help us with. We go into the store and talk to an employee named John and explain to him the symptoms that are going on and he tells us "Just YouTube it" and says nothing more. I called prior to arriving to the store to ask if they installed batteries, which I was told yes (free installation). When I arrive, I purchased a new battery and I ended up installing myself. I had to ask if they had any tools and they provided me with a cart, but not once did they ask if they could swap it out for me. Staff lacks initiative and customer service. I agree with the another reviewer about the "buyer beware." I went in for wiper blade replacements - this should be an easy and frustration-free purchase. I walked into the store, but the guys were helping other guys, so no one bothered to help me (the girl) even after standing around forever. I get it - it was Saturday, it was rainy and busy, but I am still a customer. After I finally purchased the blades according to their hanging booklets, I put one blade on and realized it did not fit. My husband went back on my behalf to return them, since apparently I'm invisible to the staff. Initially they wouldn't refund our money. Instead, a guy came out and attempted to put the blades on my car. After man-handling the blades, he broke a plastic arm cover on my wiper and acted like he did nothing. Let me say it again - HE BROKE A PLASTIC WIPER ARM COVER. If I (a woman) can get the cover off without breaking it, he can, too. I got out of the car and told him 3 times he broke the piece. He NEVER apologized OR acknowledged what he did... he just tried to show me that a wiper blade would fit without it, like it was justification for his mistake. He did NOT offer to make it right. What a jerk!! What serious lack of customer service!! If I went inside his store and broke something, I would have to pay for it. I think that it is only fair they replace what they broke on my vehicle. He told my husband he would "look for the part" and took my husband's number... but I have zero hopes of this happening. I know his name is "Paul S." and after about 30 minutes of being "in the back" he finally gave us our money back. Also, my husband said after seeing his interactions with his coworkers, he was sure he the manager. There is absolutely no hope for this store if he is the leadership. The guy then asked for my credit card number.....I asked him if it could be payed for when I pick it because my Dad is paying for it, he told me no I had to pay for it before he ordered it. My husband and I had the best experience here! Our truck started giving us trouble on the road to Mexico so we stoped in San Marcus early morning hoping autozone would be open. We arrived and we were 20 min too early, but Mr. Daniel Aguillar was so incredibly nice, he helped us anyway, he even let us borrow his own personal tools from his car! don't order parts from here! i ordered a part yesterday and they said it would be in today and when i went to pick it up they tell my husband they forgot to order it! like really we had a receipt showing we paid for it and you didn't order it. what type of business does this. so now they tell me i have to wait til tomorrow morning at 8 to pick it up. well my car is scheduled to be in the shop at that time. this is such an inconvenience. never will i use auto zone again. so we will see tomorrow if it comes in the manager johnny said it will be. if not i am getting my money back! read more

I brought in a motorcycle battery last week for a simple charge. Since they were using a smaller charger for it I had to come back the next day, which was expected. However, when I came back to pick it up they told me their charger "broke over night while [my] battery was on it." This forced me to come back a few hours later to again pick up my battery. My battery was not even 50% charged but the service rep handed back to me saying it was good to go...which it wasn't. So I had to come back AGAIN to drop it off. And once again, when I returned to pick it up (this makes my 5th time there for the simplest thing in the world) I watched as two employees, including one assistant manager, tried to test my battery and failed miserably at trying to get the test kit on there. Again they handed me my battery saying it was only half charged "and that should start your bike"...but of course it did not. I brought my battery to a different location in Austin, got my battery fully charged with no complications in less than 4 hours. Honestly, the only thing that I noted that this location in SM did well was being friendly...but being friendly doesn't negate the fact that the staff seemed to be lacking basic skills and procedures.
