I HIGHLY recommend this Auto Zone to ANYONE!! I went in to purchase a battery jump starter and Raul Hernandez at the Auto Zone on Bristol St in Santa Ana (2603 S. Bristol st). Was AWESOME! He helped me with my vehicle and did a diagnostic scan for me and saved me over $300! Now I know what's wrong with my vehicle (misfire in cylinder 3)! This review is long overdue. Back in June I came to this auto zone for a new battery. I had gone to a different auto zone (store #3320 on main St.) prior to this one, but the employee at that store didn't want to change out my battery or help me jump start my car (to drive to a different store). I called this store to see if they would be able to help change my battery if I purchased one from them, and they were very nice and said yes. I believe it was a gentleman named Steve that I talked to over the phone, and helped me when I arrived to the store. I purchased the battery and he helped me change out my battery, was very fast and very helpful! Will definitely be coming here for my future auto needs. read more

Come here for most of my do it yourself auto care items. Mainly the fluids (oil, coolant, washer, transmission) are the items I get and the bulbs for replacing as well. In addition there helpful with batteries and the check engine light diagnostic tool. It comes in handy instead of going to the dealership and they charge you $200 for the same diagnostic and do not always put that against the repair. He's running some kind of a ring or something back there for a mechanic who works in the back of this autozone named Paco . Needles to say they got him doing mechanic work in the back with the promise of working on your vehicle. They made out with money on a part I never got? And never fixed my car. There's some shiesty stuff going on here avoid this place. They can't even give me my money back according to them that mechanic has my part which I paid for and never got? 10/10 Customer Service!!! Today I was helped out by the manager over there. He (Fr.) was extremely EXTREMELY NICE. Out of the auto zones I have been to, this one is the best one ever. Since we did not know about the LED light, we kept on buying the wrong ones. When we tried to return the wrong ones, he always responded to us with a smile and made jokes. I am not much of a car person, so I headed to autozone to get help with a new brakelight. I got their and asked for help, because normally they are very helpful... At least other locations are. The first guy I spoke to just point in a direction and muttered at me the part number. "It will be over there." He said... So I have no idea how the store is organized and after about 10 minutes I finally find the part no thanks to them. I go to pay and ask the same guy for help replacing it. Again, not a car guy and I'd like to understand what to do rather than guess. He mutters something. And I have to ask him what he said. So he points and mutters again. Never making eye-contact. So I ask a third time. Finally I understand that I need to wait for an other employee for help. I wait. I'm not in a hurry. Eventually I'm next and a new guy asks what I need. I tell him I need help replacing my brake light. Then he vanishes withput a word into the back. I assume he's grabbing tools or something. He wasn't. I'm not sure what he was doing, but he comes out and sighs heavily and says "fine, let's do this." My faith is so high in this guy... We get to my car and I open the trunk. Because he didn't grab any tools he pulls out his car key and begins to scrape and pry at the plastic fasteners holding the lining in place (seriously damaging one of them). He fiddles and makes noises like he had somewhere better to be. I can hear him scraping at the inside of my car with his keys (I have yet to inspect what kind of damage he did there). Eventually he just says "I can't get it." I respond, "ok, what is wrong? What should I do now?" He says "I can't get it with this" (he's holding up his key... of course you can't get it with that, it's a CAR KEY). Again I ask "what should I do now?" He answers "You can do it yourself I guess..." Then he leaves to go back inside. Terrible customer service... UPDATE: I was able to get a simple wrench and fix the brakelight myself so obviously I'm still pretty irritated, but I also discovered that the AutoZone employee damaged the housing for the bulb. I'll probably have to buy a new one of those as well. Obviously, I won't be back. read more

I went in today due to a light on my dash that turned on. I was a bit hesitant due to my lack of understanding with cars/car issues. I was greeted by Rene, once I let him know of my issue; he handed me off to Felix who assisted me checking what the dash light meant. Today we went to this location. There was no parking, and the only parking that was left was in front of the store. However, there was a black SUV with the driver door open, and no one would move to let us in. Afterwards she finally noticed us and moved. There was a male (tall, light skin with a blonde mustache)-- he was wearing a gray polo and black baggy pants; AutoZone Employee. He started asking my husband questions that did not pertain to the car. After he was done assisting the female in the black SUV he walked inside the store. As he was walking inside the store he kept looking at the license plate of of car. Why? Please teach your employees to be more professional. Hopefully they all go through background checks, because the way he looked at our family's car made us very uncomfortable. Hopefully no one has to interact or deal with him. read more

Unprofessional and incompetent workers. I needed specific part and called several different locations. Finally called this location and the guy on the phone said come to this location to pick it up. Drove 2 hrs in traffic to get there, only to find out it's at a different location. The dude said on the phone to clearly come to this location to pick it up, but the girl helping me out said he should've said to go to this other location. Well He didn't. And thanks for telling me after I drove 2 hours. And this other dude gave me some pissy attitude as if I did something wrong. Whatever. Never coming back here again so one less "pissy" customer to worry about. read more

My battery died. I called my mechanic. He told me to jump start it and head to the nearest Autozone and get it tested. They tested my battery for free. The guy that tested my battery barely knew enough English to tell me I was screwed if I didn't change the battery. The machine had to translate. I had to get to class, so I told him I'd try to come back after class and change it then. My car miraculously started after class ended, and I headed back. This time, the mechanic working was awesome. He found the right battery, and installed it for free immediately. We chatted while he worked, and I learned about racing, cars, and batteries. [I ask a lot of questions, and I like to poke my head under the hood to see what they do to my car]. I thought I paid a decent price for a medium range battery, but who knows. I didn't feel cheated, and I was not pressured into buying anything, so I thought I did pretty good for myself and my little red rice rocket. Everything has been perfect since then. I hope to not come back for a bad battery so soon, but when it does go bad again...I will head back to this location. read more

Bad customer service both times I went. If I had the name of the guy that "helped" me I would write it here. This was almost a year ago. The service was that bad that I still remember and now that I have a new car I'm keeping track of which places I'll return to and which I'll avoid. I took 2 air filters up to the sales counter & asked the guy if I needed a particular one for my car (I worded it wrong, I know I needed a certain one, I just needed to know which one). He said "Well....YEAH ?! You can't just pick one up & throw it on there" and shook his head. I was also buying headlights and asked if anyone was available to put them on my car, and he said it was too busy (there was only one other customer in line & there was one other salesperson at the counter) and he then told me that they really don't do that anyway. I had already bought headlights at the same store before & someone DID put them on for me. Other than this, my memory is too foggy about the details other than he talked down to me & was rude. Next time I went in was just before I bought my new car, about a month ago. I saw the same guy & avoided him and went down a different aisle. I walked past 3 employees all standing in the aisle just talking to each other. They stopped talking as I got closer and just stared at me and didn't say one word to me - no greeting, no offer to help me. Very weird & uncomfortable. At this point I didn't bother looking around, I immediately walked out & made a mental note to NEVER go back there again. I went to a different Autozone (Bristol & McFadden in Santa Ana) right after that, and had excellent customer service :) read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. AND THIS FROM A MANAGER. MANAGER IS AN A$$HOLE. I came to return a ratchet that I didn't use, and the manager gives me the worse attitude about the return. He accuses me of "using" it and then returning it! Are you serious??? Even if I did use it (which I didn't, it was the wrong size) what's the difference??? A return with a valid receipt is a return. - What if I used it and didn't like how it worked, I have a right to return it. - What if I used it and didn't like how it felt in my hand, I still have a right to return it. But this manager gave me a really CHILDISH ATTITUDE, and was accusatory, and it was weird seeing this from a grown man. READ OTHER CUSTOMER REVIEWS AND YOU'LL SEE.
