Purchased a remanufactured alternator from Tustin Toyota since it was the cheapest in the area and the original lasted 200k+ miles so I figured I should just stick with Toyota/Denso. It ended up being slightly more expensive than Rockauto for the same part but with faster availability. When I put it in I knew it was defective out of the box because the battery light was dimly lit while running whereas it was not before. The voltage checked out OK but I was skeptical. I asked them if there was a warranty and they told me Toyota parts are covered for 1 year. I figured I might as well use it until it broke. 1 month later the alternator failed to charge my battery and left me stranded. I inquired about a warranty exchange, told them my symptoms and VIN number, and after some back and forth they agreed to replace the alternator under warranty. They let me know when the part was ready. All I had to do was to give them the defective part and they handed me the warranty replacement. I've been coming to the dealership for years when my cars need any type of service. The location is very nice and the building itself is always clean and well kept. The service members are extremely nice and always very helpful. However, their pricing is through the roof. A lot more than I believe is fair for the type of work that it needs to get done for the job. They do offer a complementary shuttle service to get you back home however it is always very backed up and can take over an hour just to get you on. I think they would highly benefit from getting more shuttle drivers for their peak hours, but it is still very nice of them to offer this service. read more

TOYOTA LIED. When arriving at Toyota of Tustin to continue my research, I was AMAZED! Every question or concern was alleviated, almost too much to believe. Of course, the sales staff and manager LIED through their teeth. I paid $15k for a practically new Mirai that I was told retailed for $68k because of its luxury and quality. Toyota LIED because the car is subpar and not worth the air in its tires. I not only bought the Mirai but shared my experiences with friends and family who also considered the Mirai until realty hit; until the facts did not LIE. Toyota promised availability of local filling stations. They LIED. The fuel station closest to me closed. Therefore, Toyota LIED about proximity to fill up, a major consideration. It now takes me a quarter of a tank to reach the nearest hydrogen fuel station with a PRAYER as the stations frequently are without hydrogen even if the phone ap says fuel is available. Toyota LIED about availability. Driving to the next station while on fumes is another LIE. WTF, Toyota promised distance, reliability, and safety however Toyota FAILED in all three categories. I properly maintain my Toyota at the dealership paying big bucks. It's only been approximately two years yet the effort and expense of having a worthless, unsellable Toyota is beyond expensive. Did I mention until recently, I was paying over $140 to fill my very small tank that took me very few miles? This is a review of their SERVICE DEPARTMENT specifically: As someone who has gone to the Tustin Toyota Service for 10+ years, I feel the need to post this review as a public service announcement. For years I have felt like they were selling me parts that I didn't need. Couldn't get a service done without hundreds of dollars of work "needed". So on suspicion, I stopped doing the recommended repairs and afterward taking the car to other shops to see if they are really needed. After doing this with multiple family member's cars, every time the expensive repairs Toyota said were needed, actually were not. Other technicians physically showed me how Tustin Toyota was exaggerating at best, lying at worst. Most basic example was the millimeters on my brakes (Toyota says they were down "metal-to-metal" below recommended, and then I physically saw that they had plenty left before the recommended change point.....the millimeters Toyota put on my report were way off). That's only one example of many. Save yourself thousands. Get oil changes somewhere else, and go to other trusted mechanics for service. read more

I'm sharing my experience with Tustin Toyota regarding my 2023 Toyota RAV4 (15,000 miles), as it has been a very disappointing experience and I hope it helps other customers stay informed. I brought my vehicle in for a repair, and during my first two visits, I was told the issue might be caused by misfueling or fuel contamination. However, this was never confirmed--only speculation. Even the inspection report stated it was just a "possibility," with no clear evidence or conclusion. Despite that, I was still charged significant diagnostic and repair fees. The main component involved was the fuel injector. For a vehicle with only 15,000 miles, this kind of failure should not happen under normal conditions. However, the dealership used the "possible fuel issue" explanation to deny warranty coverage--without providing solid proof. After the repair, I drove the car home. When I restarted it, I immediately smelled strong gasoline and found a serious fuel leak underneath the vehicle. This was a major safety risk. I contacted the dealership right away, but was told to wait until the next business day. Due to safety concerns, I had to pay for a tow myself and return the vehicle. During the third visit, I was told the leak was caused by a defective fuel injector installed during the previous repair (March 9, 2026). This part came through Toyota. The leak was severe, with visible fuel leakage and strong odor--something that should never happen after a repair. Fortunately, I noticed it in time and avoided a potentially dangerous situation. I was told the case would be escalated and that they would assist with compensation. However, I have received no follow-up, no resolution, and no compensation. Summary: * No clear diagnosis, only speculation * Charged high fees anyway * Warranty denied without solid evidence * Repair caused a serious fuel leak * Had to pay towing myself * Dealer admitted defective part caused the issue * Promised follow-up and compensation, but nothing happened For reference, I have always used 87-octane fuel as required. Overall, this experience caused me unnecessary costs, time loss, and serious safety concerns. I cannot recommend this dealership based on how this situation was handled. read more

1 Star - Extremely Disappointing Experience I purchased a used car from Top Toyota Tustin, and shortly after, I got a flat tire at home. When the tow truck arrived, I was told a lug nut key was required--something I was never given or informed about at the time of purchase. I contacted Eddie, my salesman, who was barely helpful. When I went to see him in person, he clearly didn't care, tried to rush me out, and told me I had to go to Mazda to fix the issue (even though I bought the car from Toyota). Mazda quoted me $150 just to remove and reinstall the lug nuts. Only after that did Eddie say Toyota could do it--why not say that from the start? I ended up having to tow my car to the dealership, and since my insurance only covered 6 miles, I had to pay the rest out of pocket. When I raised concerns, I was told to "talk to someone higher." Thankfully I had tire and wheel coverage, but I'm still left with a $72 bill for something that should have been handled by the dealership from day one. I gave Toyota Tustin a second chance after an awful encounter the first time with the sales team. I ordered a part and had to pick it up at 44 auto. The man at the encounter has the worst customer service I've experienced. Upon entering, he didn't acknowledge me and after asking what I was here for, I told him to pick up an item. He asked what it was and stared at me after I told him. Then after a period of time he tells me "well, tell me the order #". I was confused why he just didn't ask for order #. On February 2, 2026 I contacted via email Mabel Stunz, Tustin Toyota, Customer Relations Manager regarding a bad brake job performed On July 5 2025 by a mechanic at service department. As Victor Martinez assistant service manager insisted to change brakes when brakes were not needed to be changed. I requested the old brake pads from Victor Martinez before the bad brake job I understand I am legally entitled to receive my replaced parts back when it got requested before the work is initiated. Mr .Martinez told me to borrow money from friends or family members or financial institutions to perform services to my vehicle as this is considered highly unprofessional and unethical. I received call on July 5, 2025 from Victor that car is ready and when I went to front desk I told Victor are the old parts in the car for me to inspect. And Mr. Martinez answers was all the time excuses and lies. Furthermore Mabel Stuntz told me( to refund your money back we need an inspection from another Toyota dealer. The result on the inspection was that a shim was out of place from brake pads and was grinding and squealing on rotor when pressing the brake pedal. Also I noticed lost of braking power since July 5 2025 as the result of the negligence of the service mechanic at Tustin Service Department. In addition Mabel Stuntz arrogant attitude in the email if I want to get my money back ( I need you to sign a signed release agreement if you want your 269.88 for inspection and 270.50 for bad brake job performed the total amount is 539.88. This is not professional from management to force customers to sign to get 2 refunds after a negligent job performed at Tustin's service department and management . In addition to this on July 23, 2025 I took the car for Warning Message: "Engine Maintenance Required" or "Visit Your Dealer" appeared in dashboard as a result of this message the The coolant bypass valve (or water valve) had failed. In the same day on July 23 2025 I received a call from Victor Martinez the coolant bypass valve was replaced and there was bad news that the service mechanic while reversing mechanic rear ended another vehicle and caused my vehicle that is my private property extensive damage including frame damage. As a result to this the management at Tustin Toyota did not want to be liable for damages. Tustin Toyota Management did not want to fix the car and wanted to hide the severe damages in my car. Assistant service manager Victor Martinez and assistant service manager Derrick Bui , Bobby Ramirez Service manager, Mabel Stuntz Customer Relations Manager and Anita Johnson BDC service manager were arrogant and I felt discriminated by them just because I am dark skin person, and thought I did not speak English. While my vehicle was 1 month in their possession Tustin Toyota damaged paint from front part of the front hood and other painted plastics of the front bumper and also damaged rear parts from rear bumper. Tustin Toyota service department intentionally damaged my vehicle in retaliation for my complaint, this is considered malicious, intentional destruction of property. I am still thinking what else Tustin Toyota damaged. Up to this day are not yet replaced and fixed correctly to my specifications as 2021 Toyota Corolla SE owner. Also Tustin Toyota service department damaged front door locks from passenger and driver side. I never got a reply or a call Tustin Toyota Service Director. As a result Tustin Toyota does negligent repairs, Unnecessary or Unauthorized Repairs, and Unfair/Deceptive Business Practices and discriminates customers. Based on standard Toyota operating procedures, service departments, including Tustin Toyota, can enter or amend service records in their local system before they transfer to the MyToyota website database. While they can edit dealer-specific notes, falsifying official records is unethical and against manufacturer policy. Service department left an enormous dent in the gas tank shield of my 4 runner. They refused to fix it claiming it wasn't them, the mark has the identical shape of the lift blocks they use. Absolute joke, I will be reaching out to corporate to get it replaced. If not small claims court it is, there is California laws that protect people when mechanics cant do their jobs properly. This last trip to the dealership was not good. Basically after dropping my car off with a recall and check engine light I was told there was nothing wrong with my car at all and literally could have just cleared the code and my car would be totally fine. There was a lack of communication with how I was taken care of and I don't feel comfortable recommending Tustin Toyota to anyone anymore. I also made the mistake of not putting the whole story of feedback in the feedback portion of my bill so if someone reads this and would like the story I have it. Do better Tustin Toyota so you aren't lumped in to the pile of all the other dealerships who get tagged as not caring and just trying to make any money possible category. read more

They have a nice comfortable showroom perfect for reading and studying while you wait for your service. I've been bringing two hybrid cars to them for regular service and have experienced two problems. They tend to overfill the crankcase on oil change, and worst of all they try to upsell unnecessary services. I have to bring in my Toyota Maintenance Schedule and request only those services listed there or I can end up paying hundreds of dollars worth of unnecessary services. I'm sure many innocent people get taken advantage of by the service salesman. Recently I brought in a 3 year old RAV4 with 25,000 miles with a prepaid 5 year maintenance warranty and they wanted to flush the brakes, redo alignment, clean throttle body, and change the HV battery filter, none of these deemed necessary by the maintenance schedule, and would result in extra charge of hundreds of dollars. On the other hand, checking and cleaning the HV battery filter they refused to do, even though this is a required item, because it would provide them with no extra income. This really should be reported to Toyota. read more
