This Thank You Thursday, I must write an updated review for my main hair gal, Autumn! It's been 5 years since my first review and well, I'm still rocking luscious blonde locks thanks to her! I think it's been a total of 8 or 9 years since I started coming to her and every single time, she makes my crazy schedule work with hers (even with the occasional last minute notice!) and is always such a joy to be around. A lot has happened over the past 5 years since I wrote my first review... I got married, had a baby and was in labor IN HER CHAIR (hey, mama has to look good when she delivers, right?!), and now I'm onto baby #2 and she has remained a constant in my life through it all! Every time I leave her studio, I feel refreshed and blondified! And it's also a mini therapy session too because she's the best person to chat with. And this review wouldn't be complete without praise to Margarita! The sweetest assistant in all the land. She gives a MEAN blowout (volume for days) and the best scalp massage during shampoos. I have been going to Autumn for 15 years now and I'm so mad at myself for never writing a review! She honestly is so talented and you will always have a great time at the salon. She is the hair dresser that will tell you how it is and set the expectation - I will show a picture of something I like and if she can make it happen, she WILL. If it's not attainable for MY hair, she'll tell me and get us as close to it as possible. Honestly, I always leave feeling so beautiful. Several years ago, after bouncing from hairdresser to hairdresser trying to find "the one," I finally found Autumn. My hair was a disaster after working with several stylists who just didn't get me...my taste, my hair texture, etc. I don't know why, my hair is not that complicated, but a good hairdresser is hard to find. Autumn understood my needs immediately. Within a few visits, she had my hair back to the long length I love without sacrificing volume (tough since my hair is on the fine side). She also nailed the perfect deep chocolate brown shade that I love...rich and dark without pulling red or washing me out. PERFECTION!!! Then I moved to Chicago for a couple of years and began the search all over again, to no avail. I recently moved back to Phoenix with my hair in possibly the worst condition of my entire life. Total mess. My first visit back to see Autumn and the color is already perfect. I have a ways to go before my hair is back to the long, voluminous, shiny hair I had before as her client, but I know we will get there. It is such a relief not to have to stress about things like this, but instead to know you are in good hands. Autumn is the ultimate professional and delivers consistently outstanding results. Plus her studio is super laid back and fun! I always look forward to my visits. My only hesitation in writing this, is that she is going to become too popular and it will be impossible to book an appointment. :-) read more

Very flakey on returning calls for an appointment. After waiting almost two weeks for her to respond back with a scheduled time for hair color, she told me she wasn't accepting any more appointments or providing services until next year!!! This place is awful! Do not go here. Autumn destroyed my virgin hair. I had never highlighted or dyed my hair when I went to her over a year ago. I asked for a light brown/caramel color and I left with a fried platinum blonde look. Not only was my hair fried and a horrible blonde tone, it was falling out and I couldn't run a brush through it. Not to mention, my dark brown roots were shining through immediately after. She does not know what she's doing and over books herself. She was working on other people during my appointment and handed me over to her assistant. I told her at the end that this was not what I asked for. She didn't seem to care whatsoever though. My hair is now recovering slowly and I have had to chop my hair multiple times to get the fried parts limited. Unfortunately, I still can't run a brush through my hair, but my new hair girl is nursing my hair back to health. Never go to Autumn!! I would give this place 0 stars if I could. read more

So finding someone to cut your hair is quite a process when you move to a new place. I asked friends and family members, but no one sounded amazing... On to Yelp I went. I came across some reviews about Autumn and was sold immediately. Thank goodness for Yelp!! This was the first time I've ever had my hair highlighted professionally. Expensive, yes, but worth EVERY SINGLE cent. Autumn listened to my ideas and went way above and beyond what I anticipated. My layers are lovely and my grey hair has vanished! I forgot to tell her that I used a box dye about 7 months ago, thinking it wouldn't matter with the coloring process. Boy was I wrong! I had never had my hair colored, but noticed that my grey hair was getting out of hand. I chose Autumn's Hair Studio because of the positive reviews the business received on Yelp. I was able to get an appointment the day after I sent a text requesting one. Autumn did a fantastic job matching the color of my hair, and adding highlights to camouflage the grey hair that will undoubtedly return as my hair grows out. Margarita also works with Autumn, and she is awesome. Autumn and Margarita have this whole tag team system that works so well! Autumn put the color on and highlights in, then Margarita toned and washed my hair as well as adding conditioner. Then Margarita blew dry and straightened my hair, then Autumn cut it. The shop is small and comfortable. I loved the relaxed friendly atmosphere. My hair looked positively beautiful when I left! read more
