This unassuming French tart will shock you. Put this on your bucket list.

If only I could take this boulangerie in my suitcase and plant it outside my apartment in Plano. The baguette? AMAZING. Rustic, crispy yet chewy outer shell, and light, billowy soft inside make these baguettes superb on its own. I could eat a baguette per meal. How awesome would a sandwich be? Or with olive spread? Okay, my mouth it watering. The baguette is just the beginning. One word. PistachioPearTart. Oh, that's three. Whatever, it sounds like one when you say it excitedly. I cannot accurately put into words how delicious this tart is. Are you down? Have this tart, and your troubles will melt away. Hungry? Eat this. Not so hungry? Still get it. Nauseous? Buy it for later. This unassuming piece of dessert just shook me to the core. I just wanted to move to France and learn to become a pâtissier. Ah, if only.

Oh man, I don't know who this Manon is (Google says it's an opera), but we certainly desired it. This was a local spot right next to the St. Paul metro stop near our flat. So naturally, we hit this place up for breakfast every day. Their desserts looked just as fantastic as every other Paris bakery, but we went more for the boulangerie side. Two highlights in particular: the ratatouille quiche and the amazing bolognese hot sandwich. Am I allowed to drool yet? This place is absolutely packed during breakfast/lunch hours, and you're shuttled down the line with people taking your orders haphazardly. Which is more than a little difficult if you don't speak French. I think we managed okay. It's a little unfair that Paris has a local one of these on every corner, while we're stuck with multiple La Madeleine's here in Houston.

Best Brownie ever. Plus a cheesecake

My mom and I came across this boulangerie by chance. And so fate decided we should discover the absolute best chocolate cake/Brownie (I wouldn't know how to describe it) ever. The texture was so rich, moist.... We've recommended it to everyone we know that it's traveling to Paris. An absolute must We had the cheesecake which was also very good. Please do not pass by without getting ur piece of cake.

So much gruyere. The most delicious €4 hotdog you'll find in Europe. Just don't tell your PT. And probably your doctor. DELICIOUS!

Another great boulangerie. This place is slightly larger than the one down the street with a…read moreslightly wider selection. It gets a cheaper rating but I thought the prices were very comparable to the other boulangeries in the neighborhood.Again they had great croissants (I tried them at every boulangerie we visited) and their large macaron "sandwiches" were also delicious (although not my MOST favorite of the ones we tried in Paris). This place was also just a few steps from our apartment so we visited it a lot as well. None of the women that served us during the week spoke English but again, you don't need much in a boulangerie. The service was always friendly and efficient. Often this place was busy but service was quick. No outdoor seating, and they were open until 8pm which was awesome. Later in the day you'll find that pastries and bread are not as fresh but even though we got macaron "sandwiches" at 7pm and they seemed a little damp from the fresh fruit in them, the taste was delicious. The outer shells of the macarons were slightly tough but the overall texture wasn't bad. the berries (we tried frambriose and fraise, or raspberry and strawberry) were incredibly fresh and tasty. I'm sure if we had purchased them earlier in the day they would have been even better. We also had the coffee eclairs and they were amazing!!! I don't care that much for eclairs as I do no like the type of bread used for them, but these were good enough that I'd get them again. The filling was rich and the coffee taste was outstanding.
