This is long but please read this if you're planning on visiting this dentist. If I could give her -10 stars I would. I went to AV Dental and needed extensive dental work. She kept pushing a full treatment plan that cost $10,000 with insurance, which I didn't argue with. However, I told her that I wanted to prioritize and work on the more pressing issues first as I didn't have $10,000 lying around. She kept making comments and pressuring me. I needed a few root canals and she was going to prep my tooth for a crown and do a core build up. I made a stupid mistake and paid up front for the crown. Then, she changed her mind and said let's wait until we finish the other teeth and place all of the crowns at once.
Well, fast forward a few weeks, and she's working on other teeth. Later that day when the anesthetic wore off, I was in the worst pain of my life. It turned out I had trigeminal neuralgia. I was completely debilitated for six weeks. At first, I assumed the pain was from a tooth infection or a crack. So, I went back, and she worked on the area again telling me not to worry it was from a cracked filling.
The pain didn't stop and just kept getting worse to the point that I couldn't work or even take care of my toddler. I was so desperate to get rid of the pain that when she said she could fix it, I agreed to sign up for $2,000 Lending Club payment plan for treatment. I was in too much pain to do my due diligence and I didn't realize Lending Club paid the dentist upfront for the work. Well, a day or two later, before I could proceed with more dental work, I ended up in the emergency room. I was referred to a neurologist who diagnosed me with trigeminal neuralgia. I had to take hardcore neurological medication for months to eliminate the pain while it healed. He told me I had to put off all dental work.
I called the dentist and did not accuse her of anything. I just said I had trigeminal neuralgia and had to put my dental work on hold. She got defensive, angry and demanded to talk to my neurologist. Of course, I said no. I obviously planned on going to a new dentist. I told her I wanted the remainder of the money back from the Lending Club payment plan that I never used, which totaled about $1,700. She told me she would hold it in a bank account for me until I returned to finish my treatment plan. I told her no and she said she would send it in a few weeks. She also kept the money for the crown I never received. My insurance paid everything they were supposed to.
Well, it's been two years and I still haven't gotten the money back. Who does that?!
She is a terrible human being. The office itself was dirty and I had a bad feeling as soon as I met her but my tooth hurt and my insurance doesn't cover any decent places, so I just went with it. It was a huge mistake. DO NOT GO HERE! read more
