Never again will I return. I made an appointment and had to wait an extra 15 minutes which initially I was fine with .... Finally one nail tech started taking off my polish and then she left to go do someone else's pedicure. I waited another 15 minutes for someone else to return. The next tech started shaping my nails then walked away to go assist someone else. At this point I was left waiting again while two other clients were getting their nails done each with two techs (one for each hand)! Scam artists!!! Asked for gel tip full set..... sign clearly says 45$. when checking out total came to 80$. Asked why 80$, women says UV gel is 80$. I said I clearly asked for gel full set for 45$, she claims that is for powder. No where in my conversation did I ever ask for UV gel. I gave this salon 3 chances. The first gel manicure and pedicure was average. Nails started peeling immediately. Today was the worst. The man who did my nails huffed and puffed the whole time, he was annoyed when I told him I needed gel removed. Pedicure did not include a massage. During my gel manicure he was talking to a young girl incessantly about a silly tv show they watched, pausing when he spoke to her. This took longer than expected. He also got distracted by a game show on the tv. Rude, unprofessional and incompetent! A nail salon should be a soothing and calm experience, not loud with 3 tv's on at once!. so I gave this nail salon three opportunities. The first time was a $60 pedicure. The young woman was not consistent on both feet. She did some things to 1 foot and then she didn't do it to the other. I brought it to her attention and she looked at me like "I don't understand.". the second service 3 months later. I told them I didn't want any nail polish just a pedicure they thought that was funny and laughed about it and that service sucked too. Gave them one last shot. The third service the girl didn't even push back the cuticles, massaged my legs and feet for approximately two minutes then started massaging with the hot rocks for another minute. She was definitely trying to rush me out of the chair. Then when it came time to pay, she came back with my change and a five dollar coupon. Not only was I able to get an affordable pedicure with top notch seats, excellent customer service from the moment you walk in up until you leave, ample nail color selections, bilingual if you're in the mood to chat either language, fast service but thoroughly done. Yikes. I came in for JUST a soft gel removal. I was traveling and broke a nail (gel x) so just wanted to take them all off. I stopped by 2 other salons in the area but they could not fit me so I came in to Ava Nails. I figured this would not be a big issue as I just needed a simple soak off with acetone. But the tech removed my soft gel with some sort of bottled gel remover and a drill. All fine except she drilled my natural nail way too thin and now I have a deep sensitive ridge on one of my nails. I also noticed some sanitation issues that would not be acceptable if the department of health came knocking at their door. read more

The man who did my pedicure and Medicare was very professional he took the time to take nice care of my toes and fingers gave me a nice head massage you slice and ice creams and left me feeling spring fresh and beautiful! I'm a regular customer who only goes for pedicures and manicures. this past Sunday they convinced me to do eyelash extensions. they were to "last a month!" not even 2 days later I woke up with half an eye missing lashes. I ended up taking them off to go to work and their response was "it's a service, we can't refund you?!!!?!" it's a service that didn't last as promised and cost $110!!! I'd give 0 stars if I could. First of all, if you have a box here... bring your own tools because they used someone named Joanne's box on me. I went to this salon about a week ago for a powder gel full set and not even one full week later I'm down 3 nails. By no force at all. They charged me 55.00 dollars for this set that's unevenly shaped, poorly executed and now completely ruined. My tech was not friendly and she literally slapped lotion on my hands and called it a massage. They have no line to sign for the tip on their receipts. When my tech asked me if I wanted to run it for the total, I said yes and asked if they had an arm and she said no and then SLAMMED my receipt down, assuming I wasn't going to tip her. I still had her run my card for 10.00 for her tip. She was immediately embarrassed and tried to laugh as if she was joking. My assumption is she treated me poorly because I looked less than stellar. I actually was just recovering from an accident where my old nails had all broken off. I think she assumed I wasn't going to treat her well. Regardless, do not go to this establishment. Besides being judgement for silly reasons, they also just suck at doing nails. Here's my 6 day old nails. I've done nothing strenuous. I'm in the service industry myself and I hope this review doesn't give me bad karma but I deserve quality service and a great product to be paying that price point. read more

I am a repeat Customer at Ava Nail their place is peaceful quiet, clean, and relaxing all that you would want when off for a spa day. One day I walked in at 6:08pm (online they are open till 7) there was no one in the salon but the employees and I asked them if it was to late for just a gel manicure they agreed to take me. I wish they had told me no there wasn't time because the lady rushed and ended up hurting me. I have never had an experience like this in a salon. I left with blisters. No longer returning. I've been here for services three times to give it a solid chance, each time more annoyed than the last. The other reviews are spot on, staff is ridiculously rude--and they're prices are out of control. I think I payed almost $50 dollars for a gel manicure that looked like my tech was blind folded while doing them. Last time I came in I had asked for a pedicure and sat with my feet in water for 30 minutes. There was one tech doing 5 other people's feet, and other techs sat in chairs playing on their phones. I've been to this salon a bunch and they always did a decent job with gel manicures but they would reuse the foil that they wrap your nails in to remove the gel which is gross. The boss sunny runs the show and the other women won't answer any questions about pricing without asking her. She changes the price of certain things based on her opinion of you. I know this because I got a UV gel French fill with glitter gel polish and I was charged for a normal uv French fill. The next time I wanted a regular fill over the French with gel, a woman asked her how much extra and she added $10. It was an extra $10 for glitter?!? What kind of scam is that? On top of that my friend was getting her acrylic off and wanted a gel manicure and they kept changing the price every time they did anything. This nail salon has gone downhill. They rush you in & out. This last time I had a gel manicure. It was the Sunday before Christmas. I called for an appointment. I got in pretty quickly, but the technician didn't manicure anything & did the full set in just 20 minutes including 2 tips on nails that needed repair. Needless to say, in two days they were peeling. One tip fell off on Christmas Day & the other a day later. It was a real chop job. I have been going to Ava for years on and off (depending on my schedule and my whereabouts that week) They always do a great pedicure and spend the extra time. I also use to get gel manicures for awhile but with my profession, they started to chip, so I tried the Dip Powder. Well!!! I found my go to!! Love the natural look like the gel, but the sturdiness of almost an acrylic. Yesterday I went in with a picture from Pinterest, and I figured it might be difficult bc you can't just paint a design or glitter on the Dip like a normal mani, well Chris was awesome!!! Decided to try this salon while in town. Very disappointed- not only was the customer service rude and aggressive, but my acrylic set was very poorly done. The nail shapes were completely un-symmetrical, and the paint job was streaky and didn't even cover the whole nail. When I tried asking the woman who did them to fix it, she rolled her eyes and said "oh my god" to me, and then just further ruined her work. At that point I just decided to pay and leave. However, when I got to my car about 20 minutes later, I opened my car door and one of my nails completely snapped in half. I'm very disappointed with the service I received at Ava nails and spa today. My first visit was ok because I had a gift certificate for their best service. The quality of the job was good but my toes smudged within an hour after the visit and after the nail tech checked it. The techs were not at all friendly. Decided to give them a second chance with their regular manicure and pedicure. I let my nails dry longer than what was expected this time and say for a half hour once I was home. $25 mani/pedi Monday-Wednesday! They always do a great job!!! I have always found Ava to be a pretty safe choice for the standard mani/pedi or gel-polish mani. By and large the folk who work here are friendly and do a great job (like any regular at a nail salon you get to have your favorite people). It can get quite busy and there have been a couple of times where the wait was just too long and I had to leave. The worst manicure/pedicure I've ever had. I was left with 2 fingers actively bleeding and 2 others left raw and sore. There is one other review of this salon under "filtered". When I read that review it was very similar to my experience. Read it as well. The person I had was clearly inexperienced and had no idea what she was doing. The pedicure consisted of NO SOAKING. I sat down. She dipped my feet in and immediately pulled them out. She kept putting them in and pulling them out, leaving a soaking wet, cold towel to put my feet on. The foot and leg "massage" was a joke. It was all fake action and no kneading, pressure at all. She made it look like she was doing something but it was so light that it was like she was faking it on purpose. My nails were filed in an odd shape with sharp edges. As she was polishing she was holding my hand in a way that her hand would touch a freshly polished nail. I had to actively move my fingers so she would not ruin the wet polish. She never said a word about the bleeding fingers but put a paper on her nail and jamed it into the cuticle to get it to stop bleeding. Then she wiped the nail with alcohol ( yeah it STINGS on cut cuticles). I have hang nails all over the place from her use of the cuticle cutter. The polish job was not done well at all. They don't speak English and their prices are higher than neighboring nail salons. Never again. read more

I can't believe some of the bad reviews. I always have Patricia do my nails. She does a wonderful job and I'm never rushed with her. Maria has taken care of me occasionally & she gives the best leg massages. I have seen some of the issues that others have described but I've also seen how some of these same bad reviewers have acted and their behavior is appalling. However, they don't mention THAT in their review! I buy my own nail tools. You should too no matter where you go. I find the place clean & most of the women are nice. A language barrier can be difficult at times but English is one of the most, if not the most, difficult languages to learn. Perhaps we are the ones who should learn a few phrases in Asian so WE can communicate? Just a thought. read more

At first glance, this place seems nice and clean but once you deal with the employees, it's the complete opposite. They were rushing through the pedicures and manicures and giving everyone different treatment. There wasn't a consistent experience and their work was sub-par. The lady working on my manicure actually cut me. The final straw was when my friends and I were drying our nails and the associates start turning off the lights in the salon!! One of my friends had JUST sat down with wet nails and they were rushing us out the door as if we weren't paying customers. I know what it feels like to want to go home after a long day at work but it seems ridiculous to me that you wouldn't at least let your customers' nails dry before trying to kick them out! I don't know if it is the material they use but my polish was peeling within a week and the material ran out before the two week mark.
