My wife and I are first time new boat owners, having recently deciding to upgrade from an older, smaller boat that we purchased via private seller to a new SeaFox 228 Commander. While newbies to the boat dealership world, I've been to many a car dealership in my lifetime, and I expected the new boat buying experience to come with similar stress and headache with price haggling, upsell, and pressure tactics, and last minute unpleasant surprises. We were not sure what we wanted to buy and visited several boat dealerships in Eastern, NC with the plan of meeting with sales reps, looking at inventory and getting informed on options. But of the five different places we checked out, none impressed us, let alone building any trust with us. The experiences ranged from sales persons were who not really interested in wanting to spend time with us, to not having inventory in stock. Some of these places where an hour to two hour drive for us. We were getting a bit discouraged and I was starting to second guess myself as to if buying a new boat was worth it for us. Not wanting to throw in the towel just yet, we half heartedly drove an hour and fifteen minutes to Avalanche Motorsports and that's when our boat buying experience became fun. Where to start? Well, first off, Avalanche Motorsports actually had boat inventory in stock, like lots of boats, not just pictures of boats on their website. When we got there, we were warmly greeted by a sales rep who took genuine interest in us, gave us a tour of the place and after asking some questions to understand our needs, showed us several different options that made sense. He then introduced us to Ross, the Sales Manager, who was super friendly and patient with us. No trying to push a boat down our throats, no pressure or upsell tactics and plenty of patience in answering our questions and giving honest, open feedback. With regard to pricing and financing, my wife and I were very impressed with the transparency in the numbers and the process. There were no surprises, no hidden costs, no attempts to push us to buy any extras. We walked off the lot that day having all the information we needed to make an informed decision. Over the few days that followed, I had follow up questions for Ross and kept in touch by phone and e-mail. Ross was very quick to respond to my questions. When it was time to close, he called me the day prior to go over the process, insurance requirements, and answered last minute questions. We drove to Avalanche, getting ready to commit to the largest purchase we've made aside from our house, yet felt almost no anxiety due to the trust we developed from our experience with Ross and the Avalanche team. At time of close, zero unpleasant surprises, everything went as expected. Finally, in terms of pricing, we did pretty thorough research on the SeaFox 228 Commander, checking out what some other dealers were selling it for in the South Eastern U.S. and on-line chatting with some other 228 Owners; Avalanche's price was highly competitive and the boat was on the lot, not months out on delivery. Ross, sold me a Sea Fox a few years back. During the voyage, I left it in a slip overnight. I woke up to my boat up to the controls with water. Sunk. Luckily the Coast Guard was able to recover the boat. After the insurance investigation, it was determined that a manufacturer error caused the boat to sink. After the boat was sent back for repairs, Ross was ZERO help! I was without my brand new boat for nearly two years, while still making monthly payments. Ross and Sea Fox did nothing to help the process and treated me like a second class citizen. read more

Great on selling you a boat but we can't recommend buying additional features here like hub for radio, talon, leveling system, etc. We have had trouble with everything, and being first time boat owners didn't help. It took a while for us to recognize that it as a device installation and/or warranty issue versus operator error. As it turns out, it has been 100 percent device issues. Sigh! Word of advice, consider carefully adding features and get customer references and talk to them before committing to invest. If a feature is installed wrong then it will never work right. read more

Never heard of the CFMoto brand til about a week before my purchase. Did tons of research and liked what I saw. Everything from the factory upgrades and pricing right down to dealer experience. Found Avalanche Motorsports in Washington NC online. Called on a Thursday afternoon and talked to Todd. Super nice guy. Even though Avalanche was 2.5 hours away we made the trip to purchase our 2017 CFMoto CForce 500HO. Arrived at Avalanche around 10:00am welcomed by Todd. Very informative about the CFMoto brand and extremely easy to deal with. We were in and out loaded up with the CForce 500 and headed home in an hour!! That's right and hour. No BS about it. By far my best dealer experience I've ever had. I highly recommend Avalanche Motorsports to anyone looking for a badass ATV, side by side or even boats. read more

My wife and I had been researching center consoles, but didn't want to forgo the seating that our deck boat provided. Then we saw the Sea Fox 266 Commander, and our concerns were solved. We then shifted our efforts to learning all we could about this boat, and started communicating with a local dealer who sells them; as well as with owners/brokers advertising used ones for sale. Unsatisfied with those communications, and not believing that we were getting the best deal possible, we continued to look. One evening in late Feb of 2018, I emailed Avalanche inquiring about pricing, as they had the exact boat we were looking for. Color, power, etc. Todd, the owner called me the next morning, and by the end of that day we struck a deal on the new boat and our trade. Wasn't really much to it, as the asking price was so fair it didn't need to be negotiated. Now the kicker is, we live in Central Florida, but I assured Todd that I had no intention of taking our deal to the local dealer. I've been a commissioned salesperson for 25 years, so that's not in my DNA. Especially to merely save $1K. Next, we hit the road on Monday March 5th, picked the boat up on Tuesday, and it was back at our home on Wed. Our entire experience was favorable start to finish. From finally meeting Todd, to working with Ross on the finance piece and receiving our tutorial from the young man who installed our electronics (his name escapes me unfortunately). We are thoroughly enjoying our purchase, and have never once regretted the $600.00 in gas, hotel rooms, 20+ hour R/T drive, etc. read more
