Great times and a lot of fun! This venue is at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York, PA. We came here for a family weekend getaway and fun this past February. One of the main attractions is snow tubing and ice skating at AvalancheXpress. This attraction takes you up a hill on a sliding lift to the highest point of a hill where all the fun begins,.... An all downhill, exhilarating, blast and thrill of sliding across snow-ice in a tube. You can ride down the hills solo, pairs of doubles, and even as many as quadruple to six people! A complete Russian makes the ride even more fun doing it in groups. I must be honest here, I was really not interested in participating in this activity and primarily came with my family for the weekend getaway and comforts of relaxation, warm and the adult bar and beverages!! This activity was the last thing on my list for the weekend .... That's for sure But, my nieces and nephew begged me to try it. I thought it was gonna be boring and uneventful....But, boy was that wrong! It was complete fun...a blast! I like it so much that I must have rode this thing at least dozen times within the two hour window that we had. LOL. We bought the regular tubing passes and immediately loved it. In fact we loved it so much we bought a year round pass. We were able to put what we had paid toward the year round pass, and we added the fast pass to it to make the wait a little shorter. The pass includes unlimited tubing, ice skating (you have to rent skates or bring your own), mini golf, and half price laser tag. You also get coupon sheets for each pass you buy that gives you discounts for golf and other things. And the pass is good for one year from when you buy it. There is a restaurant/bar at the facility which has great food and reasonable prices. At the tubing and ice skating area you'll find food trucks serving hot chocolate, beer, pizza and lots of snacks. Honorable mention to the funnel cake fries....they were soooo good!! There are even adult beverages and spiked drinks sold at the food truck to keep you warmed up as well. :) There is also a hotel, and they do offer getaway packages with tubing, skating, golf, etc. Whether you want to bring hot dogs for the fire pit, s'mores or eat at the restaurant, or whether you're tubing or just watching.....there's enough things here to keep everyone happy. My friends and i had a great time snow tubing. It was my first time snow tubing. When we first pulled up I wasn't very impressed and was a little skeptical but ultimately we had lots of fun. Some of the snow had melted but that didn't seem to stop us from flying down the lanes quite quickly. We went on a Saturday and there were quite a bit of people during part of the time that we were there but the lines moved decently considering the amount of people. The tubes did have some mud on them and water in the insides of the tubes but that wasn't a big deal to me considering the type of activity. I just tried to choose tubes that were very inflated so that my bottom wouldn't reach the very inside bottom of the tube. We snow tubes for about 2 hrs. Afterwards, we walked over to Avenue Ale House and Pizza Loft and enjoyed good food. read more

This is the 1st time my family and I went here to snow tubing. It was the worst experience ever. We went around 245 and didn't get to slide until after four. In comparison with Liberty mountain, that we went to last year, Liberty Mountain is far more better than the experience at AvalancheXpress. No social distances at all. No hand Sanitizer for the customers to use after touching their tablets entering the information. So I recommend you bring her own. Customer Service: was excellent. The lady at the counter was pleasant and patient. Price: you're paying $36 for snow tubing just for you to stand in line for almost an hour and a half to do a 30 second slide. Benefit: is that you can go between 10 AM to 10 PM but you're going to spend most of your time in line and not really getting a fun experience snow tubing. read more

This place has the worst customer service we've ever received. Their staff doesn't follow COVID protocols including neglecting social distancing and not wearing masks. When my wife asked for a refund since our son is high risk the manager mocked her and claimed that her "opinions" didn't matter and there is nothing he can do to change other people's opinions. When reminded what the state orders were on compliance and that the website itself says the business is within CDC guidelines he stated that they had a meeting with their owners and they didn't even mention COVID so he wasn't sure it was still happening. Even if they were safe the wait times are abhorrent and the staff are the least professional I've ever dealt with. Do not bring your family here. It is a waste of time, money, and energy. read more

$38 per person for two hours (6 people) and we only got to go down 3 times. Had to wait in line for a tube and to go up the lift, weren't letting anyone walk up the hill. waste of time and money. They even charge for wood for the fire pit. Completly unorganized at check-in. Waited 20 minutes of our time to get our stickers even though we signed up and signed our waivers online. Location it over rated and the snow tubing is not that great. Went on 02/2.0/22 and it was not enjoyable. The equipment is outdated and the tubing itself is mediocre. You don't go down all the way and end up walking half way down. Not worth the price they were charging. Plus I paid and I'm pretty sure some people just walked onto the lines as they were not checking for bands. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else. read more

This place is totally awesome! I love snow tubing. I have been trying to get back here for 2 yrs now and l am so glad we came. We went on line and printed off our waivers and it let's you electronically sign. It saves a few steps because you can't purchase your tickets with out it. The tickets are $33.00 for everyone. I think under five years old is free. They give you a ticket with your name on it and you attach it to your clothing. They have bigger tubes for the adults and smaller tubes for the little kiddies. I do believe they color code the tickets for each day. You can snow tube all day if you feel up to it. There is no limit such as some of the other places. .I won't mention names but some of the snow tubing resorts only let you start on the hour. Not here you can start anytime you want. Some of the Resorts have a Two hour limit. Not here. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon around 11am and we continued to snow tube until around 2:30 or so. I just couldn't stop. I probably went up there around 9 times total. Was about to make it ten but it started getting crowded around 1pm. So I opted out at nine times of sliding. If you go towards the back the rides down hill is much faster. Start with the front if you're a beginner. I have now graduated lol . So proud of myself. .hahaha. l definitely will be returning with family next year. This should be a yearly thing that the whole family and friends would enjoy. . read more

If it's busy do yourself a favor and purchase the flash pass. I know! $20 extra on top of the few sounds crazy BUT, at peak times the wait in line can be 30+ minutes and you will watch all the flash passers stroll right on by while you stand behind the rope in the queue. We visited on a busy day. Most of the "problems" were the result of the guests. We had a minor lift issue, battled the crowd, but had fun. I'm hoping to return when it's less busy. If it is crowded when we go, I'm packing a trunk of snacks for the fire pits, buying a flash pass and making a full day of it! read more

Apparently this place is a golf course in the summer and they convert it to snow tubing in the winter. The location itself is great, plenty of free parking, a couple of restaurants to choose from, a concession stand and food trucks outside, and a lift to take you to the top if you don't want to walk it. The hills were pretty good, with the staff pointing out which ones are the fastest to get you the best speed. With that said, I'm only giving 3 stars because I think there is some serious lack of safety consideration at this place. Before you're even allowed on the tubes, you have to sign a waiver agreeing that you will not sue them EVEN if they're grossly negligent (Yes, it actually says this). I did go ahead and sign it, but I do have to admit that I felt a bit hesitant. I mean, I get it if it's beyond their control, but GROSS NEGLIGENCE? They shouldn't get an out for that. But I digress....... I also understand that this is an outdoor winter sports area. There will be snow and ice. I get it. But the common walkways were incredibly icy and slippery. They put down a few rubber mats, but this did very little to help, and in a few cases even made it worse. One woman with our group of friends slipped and fell and ended up with a broken wrist. I saw several people slipping and falling that day, and can't understand why they don't at least put down some kind of ice melt or SOMETHING in these common walkways. They do have fire pits and chairs scattered up and down the strip, and you have the option of bringing your own food if you prefer. But the food in the restaurants was actually quite good, with the upstairs dining being a little more upscale with a great bar. And they also have a hot chocolate bar, where you can get unlimited hot chocolate with several add-in options for $4 for the day. Not a bad deal! So I guess the bottom line is that it's a fun place to spend a day, but understand that you're taking your safety into your own hands, so be careful and watch where you're walking....because they're not. read more

Covid has not hurt this business! $36 for a day pass, got here at 10AM and I think at 8PM tonight I am still standing in line! 1 1/2 hour wait at bottom of hill only to have to wait again at the top. Avalanche Express does not limit ticket sales. I saw families arriving at 8 pm for evening tubing. If they wait in line for 1 1/2 hours they would only get one turn down the hill before Avalanche Express closes at 10 pm. It's disappointing because we have been repeat customers for at least five winters. I doubt we will be back next winter. On the positive we have never had a bad meal at the restaurant! read more

We almost didn't make it. Traffic was horrific this afternoon due to the funeral of the fallen officer, so I remember saying "this better be amazing"... When we arrived, I was doubtful . It didn't look like what I pictured. We had a really great time. Although it was an unseasonably warm day, we were able to slide down pretty far on the lanes. I know it would be even better when it's colder. I do not like how they handle the tube situation.. You have to turn the tube back into the corral and get a new one each time.. I think there can be a better way to do this. I have heard that there are other places in the area for tubing so I would like tk try them out.. But I can't wait to return here next season ! read more

Not the best experience! Went today with a group of 7-10 year olds, the towline wasn't working so we all had to walk the hill for each pass and the snow wasn't packed so they only were able to get down 1/3 - 1/2 of the hill each time. Seemed like all guests received full vouchers that complained, for another visit but a heads up of what to expect would have been appreciated since the drive was 1hr + each way. Not sure we'll even go back to use the voucher. read more

I had a great time here with my kids while staying at the nearby Eden resort in Lancaster!Got here right before they open at 4 PM and the guys behind the counter were really friendly and helpful!After I did the quick waiver for safety @ the kiosk we paid for our tickets and off it was to the hill for some snow tubing!they offer you two ways to get up the hill either walking up or getting a lift on the moving ramp,They offer small tubes for the kitties and larger ones for the bigger kids/adults,tubing downhill was awesome! Very exhilarating especially when you flip around and face backwards! LOL You can get some serious speed on these things!Some freestylers would go head first but I just enjoyed sitting in it and enjoying the ride! You can also go side-by-side with your kid/friend or I've seen as many as 4 friends clinging tubes together to go down in one shot! It's quite beautiful being up there during the sunset & You can go as many times as you want up until closing at 10 PM and enjoy some hot chocolate afterwards, I noticed they also have a nice looking restaurant as part of the facility/ next door golf course,I highly recommend this place for some winter fun! read more

Trying to find something nice to say and honestly can't. Took the family for what we thought was going to be a fun day of tubing and got to ride twice over a 3hr period. Only 1 lane open! Staff changed about every half hour and instead of walking down they took a precious spot and rode down the hill. Overall very poorly run operation. read more

Really disappointing experience. They made the rink larger, which is nice, but the ice hadn't been cleaned in ages. And the worst part was the rental skates, which appeared to have never been sharpened. They were essentially boots on top of pieces of dull metal. We couldn't really skate at all. read more

My initial impression was very unimpressed. We came on a Saturday. It was 42 degrees so not ideal weather. Our slot was 3-6pm. We parked and then were pretty confused. There are was no staff directing where to check-in or how to start tubing/ I asked other clients and they pointed me to the Pro-shop. We got checked in and then started to tube. The staff are all teenagers but nice and capable of the job. We had very little wait and were able to use the pully system to get up the hill each time. We were able to get over 10 runs in with 2 breaks. The bathrooms are in a portable trailer and are up a hill. They were not at all gross and even had an electric fireplace in there. The food truck was cheap and the food was good albeit basic. My 6 and 8 year old children were perfectly comfortable on the slope and not at all scared. Is it the nicest place for tubing in PA? No but we had a great experience. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant afterwards and enjoyed that, too. read more

Was nothing like last year. Went with daughter for school night. We paid $30 for both of us. Last year we would walk up, tube down and walk back up as fast as possible. This year, you are quarantined in a line until allowed to grab a tube and walk up, then after down run relinquish tube and get back in the pen to wait. We were therefor 1 hr. We got the family winter package at the hotel (see review on hotel and restaurant on their page- heritage hills resort) because we wanted to go snow tubing here and it was a too good to be true price (now we know why). We drove almost 3 hours to come here and overall it was very fun and gave us some happy amazing memories I will give you that. We got 2 day passes for each of us with the package and the best part about this whole place is it is one price for the WHOLE day not some lame overpriced 2 hour time slot like other places. Unfortunately we noticed some issues right away. Luckily we got there right after they opened because the first couple hours we were making it to the bottom and going fast but soon after the slopes started to heat up and people weren't even making it half way down. Yes, I know it was warmer weather and that wasn't their fault it was just annoying. The way you get to the top of the slopes is by sitting in your tube and getting pulled by ropes. These ropes slapped us and other people super hard as we were going up. It was to the point that my daughter bawled her eyes out and it left a mark on her. The person in front of us as well too. She even brought it to the workers attention and he didn't seem to care or be sympathetic. Sometimes they would let people go down the slope before people even cleared the track. The people working here did not seem like they wanted to be there. Yo thats cool you're all mostly young and don't want to work to get money like you did from your parents and you hate your job but we don't want to see it from your body language. I tried to converse or joke with them a couple times and they could care less. They don't have proper crowd control with having people line up properly to ride the ropes up to the top. They have a stupid set up where you drop your tube off after each time going down and you get in line and then go all the way through and grab a whole new tube. Some horrible parent even had their baby (which was young enough that it definitely couldn't even walk yet) in a tube and pushed it down with her next to her....in the tube...by itself...with her holding the tube next to her. I asked them if this was allowed and the guys said "sure why not"....uh....no. Icy walks, lack of staff, slow lines, too few slopes open, disorganized. We arrived 10:15 on a Saturday and got 2 rides in 45 minutes. It would be nice to have a place to relax and change - other than the restaurant. It's not fun to put gear on in the middle of a parking lot. 4 lanes out of ten on a busy day doesn't make sense. Wanted to bring a group to Avalanche Xpress but ran into issues regarding lunch. We needed to bring packed lunches and was told that it was not allowed. No outside food at all. The only way our group could bring their own lunches was if we ate them on the bus. Unacceptable for a group of kids ages 6-12 years. Attempted to work it out but they wouldn't budge.
