(I'm literally 1/2 white) she said she will not play anything you can dance to and a a freestyle dancer this is an issue. if it's busy there is no floor guard. they need an assistant manager as multiple times there have been no games because Erica is helping out. we were playing 4 corners once and skated around for 15 minutes once because she was just gone. parents waltz all over the rink floor not watching their kids. the kids literally slam straight into you. this has happened almost every single session I've been to lately. it's also very crowded. like to the point you're wondering if the fire code is being violated.

One of the main attractions is snow tubing and ice skating at AvalancheXpress. This attraction takes you up a hill on a sliding lift to the highest point of a hill where all the fun begins,.... An all downhill, exhilarating, blast and thrill of sliding across snow-ice in a tube. You can ride down the hills solo, pairs of doubles, and even as many as quadruple to six people! A complete Russian makes the ride even more fun doing it in groups. I must be honest here, I was really not interested in participating in this activity and primarily came with my family for the weekend getaway and comforts of relaxation, warm and the adult bar and beverages!! This activity was the last thing on my list for the weekend .... That's for sure But, my nieces and nephew begged me to try it. I thought it was gonna be boring and uneventful....But, boy was that wrong! It was complete fun...a blast! I like it so much that I must have rode this thing at least dozen times within the two hour window that we had. LOL. We bought the regular tubing passes and immediately loved it. In fact we loved it so much we bought a year round pass. We were able to put what we had paid toward the year round pass, and we added the fast pass to it to make the wait a little shorter. The pass includes unlimited tubing, ice skating (you have to rent skates or bring your own), mini golf, and half price laser tag. You also get coupon sheets for each pass you buy that gives you discounts for golf and other things. And the pass is good for one year from when you buy it. There is a restaurant/bar at the facility which has great food and reasonable prices. At the tubing and ice skating area you'll find food trucks serving hot chocolate, beer, pizza and lots of snacks. Honorable mention to the funnel cake fries....they were soooo good!! There are even adult beverages and spiked drinks sold at the food truck to keep you warmed up as well. :) There is also a hotel, and they do offer getaway packages with tubing, skating, golf, etc. Whether you want to bring hot dogs for the fire pit, s'mores or eat at the restaurant, or whether you're tubing or just watching.....there's enough things here to keep everyone happy. Staff is extremely rude and condescending. Guy at the skate concession was rude when we asked for…read moreskates, we used the wrong term when referring to the type of skate and he was extremely condescending about it. Staring at us like he didn't know what we meant and then rudely correcting us in a condescending tone. then while skating we were approached by a worker and told to get closer to the middle or get off the rink because we were skating "too slow" for the outside, when we were skating at a normal pace. We told him we just wanted to be closer to the outside and felt more comfortable, and he just said "well sorry" and skated away. There are multiple skating rinks in this area that have never showed that kind of behavior and allowed anyone of any ability to skate. This is not one of them. They punish the "slower" (normal speed) skaters disguising it as "not wanting you to get hit" instead of the people zipping around and tripping people. Saying all this without even mentioning the fact that while skating I was approached by a man who I'm pretty sure either works there or is a regular, and he attempted to flirt with me. Very awkward and strange. I don't recommend this place.

Despite his attempt to present valid identification proving he was 21 years old, Sarah refused to believe it, mocked the situation using air quotes about his "real age," and continued to escalate the issue. Once it became clear she could not justify her claim about his age, she abruptly shifted her reasoning, stating that he was not "chaperoning a child" and had to leave. The young man, like the rest of us, was a paying customer. He had purchased both entry and skate rental. There was absolutely no justification for the treatment he received--other than the fact that he is a young Black man. What made this even more painful was the clear contrast in how our white friend, who also had no skates and remained seated at our table, was completely ignored and never harassed by staff. The racial bias and discrimination from Sarah, the security guard, and other staff members were blatant. The overall environment was hostile, disrespectful, and unsafe. We ultimately made the decision to leave as a group, feeling dehumanized and unwelcome. To add further insult, the young man who had paid for entry and skate rentals was treated as if he were not a legitimate customer. The staff, including the girl at the skate rental window, were disrespectful when attempting to return our shoes, even citing minor issues like not "tucking" the laces into the skates. We were only at the facility for about an hour in total, but it was enough time to experience clear racial profiling, harassment, and unprofessional behavior by the staff. This is not the kind of experience any paying customer should ever endure.

The parking lot is huge and offered plenty of parking and was easy to get in and out. The food is a little over priced but that would be expected at a sporting venue. They had arcade games, food bar, and plenty of seating. Our only complaint, and it's a very minor one that we hope they fix, is the air hockey table was broken. This is a very cool place and we definitely plan on coming back!

The place is pretty easy to find though it is unlikely you'd just happen to drive by it, as it is kind of not on the beaten path. You can purchase everything ahead of time in terms of skate rentals and entry. It's pretty reasonable for one session mid-afternoon until close in the evening, you just need one entrance ticket/fee paid. You get your money's worth for sure if you are there for hours! You can bring your own skates or rent skates here- they have regular roller skates and roller blades. Both of these are in whole sizes, no half sizes, and both of them would be best on your feet with high socks that go to your lower calves, at least. Tying them tightly gives you the best skating, but that also pinches into skin if you don't have the right socks. They have an area for parties that includes a few arcade games, but mostly, you're there to skate. There are people there who are serious skaters going wicked fast and throwing some cool tricks, but we never felt bad in any way for not being one of the super talented skaters. There's a snack bar, too, with your classic fare like burgers, hot dogs, nachos, fries and funnel cake fries. Yummy snack junk food that makes the experience all the more reminiscent of young carefree days! They have lockers for your stuff, some don't even lock, but no one seemed concerned. There are benches for sitting and changing out your shoes to skates and vice versa, and people tend to just stash their shoes under the benches rather than get a locker. A good time all around and pretty affordable if you're there for a while!

This skatepark is an amazing tribute to a young man who apparently pursued his passions during his young life, including skateboarding. The park is free and open to the public. It was built with smooth, wonderful concrete and has some nice big bowls (much of it with metal coping) as well as a snakerun and lots of rails, stairs, and banks. It is skate-at-your-own risk so nobody is there breathing down your neck to put on full pads. Even though I've never met anyone involved in building this awesome park, the City of York, private donors, PA state officials, and the Menzer family are to be commended! There were some excellent skaters there of all ages (of course, I was the oldest). I loved it! It was worth the drive, and I'll be back!
