It's unfortunate! The level of customer service and efficiency in this salon is mediocre. I asked for an SNS manicure while traveling last week to New Orleans . I explained to the technician that I do t like the layer of dipping powder to be too think and if she could file it down when completed that would be great . She proceeded to file down what I currently had on , that's not how you remove SNS. If wrapped and soaked right, it should wipe right off after 5-7 min . On the last layer of clear polish she put gel top coat . That's foolish considering the whole purpose of SNS is to avoid UV light . See picture ... 6 days later the top coat is peeling off . Finally when I explained my cuticles are sensitive and for her to be careful she said "you are just an overall difficult customer " Horrible ! read more

I visited the Avalon Spa because it was in the Riverwalk outlet where I was shopping. I was skeptical because there wasn't many patrons in there but that was actually a good thing because the nail tech could focus on me without rushing. I got a pedicure and it was very relaxing. They didn't have many OPI polish choices but tons of brands all together. I really enjoyed my pedicure and how relaxing my pedicure felt. read more

I came in today to get a refill & reshaped. The nail tech that did my nails was very quiet but I don't mind because I'm not big on talking while getting my nails done. Their gel selection isn't amazing but I'm not impressed by any gel selections I've seen since moving to New Orleans. My nails look amazing. The nail tech did a great job shaping & painting my nails. He took a lot of time to make sure it looked good. The biggest con is that this nail salon is in the Riverwalk Outlet so I had to pay $13 for parking on top of $50 (including tip) for my nails. Stopped in for a gel polish change while I was out shopping. The place was nice! Friendly staff, reasonable prices ($30 for me since I had gel polish that needed to be taken off), and it was well maintained. They were not busy so I was in and out very quickly. The technician paid close attention to detail. I also liked that they had a phone charger by all the chairs for use just in case anyone needed. I didn't get to try any of the fancy manicures they offer but would definitely come back here to do that in the future. read more

I usually dont do this but I was so disappointed, I had to make a review. I went on Novemebr 5th, 2020 in preparation for my 21st bday on November 6th. Worst job I've ever had on my nails. I had to keep telling the lady to redo some spots. She was shaking all over the place. When I left, I didnt really notice how bad it was. I noticed dents, cracks, and bubbles in my nails about an hour later. I've never ever experienced anything like this before. If I could give 0 stars I would. To say these nails were done by a professional, they dont look professional. Do better. Do yourself a favor and dont come here y'all. P.S. These pics were taken about 2 hours after I got them done. 11/18/19: Visitation date I walked into Avalon Salon & Spa with the expectations of a safe and realistic eye-brow wax session. However, the expectation failed beyond belief. A 20-minute wait slowly turned into a 50-minute wait, my eyebrows were uneven & the beautician left a waxing strip in my hair (my friend pointed out while existing the mall). I was in town for a conference and staying at the hotel adjacent to the mall. I decided to stop on for a pedicure. Probably one of the best I've had in a long time at a non-spa location. Most places now do a quick pass over your heels and a fast buff of your nail beds and then slap on some polish. Not here. I'm pretty sure my technician was into some kind of kink. The more ticklish I got, the harder he scrubbed. I tried pulling away a few times, but he held on and got my feet feeling super soft. I should have gotten his number!! ;-) read more

Avoid this place if possible. #1 they are expensive because everything is a la carte (pedicure $20 + gel polish another $20 + take off gel polish $5) and #2 the customer service is non-existent. When I tell you that the guy doing my pedicure did not introduce himself or utter two words to me the entire time he was doing my nails it is not an exaggeration. He used taps and hand gestures the entire time. I indicated I wanted my nails filed rather than cut down and he immediately proceeds to cut my nails. I would say that this place is pretty unprofessional. It's pretty obvious that their top priority is not to give the impression of a fresh and clean salon. The place just felt kind of dumpy, which makes me worried about germs. I noticed that my nail tech had some sort of fungal infection on their thumb which really freaked me out. And that is why I'm never going back. They also overcharged me for the services. My basic manicure did not match the price on the menu. I figured the nail tech just automatically entered the tip, I didn't bother asking because I could tell they did not speak English. No big deal about not speaking English, but it was really the sanitary conditions that bothered me. read more

Poor customer service. Came in as a walk-in. Understood I would have to wait since I didn't have an appointment, no issue with that. 10 minutes after I got there two other ladies also came in as walk ins. About 5 minutes later they were helped and got their pedicures started while I was still waiting. Even though our names were on the wait list and mine was obviously a head of theirs. Do not recommend. Daughter and I went here. Time quotes way off! Hair salon technician was so rude, did not speak to us but to say don't move your head. Nail salon very slow based on time quoted, we were there two hours and only ended up with one mani/pedi. I had to cancel mine as they ended up taking someone else in front of me even though I had been waiting more than and hour. Once they realized they did nothing to resolve. They still charged me full price and as an apology gave me a box of hair dye. Other salons our shellac nails last a few weeks. Here it didn't last a week. read more

Customer service could be improved.... 60 minute pedicure ended up being a 35 minute service with 15 minutes of waiting afterward with no communication of whether they were finished or waiting for something to dry. Nails look pleasant but i could've waited to get home to get the same service for 2/3s of the price. read more

Got my hair done by Tony I think was his name. Just a haircut. He knows what looks good, but also respects what you want to do with your hair. Communicates well so y'all find a compromise on what to do with your hair. Also a great conversationalist; has some good stories. read more
