Should have read the reviews, but thats my fault for waiting until the last minute to get nails done. The front desk person seemed pissed that I was there. They had very few gel color options to choose from; I didn't see any skin tone varieties at all. I'm used to getting pages and pages of colors at other salons... they had about 40 i think, and several of those were glitter. My nails started getting small chips in the ends after about 4 days. This picture of them is at 11 days.... I thought gel nails were supposed to last 2 weeks. Its hard to see in the picture but one of them is cracking which is something Ive never experienced. After my pedicure I also noticed my cuticles still looked really dry. While I was in there a lady came back inside because she didn't understand the cost on her receipt, and they told her it was tax. So when they didn't appear to give me the online booking discount promised online, I didn't argue, because I knew I wasn't winning with this guy. read more

Having just left the salon, the quality of my gel refill seems good. However, the surprise charge at the end of my service was really disappointing. I asked specifically how much it would be and was quoted one price. Then at the end, my nails cost 25% more than what I was quoted. Interestingly, my technician asked if I wanted my nails to be trimmed. I replied, "yes" and would've said the same if she'd told me how much that would cost. The problem was not being told until I was at the register, after it was done. The gel color selection was also very limited; I was only given 1 small book to choose from. Avoid this place. The owner agreed to honor Groupon prices ($18.99 pedicure, $36.99 mani-pedi) if we paid in person, then completely ignored that agreement at checkout. The "pedicures" were barely pedicures at all -- no callus work, no bottoms of the feet touched, just quick polish and done. When it came to my manicure, the tech messed up multiple times, so I told him to stop and just remove the polish. He left glitter and polish residue all over my nails. Despite not receiving a manicure, I was charged the full combo price anyway. Worse, my friend was charged $39 for a pedicure that was supposed to be $18.99. So: no manicure, two half-assed pedicures, and overcharged across the board. If this isn't deceptive billing, I don't know what is. I genuinely don't understand how this place has good reviews unless they treat certain customers very differently. read more

Beautiful, Black owned nail salon in New Orleans. The owner is nice and friendly! The service was great and I was in and out of the shop in a timely manner. Would have loved to have been offered water or a cocktail if possible. Also would only recommend more color options if possible but they have the standard nail color selections. Let me start by saying this is an Excellent Excellent Nail Spa. Black owned. Locally owned & operated. DEI represented. Cost affordable. Lots of character. And oozing which charm. Located in the heart of the city right on Canal Street, it was easy to navigate to. Easy to get to on the bus or any other means of transportation and even taking a walk to the Salon is not out of the question. Appointments are preferred and did I mention that they take walk-ins so that makes it all the better. Imagine my day starts off running a couple errands and I remembered that I wanted to do some hand modeling and I needed a manicure. So I am reminded of a social media live event broadcasting the opening of this salon some about 6 months prior. So I decided to stop in. When I headed into the salon, there was actually someone that was exiting and upon my entrance, I noticed a gentleman behind the counter. I asked him about a manicure and the rest is history. He immediately got me to complete some paperwork, pick my color. He further offered me some water, champagne or coffee. I was already drinking coffee and the champagne would've been nice but I declined all three. He asked me to have a seat at the table at which point I questioned who was going to do my nails he expediently told me that he was going to do my nails. This was surprising and a little jar dropping for me. I'll be honest, most times, this is a female dominated arena. And not only did he break that stereotype for me; he also superseded my expectations. Truly, this was an experience. From start to finish, from the time that I entered, to the time that I exited... i was in awe. While completing the paperwork, I provided my phone number and was advised of the loyalty program and potential for further text messages. Shortly after the visit, I received a notification that it was time for a return, this was a great welcoming reminder. I have yet to make that appointment, but I will. While there, it was almost as though I had been whisked away to a remote location and was being pampered at a spa on an island somewhere; I got lost I within... Kudos to Rory and all those that have in hand in this Spa turned "get-a-way". I definitely plan to return. Street parking is the call for the day . I found the pricing to be fair and in line with industry standard. Next time I come back. I'll make sure to schedule ahead book a pedicure and enjoy that champagne and return to that "island get-a-way". read more

Amazing customer service. I had an idea of what I wanted and got even better results. I wanted a jelly nude looking manicure with acrylics and the nail tech gave me options to choose from and I ended up going with the more nude/brown. My nail tech who I believe was Kristeon was my nail tech and she was fantastic. Both funny and amazing at what she does! And this place is black owned. So I'll start by saying I'll never come back. I think that people should be honest about their level of expertise. I rarely leave reviews, but I feel like people should know what to expect here. It's clear this salon is employing very new or inexperienced nail techs. I should've recognized the red flag whenever they took a before photo of my male friends nails before he got his treatment done, (clear polish). When you get your nails done religiously the way I do you recognize when someone doesn't know exactly what they're doing. My gel polish started peeling and lifting within just a few days -- something that has never happened to me in all my years of getting gel pedicures. The polish application was uneven, and the overall experience felt rushed and unprofessional. They gave us "hot" towels, which didn't actually have a temperature because it feels like they just pulled them out of a cupboard. They also asked us to pay in full before the service, which was another red flag. When I mentioned that it was odd behavior, they came up with an excuse, saying that the man working the counter was leaving soon. I started putting the pieces together during my pedicure, realizing that it was going to be a very bad experience. I actually wasn't going to write a review, but now that all of my nails are completely without any gel polish on them I felt like it was my duty to warn other people before they spend their money there. I understand when people are training to be a nail technician, but they shouldn't be taking clients when they really don't know what they're doing. I asked for square nails with a french tip and design. The nails are the incorrect shape, the acrylic is placed bumpily and sloppy. They had me pay upfront which was a red flag to begin with. The owner was annoyed at me from the start or my appointment to the end. I received sub optimal care with no compensation. The best they could do is saying that they could re-do the service which I did not want or soak them off which I wanted. Very zen. When you walk in, there's a nice smell and quiet music. Lives up to the sign out front, which urges you to relax and leave reality behind. I went for a basic foot massage, and it was well worth the price! The whole process was painless, Joe was very helpful with choosing a nail color, and the massage chair was a gentle lull that actually put me to sleep! I'd love to come back. There's no dedicated parking lot, just off street parking, so plan ahead to arrive on to The service was very welcoming (even though I was the only customer at the time). I booked with Vanity, and she basically explained everything she was doing throughout the whole pedicure. She took her time and it didn't feel rushed at all. I loved my experience at Sole and I will definitely be back! I found the salon on Groupon and was able to get an appointment quickly. I ended up half an hour early for my appointment and was immediately greeted warmly and squeezed in. The vibe is super relaxed and . Zi'rielle was such a lovely nail tech, easy to talk to, easy to be quiet with. She checked in with me often to make sure I liked what she was doing and gave me tips for maintaining the manicure. I am very pleased with the quality of her work. The owner was very attentive and brought me wine! I do my nails a lot myself, but I really enjoyed my time at Sole and will come back sooner than I usually would, because of how lovely the service was. I highly recommend! read more
