I went to Avani Salon today for the first time and plan to become a regular customer. I had been looking for someone to cut my hair for about a year now due to my prior stylist having a baby and deciding to become a stay-at-home mom. So my search began. I had gone to someone who was rated 5 stars on yelp and was very unhappy with the cut she gave me, even though I had brought a picture of what I wanted. The cut didn't look anything like the style in the picture. I wanted layers and she did more of a bob cut. That was about 5 months ago. I got up this morning and took a look at myself in the mirror (yuck!) and decided to try to find someone to cut my (what now looked like a mop) hair. I called Avani and talked to Deborah. She was very friendly and said there was an appointment open later this afternoon. Oh my gosh! Kris cut my hair and she did exactly what I asked for!!! She was friendly, professional and my hair looks and feels great! The salon was clean, comfortable and the prices are reasonable. Oh and did I mention, it is a day spa to boot. If you're looking for someone new like I was, or just looking, try calling Avani. Kris will listen carefully to what you want and then she'll work her magic. Hurray, my search is over! read more

My mom and I called to make an appointment because of the yelp reviews a few months back. We both needed haircuts and my mom wanted a facial. The owner scheduled both of us for our hair and also told us she would have the aesthetician call us to schedule the facial. Well, we received no call back for the facial and decided to go in for our cuts anyway. When we got there, the stylist forgot to write our appointment down and wasn't expecting us. She told us to wait and that she would "squeeze" us in. There wasn't anywhere to sit since one of the 2 chairs was occupied with someone's purse. We waited in the hallway since we felt uncomfortable just standing there. That should have been a sign for us to turn around and walk out. Our hair cuts were awful. We each got sprayed down with a water bottle and I had to cut some of my uneven layers myself when we got home. I should have known since the other ladies in the salon were getting rollers put in and teased hair. This place doesn't seem up to date with the new styles we were expecting to get at all. No one ever called us back for the facial. I guess they don't want our business. That's good, because I don't plan on going back. Definitely overrated! read more

I went there for the first time today on a recommendation- loved it! I am pretty cautionary about hair salons and my normal girl wasn't available so I decided to try Avani. SO glad I did. Kris cut my hair & she did a great job. She listened to what I wanted and asked questions. I saw how elegantly she worked the scissors through my heavy thick hair and immediately saw results. I came out totally impressed and when I'm heading home in the future, will definitely make a stop there. The location is perfect- lots of parking (although watch out for the Farmer's Market), but even at 3pm on the day before Thanksgiving- I immediately found a spot. The place is clean and there's lots of natural light. They have lots of services and hopefully will try them at some point. The prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommended! read more

I absolutely love the new salon! Kris has been doing my hair since I was a little girl and now she will be doing my hair for my wedding! She is the best at what she does. Jill, Kris' daughter, gave me the best and I mean the BEST facial ever! I have never been so relaxed in my life, I have three kids and work so i need some relaxation, I can't wait to go back for more! Jill is also doing my makeup for my wedding and let me tell you for my trial run Kris and Jill tag teamed and I shit you not I looked hot, HOT, so much that I went to Safeway and got whistled at...lol! The atmosphere is light and relaxing, all the girls there are sweet and friendly, and what you get for the price is breath taking! I would never go any where else!!!!!!!!!!! I had a great experience with Gina @ Avani Salon. It's been over a year since I had my hair cut last, and then it was only a trim of the style I've had forever. Once I got my courage up for a cut and color, I went to see Gina @ Avani. She guided me through what was possible with my hair, and helped me pick the right style and color. Beforehand I envisioned my hair a certain style, and that's exactly what it looked like when I walked out the door! I didn't really even think my hair could look like this, but it's been a week and I have easily duplicated the look that Gina gave me. I highly recommend Gina & Avani Salon (there were other people getting haircuts there that came out wonderful too!), I guarantee it's the only place I'll be going from now on, and not waiting over a year to do so! read more

Well I went into Avani Salon& Spa in Pacifica. A friend recomended it. It was clean and stylish. What a great view of the ocean as you enter. I saw Deborah. She made my mouse brown hair sizzle with a slightly copper tone. She used the organic color . What a pleasant surprise to not have the smell of regular color and my hair was so soft and what a terrific shine it has. I was blown away. Can't wait to try the new natural shampoo&conditioner I boughtI also just sheduled a coconut facial with Jill as a treat after working overtime for the last week. I just got the full treatment today and it was freakin awesome. For a first timer I was a little nervous but everyone was very friendly and understanding. Kris encouraged me to go with the organic hair color and it came out great. my hair is still super shiny and it's been cple days now since I got it colored. Then Jill gave me an organic facial and it was fabulous!!! It was so relaxing I almost fell asleep. I even walked away with a very pretty new necklace. They sell handmade Jewlery for local artist. Kris has been doing my hair for a number of years. I'm really picky when it comes to my highlights (and covering the grey) but I am never disappointed with her level of expertise and how warm and friendly she is. I can say that I feel very comfortable at Avani and everyone else makes me feel just as welcome. I highly reccommend that you try this place. My next appointment will be with Jill for a facial and I can't wait to relax in her special room. It looks very professional and soothing at the same time. Avani is a beautiful salon across from the visitor's center in a beautiful part of Pacifica. Gina has been cutting/coloring my hair for over a year now and I am always getting compliments after I've been to see her. She is a great stylist and really puts the effort into offering the latest styles and products. Gina is also the only stylist I've found that can cut my son's thick wavy hair without making him look goofy and "uncool"... I'm sooo going to miss her when I move to the east coast. read more

Kris has been doing my hair for 27 years I now live in Roseville and every 4 to 5 weeks I take a ride back to Pacifica for Kris to do my hair. I can't leave her I trust her and she know what I like. I highly recommend Kristin at Avani! She did such a great color and cut on my hair and only uses safe organic product in her salon which is so refreshing. I brought in a picture with me of color I really liked and she nailed it!
