As a recent Graduate of Avant Media Institute, I have a better understanding and knowledge for sound engineering in every aspect of audio. One of my main goals coming in as a student, was to understand sound, production, mixing and mastering through the eyes of an engineer. Having only desired to gain knowledge and expertise in Mixing and Mastering, and having years of experience in the field of audio engineering and music production, I was pleasantly surprised by the things I received in addition to mixing and mastering. Learning Pro Tools was number one. I was familiar with Logic and Cubase. To be trained on the industry standard has been a blessing. Second, to gain knowledge and experience of the ominous patch bay and how it works definitely a confidence booster and stress reliever when it comes to being able to walk into any studio and at least know what the patch bay is supposed to be doing! Also, the nuggets gleaned from the music production, music business and live sound modules are more than I can list here in this review. I took a chance to invest in my passion and AMI really helped take my talents to the next level and guide me from wrong to right, no matter how difficult the questions I asked they always had an answer for it.
