I had previously gone to Avante when they had a location close to Kroger on Broad. When they moved back to Debbie Lane I found another place but that stylist moved so I gave them another try. Kept and ladies who brunch may be okay with the pricing but for independent women who spend their dime to have their hair done, it does not even meet basic expectations. Firstly, they charge according to stylist levels which I have never agreed with but found a great stylist who was a level 1 and she listened and did an excellent job. Downside was she went on maternity leave and I've been tossed around to three other stylists who were supposedly higher levels but not on par with my stylist. I'm pretty sure she's not coming back after maternity leave but they just are not saying that because it's been a couple months beyond normal. Secondly, they à la carte price for everything so you never pay the same price. The straw that broke the camel's back was today I was charged nearly $300 for a face frame, trim, and root touch up. I had asked for a partial at the beginning of the consult and she only highlighted around my face. Then the blowouts here are terrible with all three stylists who filled in. They cannot blow out naturally curly or textured hair to save their lives which you would think is Hair 101 in school. If you have straight, or thinning hair then this is your place because that seems to be all they can do. See photo for what passes as a smooth blowout here (frizzy and still damp in the middle) and no styling whatsoever. Go to Hair Did down the road, they do a much better job! read more

Although pricey, I went to Cody 3 times because I know it takes time to work with a stylist to get the look you want. However, the latest time was the last time; color was fine, but the only thing she asked about the style was, "You wear it back, right?". I don't. She spent about 5 minutes drying and styling my hair, and when she asked me what I thought, I had to point out it wasn't completely dry. I also told her I typically used texturizer, and she handed me the jar and suggested I do it myself. She was very nice about it, and it really didn't hit me how rude and dismissive it was until I left. I did not spend over $350, including gratuity, to style my own hair. read more

She didn't even look at the color inspo pic and toned my hair blonde when I went in wanting a brunette color. It was sloppy work; it was uneven and had a horizontal strip around the side of my hair on one side. It was awful. Wish I would've read the other reviews here. The people who answer the phone and book your appointment are completely unethical. They quote a price and then don't stand by it - then they add an additional up-charges to what you were quoted ON THE PHONE WHEN YOU MADE THE APPOINTMENT and they tell you that you should've 'visited their website' in the 1 1/2 hours between when you made the appointment on the phone and arrived for your same day appointment so that you would have known that they lied to you on the phone about the price you would be paying just to get you in the door. I am ANGRY. They gave me a huge bill after taking my card and running it and then are rude when you call to question the up charges. I'm disputing the charges. Just avoid this place. Their are way better places anyway - they were already to high before all those concocted up charges. Shame on them!! read more

Anyways Gabrie saved my hair, last place I went to before Avante (LA Salon in Mansfield) left me w thin raccoon streaks after I asked for a balayage. It took a few appointments so I didn't damage my hair too badly but she pretty much took me all the way blonde which I never thought was possible because of my skin tone and naturally black hair. PLEASE read the website and the signage prior to your services! This place is charging a 15% "inflation and service" fee, that they neglect to tell you about until you check out. I was not charged this the first time I went. I got the exact same services - literally NOTHING different from the first time, and got hit with a larger bill by about $50, that was not agreed upon prior to my services. NOT ONLY did they NOT perform my original balayage request correctly, they did my hair correction WRONG too! They toned my hair from a weird honey copper, down to my original brown color! THEN when I called for a refund they said they do not offer refunds but can fix my hair. They dyed my hair black and burned my scalp!!!! I told the owner who was dying my hair that my scalp was burning and she said it was because I had sensitive skin. NOPE! I'm literally burned, my scalp has puss spots! I'm sooo itchy, and it's bumpy from the irritation! The only remedy they had to give me was a hair serum she applied lightly in the salon. NEVER GOING BACK! $390 down the drain. I wish I'd read these reviews before I went here. They book your appointment and quote a price and then the price changes completely at checkout. They bill themselves as a Christian organization, but this is the most unethical business I've visited in quite some time. The price went from $170 to $205. It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I paid way too much for what I actually got. 1. My hair looked absolutely nothing like the inspiration picture I showed my hairstylist. Rather than being a light brown with dark roots, I was completely blonde with dark roots. I was shocked by the end result considering they were highly recommended to me. 2. I was already upset that my hair didn't look nothing like what I wanted and I got home and took another hit. First time washing my hair, it started turning yellow and orange. Why? I'm afraid they aren't using top quality products and they are way overpriced. I obviously have to wash my hair and with every wash, it just got more yellow and orange. Absolutely disgusting and ugly. 3. when I decided to tip 20% of my tab, I noticed it was a little over 20%. I work in the service industry so I know how to calculate percentages and I'm a little upset they have their calculations wrong. Rather than tipping 39 ( 20% of the tab), they charged me almost $45! I don't see how you could call yourself a top hair salon when products being used are not TOP quality. This has to be the worst hair experience I have ever had. I was looking for a new salon, so I went in today for a service. Not one single person in the entire salon was wearing a mask. I would hope that they make their staff be vaccinated, but there were no signs or other indications that they were; and of course, their customers may or may not be. After a few minutes, someone walked up to me, called my name, and said come on back. She did not introduce herself, which I find rude (or socially backwards at the best) whether it is a business or a social situation. My stylist did not have one sentence of non-hair-related conversation to offer me during our entire time together. It felt very awkward. All-in-all, my hair looked fine, but I did not enjoy the experience at all--and I reflected this dissatisfaction in my tip. The receptionist was the only good part of my visit. Emily the stylist who did my hair even said "it won't look the best under flourescent lights" umm it doesn't look good under any lights. I love getting a mani/ pedi once a month and usually go to a popular nail salon in town. But Avante is the best kept secret in mansfield for nails. The place is super relaxing, quiet and not crowded! You do have to make an appointment- no walk ins.. but I really enjoyed the quiet, blissful and "zen" of Avante for nails. I can't express how much I LOVE this place. They are on the pricey side but it's WELL worth the price. All the staff is beyond friendly and make you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out. The environment is perfect for relaxing. I paid for a couples spa and when I walked in, they offered an additional couples rain shower and chocolate strawberries for $20 more, so I agreed. Long story short, they almost forgot our rain shower and then when they brought us in to take it, me and my bf couldn't figure out how to use it because it was confusing so we ended up not taking it. Needless to say, the staff was extremely nice and understanding and didn't charge us extra for it even though they already served us the additional chocolate strawberries. I went in for a consultation & discussed what I wanted. I scheduled an appointment that day. When I went to my hair appointment. I showed a picture to the girl that did my hair. I wanted something natural (I clearly said, not blonde or orange). Since it looks professional, I didn't worry! Once she was done it looked extremely light & I asked her why? She said that it was the toner & within 2 shampoos it will look natural, blend nicely & much darker! I went home thinking that it would look better as time passed. Guess what? Nope!!!! I have naturally dark hair and have been dyeing it blonde for a while, with that said, it's never taken her recommendation of 4 sessions. My hair barely looked noticeably lighter the first appointment (it looked like the a before picture). When I expressed my concern the hair stylist said I already have other clients booked coming in and seemed like she did not want to help me. I came out of this appointment extremely disappointed and never returned to this salon. I ended up going to a different salon who could do the 2 sessions and it ended up costing me less with the results I had asked for. Gonna chalk this one up to "my bad"...should have checked the price list before going in. Haley had her assistant help with my color while she started on another customer. While the assistant performed all the "extras" on me, Haley was off making double money during my scheduled appointment time with her other customer. It took almost three and a half hours to do what normally takes about two. Hair cut and highlight/lowlight was just fine. I also got my eyebrows waxed. Nothing special there...the assistant never even pulled out a pair of tweezers. It was the bill that made me almost lose my lunch. After tip, the total was $300. Only ok. I went to Avante after a pretty rough week... my brother had passed away, my mom has been sick, and I'm starting a new job on Monday. I had requested an 80 minute deep tissue massage with focus on my neck and shoulders. I wanted a pampering experience where you feel like you can escape. What I got was more like a "Massage Envy" type of experience with sub-par massage. It seemed like the masseuse was doing things to fill in time. She spend a lot of time on my feet , legs and arms, while I had these terrible adhesions in my neck and upper back. I had been going to Milk and Honey in Fort Worth, spent less money, and had a wonderful experience where the massage technique was life-changing. I will have to go back to Milk and Honey and just make the drive. Too bad... I had attended Avante a few years ago and it seems like the pampering experience has gone down. Not sure why, but they may want to send someone to Milk and Honey in Fort Worth to see how it's done. read more

This was the most expensive mistake I've ever made. I requested a level 4 stylist. I spent $250ish for this. I walked around for 6 weeks embarrassed and trying to live with it. If I parted it just right it looked okay. I just spent $310 elsewhere getting it fixed and it's now beautiful. I won't ever go back here.. you definitely don't get what you pay for. I love my stylist Bella Ferrante, she's makes going to the salon such a good time. I feel like a bad b every time I leave!!

The salon is absolutely terrible I spoke on the phone with someone and booked with Tori when I got there actually before I got there on the phone I was told that they would have a consultation about the pricing they never did that when I got there I was also told I would have a complementary hand rub with my hair processed I never got that either. There were three different people working on my hair because the girl who started my color was working on someone else as well I felt very rushed I showed her pictures of exactly what I wanted my hair is easy to achieve that because I am already light colored I left with brown hair and zero blonde it was gold. If you want someone to listen to what you actually want this is not the place to go I do not recommend it they charged me $400 and left color all over my neck and all over my face. I wrote a Google review as well as a Facebook review if you would like to see the photos I don't know that I can post on here after you see the photos then you will see I definitely deserve a refund this place was terrible $400 and you couldn't even get the color off of me it was all down my neck and all around my face awful my hair looks like trash I do not recommend this place save your money and save your hair and go elsewhere!! read more
