I've been following Avantgarden for a while on social media. I'd learned about it on a Visit Placer County site that promotes local business. Since I was passing through Auburn, I was finally able to stop in just before their closing time of 5 pm. Staff was lovely-friendly and welcoming even so close to end of day. The small outdoor patio space is filled with garden decor and plants, while inside features home decor, more plants and a beautiful array of jewelry. I came in looking for a particular style of plant stand and found a lovely piece that is just what I needed. I would love to spend more time here when I'm up in the area next. There are so many little corners stocked full of unique home and garden items. Beautiful shop! read more

This place is soooo cute! I wanted everything they sell. It's a perfect mix of plants and treasures. We came away with a lovely Mother's Day gift made of bird seed, a soap stone heart and some succulents I miraculously did not have in my collection including one with heart shaped leaves. This will definitely be a stop the next time we visit Auburn. They staff was warm and friendly too. read more

Love this place! Came across this when I was walking around downtown Auburn today. It looks small from the outside, but the space is arranged well with plants on the outside and more jewelry, air plants, planters and garden accessories on the inside. Great spot to find gifts! Staff are well-informed and friendly and you should wear a mask when going in, there is a sign posted outside. (Now if dear reader, you are reading this when we have the all-clear, there is a cure, a vaccine and a miracle drug out there to rid us of this horrible virus, then obviously don't bother!) I ended up buying some special soil for my succulents and another air plant for my collection. The prices are reasonable and the selection of plants and products is top notch. My daughter-in-law and girlfriend just did a succulent class this morning. It was awesome. Due to this heatwave the owner and teacher were able to quickly adjust plans and start earlier. We wandered around looking for an anniversary present for two artists. I loved the selection of plants, and found some artisan-made small ceramic pots and other cute things. When I told them they were gifts, they wrapped everything up really nicely, and even potted the succulents in the ceramic pots for me, with cute stones on top. Stumbled upon this place by accident while antiquing in Auburn. Was greeted by a nice lady as we walked in she was telling us that they were having a sale and a raffle giveaway as well. At the raffle table they had drinks and snacks. It's a cute little place that has outdoor things, cactuses, succulents, house plants, pots, fairy garden items, Flags and so much more. Even though they were a super small place it's still took me a while to kind of fully walk through the place to kinda look at everything that they had to offer there. So many cute parts oh my God it was so hard to resist not to buy them all. I did manage to get away with a focus and for four succulents. There were three workers there and they were each also helpful answering any questions I had or point me in the directions to the basket because I need a chance to grab things. LoL they are a small business so I totally love supporting them check them out if you're ever there. read more

Not your typical nursery. This place is small, but it's packed with lots of great garden and home accessories. I love how tranquil and peaceful it is here. With the sound of water dripping from the cute little fountains to the fragrant plants that surround the garden area, it's a nice alternative to the bigger chain stores. My daughter was down from Redding visiting me before her home purchase was finalized and she told them she would be coming back to buy pots and plants and flowers from them.m, as she was so impressed with it. As it turns out, I will be stopping by tomorrow before I head up to Redding and picking up the pots that she wants for her home!! Located in Downtown right at the "Y" in the road at High and Lincoln so the building, which is pretty old, is shaped like a wedge. The building is full of character and they have really played off of that with the layout and products. I think this location used to be an auto repair shop, there is an old sort of accordion folding styled gate that encompasses the front of the shop which is open air. This is the garden portion, neat plants and pottery. There are two large openings that you pass through to get inside the building and this is where you will find gift type stuff or high end items for your own home like environmentally friendly household cleaners, ornaments and decorations. I've found great gifts here, things that are or at least seem uncommon enough to be fun. I used to work across the street from this place when it sat empty and ugly and would actually fantasize about buying it and doing something fun with such a neat location. I'm really glad someone did, they have made a great little shop. read more

ahhh this little garden shop is just soo cute. Very cool that it is located in downtown Auburn. Loaded with stuff for the patio, home and garden. It is even more interesting because it is small. I have been here a few times before, but never reviewed. That was before my Yelp days. So it has been awhile. They have many fountains and plants available to make anyplace look better. It is not your average big box nursery by any means. Very relaxing . I like the displays because it gives me ideas for my own garden. Plus, it smells really good here. They have merchandise inside and outside-for a moment there, I forgot where I was as it creates such a nice atmosphere.
