The families welcomed us in with open arms, the dancers support each other and the teachers support each other. I believe this starts from the top down with the ownership and management. Paula is extremely hands on with the teachers, students and families. And it shows. She doesn't care just about their dancing but cares about their character as an individual. The quality of the teaching staff is exceptional; with the primary focus on technique. But they continue to grow and expand their teaching and choreography styles.They treat the kids as the individuals they are and unify them as a team as well. In the current COVID-19 environment everything has been moved online. The entire staff has been energetic and motivating. They have provided a sense of stability in an unstable environment for our kids. Every week the teachers take time with each kid just to check in and see how they are doing. Current format is more broken down steps, on repeat, then more added to one song. Basically, you're learning a choreography. It's kind of challenging for me. Makes my brain and body work a bit harder to be in sync. There's also an abs section. I do love the new format, but I personally like the nonstop hip hop dance better just because I like nonstop cardio! LOL They offer a lot of classes & the owner is nice, mellow, yet fun personality. She always makes it a point to say our names/greet us. Appreciate that gesture!

She was teaching technique along with some fun dance parties for the girls (age 6). I was a little worried that I wouldn't get it, but I think at the end of the day, I had a lot of fun learning in the 45 minute class and really enjoyed it. I will say, it does get quite hot in there. I did see that they have country nights/line dancing classes so I'd definitely be interested in coming back to try those classes.

For those with little to no experience, the Intro to ballet class is ideal. I have taken the classes of many teachers here and they are all fantastic. Joan especially is passionate and helps guide technique and has great attention to detail. I'm also grateful for Sara and Janessa. Hair and clothing is quite flexible. I choose to wear workout leggings and a form fitting top, and ballet class shoes (canvas or leather). Many wear classic tights and leotard, so it is a great place if you want to lean in to ballet wear (though not necessary). If you want a great ballet style bar workout class, called Ballet Barre Conditioning, Joan teaches a great one, ballet experience not needed, though some dancers take this class for strength. I believe socks are worn in this class. If you are visiting for the first time, arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out the introduction form/waiver, pay, and to potentially speak to a teacher to ask questions or introduce yourself. It is quite easy to drop in and sign yourself in by the studio door.

I really enjoyed the experience, I felt like the instructor did a really good job of customizing the class to our various levels of experience which is really hard to do when you have some people who are just starting and some people who have been to many pole classes. She came around and helped each of us individually and provided modifications depending on our level of challenge. I also told her about an injury I had previously and she gave me some tips to provide relief and avoid reinjury. The only thing I didn't love was how dark it was in here haha I love the dark and sexy pole vibes but it was kind of hard to see when we first came in.

We are in our second season at Avanti Dance Studio, and I couldn't be more grateful for the experience my daughter is having here. Moving from another studio is always a challenge, but the staff and dancers at Avanti made my daughter feel incredibly welcome from day one. The transition was smooth, and I truly couldn't have asked for a better environment for her growth. We commute 2.5 hours to be at Avanti, and every minute is absolutely worth it. The level of learning, support, and personal growth she experiences here is unmatched. The teachers are top-notch, and the positive, nurturing environment that Taryn Chavez and Nikki Charest, in particular, provide has been invaluable to my daughter's confidence and development. Their dedication and care have made such a difference in her journey. One of the best dance studios in OC! My daughter used to take classes at Avanti and this was her best studio experience so far! Miss Taryn is the nicest, humble, caring, awesome, super talented choreographer and tap dancer, she is always on top of things and it is always providing excellent and positive feedback to the dancers. Dance, like any other sport can be pricey, however Avanti is always thinking about making the experience enjoyable and very affordable for the dancers and their parents. Their prices are not as bad as other places and the instruction is at the same level as any other expensive studio. If you are looking for a dance studio, this is the place to be! read more

Avanti has an amazing staff that are qualified and teach you not only technique, but also teach you how to really express yourself when you dance without being judged by other dancers or Faculty. Each and every person in the faculty treats you equally and like family. ALSO Shannon Domino makes AMAZING food just saying! We've been incredibly impressed with Avanti. The variety of classes they offer is outstanding, catering to all interests and skill levels. My daughter has now completed her first year competing with AVANTI's Pre-Teen Company. She grew so much as a dancer this past year under the expert tutelage of AVANTI instructors. Their AMAZING summer intensives were a phenomenal capper to a fun and rewarding competition season. He was interested in the Hip Hop Class for boys with Miss Jessica and also wanted to take the tumbling class with Miss Ashley to learn some gymnastic skills. Unacceptable. Dangerous. Complete Lack of Responsibility…read more At my toddler's ballet class, the instructor removed my daughter from class to use the restroom and HANDED HER OVER to a random adult I do NOT know - someone who does NOT work for the studio. I was sitting just outside the waiting room door the entire time. Instead of taking a few seconds to find me, the instructor allowed a stranger to take my child into a bathroom stall and begin undressing her. Let that sink in. When I confronted the instructor, her response was shocking: "I don't have time to look for parents." Excuse me? Your convenience does NOT come before my child's safety. This is not a minor issue, it's a major breach of trust and judgment. Handing a child to someone the parent has not approved to take them into a private space is completely unacceptable and potentially dangerous. I don't care if the person was "nice" or "helpful" you never, EVER do this. I stay for every class. The instructor knows that. In today's world, how can anyone think this is okay? What happened tonight could have ended very differently and that is terrifying. Parents, beware. If you value your child's safety, think twice before trusting this studio.

Both my girls absolutely love coming to their dance classes, performing in recitals, and making new friends! My son also loves to go with his sisters to Miss Tawny's movie nights, and to play in the playroom. All of the dance instructors are super patient and knowledge about the style of dance they are teaching. We love All Star Dance Academy and will continue there for many years!

My daughter has danced at the ABT Gillespie school since it first opened in 2015 and is currently…read more enrolled in the pre-professional division. We love that the school offers the highest caliber of training to its students. The instructors, pianists, and administration are amazing and she has grown so much as a dancer throughout her years here. The studios at the Segerstrom Center offer a wonderful space in which to train and she has made longtime friends that share her love of dance. Master classes with touring companies as well as performance opportunities which include ABT's The Nutcracker and National Dance Day have been highlights to her ballet education. We also appreciate how the school is so organized and professionally run. This is our tenth year at ABT Gillespie School and I think that it is evident how highly we regard this school.
