In addition to technique and artistry, students are taught to strengthen their minds, to push themselves to be their best, and to be resilient. Ballet is a beautiful artform that is exceedingly tough and rigorous. I appreciate that our daughter's ballet training is taken seriously by the teachers even though she prioritizes her academic studies. She is corrected, challenged, and encouraged to be her best just like the other students. She is SEEN and cared for and that means the world to me. Most of all, she is inspired by the beauty of ballet. I appreciate that the school seeks to nurture friendships among the students. At the end of each class, I can't help but smile when I see the dancers (often exhausted) exiting the classroom chatting, laughing and enjoying each other's company. I also appreciate the support we have received from parents who have helped drive our daughter, helped sew costumes, lent clothing, shared resources, and volunteered backstage. I'd encourage anyone interested in learning more about the school to drop into several classes or perhaps try out a summer intensive. This way you can experience the entire ballet curriculum as well as jazz and modern dance (Ms. Brandi and Ms. Gunta are amazing for those fortunate enough to learn from them. From the very first phone call to booking our first session, my friend and I felt completely at ease. We were searching for something recreational for our daughters to enjoy together, and as moms of girls on the spectrum, finding the right environment is so important and not always easy. After a not-so-great experience elsewhere, we were honestly a little nervous... but this studio completely changed everything for us. They went above and beyond right from the start, sending reminders about the tryout, letting us know what to bring, and even offering ballet flats and shoes to borrow so the girls would feel comfortable and included. That level of thoughtfulness meant so much. And then there's Mrs. Paris... truly something magical. She's the perfect balance of firm, professional, and incredibly fun. Her energy is contagious, and you can just feel how much the girls adore her. She's exceptional at what she does, using inclusive language, keeping the class engaging, and creating a space where every child feels seen and supported. The class itself is such a great mix, ballet in the first half and tap in the second and the girls were engaged the entire time. My daughter is LEARNING the fundamentals of dance and has fun at the same time. The TDC community is very welcoming and supportive as well. Dance moms are not usually known for being the friendliest sort, and all of the moms and dads I've crossed paths with here have been so incredibly kind. It's a really nice place for kids to take classes. I highly recommend coach Kaylee and coach Talia. They are both amazing, and my daughter looks forward to going to class every week. The class had a lot of energy and creativity through song and story telling, which is great for encouraging kids to use their imagination. The teacher was fun and energetic which made the experience even better. If the schedule works for us, we'll definitely be signing her up for more classes. I highly recommend trying out this dance studio! They offer classes for both kids and adults. Hopefully once things calm down with the kids, I'll be able to try one of the adult classes too. :)
