I asked for a butterfly cut, which is simply layers with face-framing bangs. They quickly assured me they could cut my long hair, but I was not expecting this outcome. I specifically asked for a V-shaped cut in the back and instead received an uneven U-shape. The stylist didn't even use proper thinning shears. Instead, she used dull gold scissors, which I believe contributed to my botched haircut. I've also never had a stylist shampoo my hair, immediately blow-dry it pin straight, and then cut it. She complimented my natural curls, yet styled my hair completely straight with no volume, making it difficult to see how the cut would actually look with my natural texture. I walked out thinking, "Did that really just happen, and why did I tip this lady $15?!" Hopefully that tip goes toward buying better, sharper shears. But we didn't have a lot of advance notice to find a stylist who could both get her in and do both the cut and the color (we tried a couple of other places that could do only the cut or only the color, not both). We are absolutely thrilled that we found Mane Atteraction here in Vero Beach. Laurie was fantastic to deal with even before our visit. She was friendly and responsive on the phone, got my wife an appointment, and got to work as soon as my wife walked through the door. Laurie is friendly and accommodating, has a great personality, and I can now say, having just left the salon, that she did a FANTASTIC job! I myself LOVE the color, it's got the desired and intended purple and a little bit of auburn. It is spot on, Laurie nailed it! And more importantly, my wife, Cheryl, absolutely loves it! She agrees the color is just perfect, just what she wanted. I could overhear a little bit of the conversation between the two of them, Cheryl just gave some background info, Laurie listened, and that was it, she did her thing and it came out great! And just like the color, the length is also perfect. It's a pixie cut. Sometimes the front is still too long, when other stylists do it. Not in the case. Again, just the right length and style. Laurie also managed her time and her clients perfectly. She knows what she's doing, she knew when to start people's color, then move on to another client, then move back, and so on. Oh, and free wifi for the husband while waiting, too! As I jokingly exclaimed upon leaving Mane Attraction, "that's it, we're gonna have to move to Vero Beach now." PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW! Very upsetting experience at the Hair…read moreCuttery on US-1 and 12th involving Nicole and Kevin. I left work early for a 1 PM appointment that had been scheduled and confirmed through Hair Cuttery's text system. When I arrived, Nicole incorrectly told me my appointment had actually been the day before and labeled me a "no show." Even after I showed proof that my appointment was confirmed for that same day, there was no apology or professional handling of the situation. Instead, the interaction became dismissive and uncomfortable. Since the barber I originally booked with was unavailable, Nicole recommended Kevin for my haircut. I clearly explained that I wanted to keep my medium-length hairstyle and only clean it up slightly. Unfortunately, Kevin cut far more hair than requested and trimmed my sideburns so unevenly and short that parts of my scalp were visibly showing. When I pointed out the issue, excuses were made and an attempt was made to darken the area with color instead of properly acknowledging the mistake. What should have been a professional correction quickly turned into a humiliating experience. The most shocking part was what happened afterward. During the discussion about fixing the haircut, Nicole became aggressive, got close to my face, ripped the salon cape off me, yelled "GET OUT," and continued screaming in front of customers and staff. The manager, Liza, witnessed the incident. I spent months growing my hair out only to have it ruined in minutes and then be treated with disrespect afterward. She was so willing to accommodate me she came in early (8:45 AM) to do my hair before we left town. She did exactly what I asked for and gave me a beautiful, sleek bob.
