I am so disappointed. This was my 2nd visit with Darlene. She did a very nice job the first time, that's why I went back for another haircut. I showed her a picture of what I wanted. I walked in with hair past my chin, and out with a chopped up extremely short cut not even covering my ears. Resembling NOTHING like the style/cut in the picture. I don't even want to leave my house and go out in public. Friends and family already commented on my hair, and not in a positive way. I expected much more from an upscale salon. Went in for a facial at Calvetti and it was so therapeutic. Elena created such a peaceful and relaxing environment to be in. After the steaming, exfoliation, and extraction, my skin was left feeling rejuvenated as ever. Elena even rubbed my hands, feet, and neck (talk about bonus). I left feeling cleansed to say the least. So disappointed. Level three stylist misunderstood (didn't listen?) and had to start over after getting color wrong - after applying it. My one request re (short hair) cut was "please leave my ears covered." She didn't do it. Hair is not even the same length left side vs right side. Lines so disconnected that I can't get hair to lay down - actually looks like I'm growing horns. I'm 62 and have enjoyed excellent cuts for my entire professional life. Went to what I thought was a reputable spa. Way WAY too much money for what was delivered. Hoping it was just a bad day for stylist - and that she's back to professional normal next day. I should be back to professional/normal-looking in about three weeks. Sigh... read more

Ok, So the Salon's services and hairstylists are excellent. What could use a little work? Their customer service. Calvetti's inexplicably tortured my mother for the last six months over the more than $300 gift cards my family had purchased for her. My mother is a regular client, coming in to the salon every 6 weeks, you'd think that would mean they would at the very least return her calls? Of course not. They messed up her gift cards, so they took the physical cards away from her promising to have it all straightened out in their internal system. When she returned the next trip, it still wasn't fixed. They talk down to her, act as if it is her fault and generally shift blame always promising to have it straightened out the next time, or to have someone call her. Which has yet to happen. Finally, my mom requested an accounting of her gift cards and the charges against them. It was discovered that Calvertti had overcharged my Mom by over $50! At least they finally came clean about their mistakes but a valuable customer like my mother shouldn't have to beg for her birthday and Christmas gifts from a luxury service provider in this economy. Her stylist Bart is worth 5 stars all day long. His personality is amazing, he gives great cuts and really what more can you ask for from a stylist? But I will not be getting my Mom a gift card to here ever again since their customer service staff seems hell bent on ruining what would otherwise be a great experience. read more

It's been a while but needed to post. I went to Calvetti for a cut and style. Absolutely beautiful. I was so happy. My hairdresser suggested some soft highlights around my face so I went back 2 weeks later for highlights and a root touch up. Once again absolutely beautiful. We opted not to blow out as I was going to a yoga class. My problem was when I was presented with the charge of $198. I pondered and pondered so I called because I thought perhaps I was billed for a cut. My statement did not have a breakdown. I spoke to the lady who recommended Calvetti and she said she gets, highlights (whole head, touch up, up and style and gets her daughter's hair trimmed and blown out) and paid the same. So I called and spoke to my hairdresser and my break down was $55 for partial highlights, $20 for color enhancer, $36 for shampoo, and $88 for touch up. There was no mistake. While I am delighted with how my hair looks, I'm just alerting other clients to ask what the services cost. I'm very disappointed as I cannot afford the luxury of the salon. It's a beautiful and professional salon. I highly recommend but be aware of the cost and ask for an itemized statement. read more

I went in for an intense wax session with Allison. I got my entire lower body waxed and my arm pits waxed. I had full, growth everywhere. Allison was very professional, I appreciated how she broke the wax application sticks in half to use both ends as a way to conserve. I did leave with a few patches of hair in random places but I would always expect that with how much waxing she had to do. She did suggest I could come back in to clean it up free of charge, which was nice. The only thing I would recommend perhaps is better lighting, or a dimmer if possible. Laying on my back for 2.5 hours under fluorescent lighting kind of sucks & takes away from the ambiance. read more

I need to get my hair fixed I asked for my stylists to make me all brunette and she accidentally dyed my hair pitch black. Then she blamed it on me saying that it must be the shampoo and conditioner I use at home bc my hair soaked up the color...that's never happened to me before and my hair was healthy. The cut was also crooked and uneven. I went back a couple days later for her to fix it. She evened out my hair but left it much shorter than I wanted and very heavy looking on the ends. Instead of stripping the permanent black color from my hair she foiled my hair in hopes of lightening it up and doing less damage. So then I had black hair with blonde highlights (Not the look I wanted at all) Then she put toner on it. She blowed dried the front and had me leave with wet hair. The color is better, but I'm afraid the toner is going to fade out in a month and I'm going to be stuck with this terrible color and short blunt hair. I'm sad to say I won't be back. I used to love this salon, but after spending $140 and then getting blamed for the poor outcome... Insult to injury. read more

I can't comment on the quality of services but I can say when I called to make an appointment for a cut and color I told the receptionist that I had a gift card I would like to use. She then informed me that the earliest appointment she could make for me would be 4 weeks out. I thought that was a little ridiculous so I called again a little later from my cell and made no mention of the gift card. Now I have an appointment in six days. Maybe someone called in the 45 minutes between my first and second calls to cancel and I took their appointment but I'm very doubtful. If it weren't for my gift card, I wouldn't even bother trying this salon out. read more

Trying to find good place for a FULL brazilian waxing. Went here a couple of weeks ago. Pros: could get an appointment right away, friendly staff, clean salon, reasonable prices, follow up call by staff a few days later. Cons: not a FULL brazilian, waxing was patchy ....left to many strays, wax made my skin dry & flake a couple of days later....not the area you want your skin to be dry & flaky. I wont be returning for waxing, might consider it for other salon services....facial, massage, hair cut, etc... read more

I'm from out of town, and came for the first time for my nails and a hair/makeup consultation the day before my wedding. I was blown away! The service is excellent--the staff is so friendly! I got my wedding make-up done by Anne-Marie and my hair done by Christine. Nails were done by Shannon and Lori. I loved how everything turned out! Looked excellent on photos. They also were really responsive of my preferences/needs while still being very creative with my look. Both saw me and knew exactly what would look good and what would look bad--they both told me that they had an idea of what to do based on my natural skin & hair. They totally pampered me. I've lived in Vero Beach for 2 months now and discovered this great salon and spa. Wonderful coloring and highlights by Martin - reasonably priced and the color has lasted. i'm now a fan of Redkin products. As i was leaving the salon provided a card for a discounted spa treatment. Last week i had a facial and it may have been better than any facial i had in NYC. I am now a BIG fan of Anne Marie. She's been with the salon for over 10 years as has another greatest stylist an colorist, Paige. I think it says a lot about a salon/spa which has competent and talented professionals who remain at a salon. Finally, the setting is gorgeous - gettin your hair cut or colored while looking out on the inlets of the Intercoastal - watching birds and sometimes a manatee go by. can't beat it! read more

Sadly I am having to agree with Kara B - something has gone wrong recently with customer service. I have been a fan of Calvettis for a long while - however had terrible problems trying to book appointments in advance. Sent many unanswered e.mails to Calvettis - to all the e.mail address I have for them. In the end I did receive a reply after several weeks. I am out of the country sometimes & cannot call on the phone. To be honest if it wasn't for the fact that I was such a fan of all the staff - I definitely would have just given up........................I didn't really get the appointments as I would have liked to schedule them - due to the fact that none of my e.mails were answered...but I carried on..................then unfortunately for the first time at Calvettis I had a problem with one of the services. I do not blame the member staff for this - sometimes it happens - but it was quite a bad problem - which again I sent correspondence about & once again was totally ignored. This really upset me - I just needed the problem sorted out.................well sadly, my husband who was paying for all these treats for a gift - bought me a gift certificate for another salon.....& it has meant Calvettis have lost about $3,000 so far in losing my custom. This really is a shame for the lovely staff & I do hope something is sorted with customer service - because something is going wrong. Miss the great staff - but sadly won't go back now . I don't want this review to stop anyone from going to Calvettis - they are still great - but please front desk & owners - something is going wrong! It took alot to upset me! this has meant me giving only 3 stars which is no reflection on all the girls & guys who do the work - who deserve 5 stars! read more
