I was fairly clueless about weddings, but I knew given my timeline, that I needed a planner. I setup a video call with Purvi to talk to her and understand her role. She sounded like a complete professional and we felt confident in moving ahead. I paid for Avant Planner's complete package (from venue selection to the final minute). Purvi was very helpful in helping us finalize venues, and helping us prioritize the task list that we should be focusing on. Besides just helping check off tasks from the list, she was very valuable in being a resource who could answer our questions. The basics were obviously handled well -- helping select vendors, coordinating with vendors, keeping everyone on the same page, managing the venue requirements -- the list is large. The note worthy effort was on the wedding day -- Purvi and her staff got appetizers to our room during the cocktail hour, and got the bride & groom to have dinner before they had to go back to the events. Purvi was a great help to us for our day of coordination. I was in charge of creating the timeline and I had some surprises that I wanted to hide from my family and I told Purvi not tell my mom. Interestingly enough, my family also had some surprises they didn't want to tell us and they told Purvi. Purvi was super good at and gave both parties timelines that didn't spill the surprises. I am an event planner by trade, but when it came to our wedding this past July, I knew I needed someone who knew the ins-and-outs of weddings and could help to execute my vision. I knew I also wanted someone who had experience in both Indian weddings (specifically Punjabi Sikh weddings) and western style weddings as well. Purvi coordinated both our Gurdwara ceremony and lunch on Friday and then our western ceremony and reception on Saturday. Purvi really fit the bill - she was very experienced and organized and she also had a lot of knowledge of how both Punjabi Sikh weddings and western weddings should run. Furthermore, I am a strong believer that you don't need to be rude or pushy to get the job done. Purvi was direct and efficient (as is required to keep things on schedule) but kind, professional and SO responsive. I cannot emphasize how key this is and how RARE it was to find someone who responded right away to any questions or concerns I had. I like how Purvi's day-of coordination package comes with working with her for the month prior because there are a lot of details to iron out and you need that time to get to know each other and for her to get to know the event. I would say if you don't have a lot of experience planning events, working with vendor contracts, thinking through event details, that you should hire Purvi for the full event planning because she will really make sure your event and the event-planning process goes smoothly for you. We went with Purvi for our wedding on Aug 25, 2018, based on positive Yelp reviews. Purvi started out very enthusiastic and helped us secure decorators, catering, florist, etc. However, as we got closer to the wedding, Purvi started becoming unavailable (to the point where she would not take calls and insisted on all communication by email). More importantly on the day of the wedding we had several hiccups with the venue (not her fault), but Purvi was not available to handle those. As the day of the event coordinator, I expected a lot more involvement from her and expected her to be on top of the issues as they came along. We found ourselves chasing her. Part of the issue was that she was managing 2 weddings on the same day and that really impacted her ability to help us when we needed her the most. I am sure Purvi has done well for others, but from my personal experience you are better off looking elsewhere or at least making sure she commits to the services you expect from her (verbally or in writing). read more

Purvi is very professional and makes sure everything gets done on time. She is friendly and was most helpful specially in the last month before the wedding, she kept us on track with constants calls and mails , handling different vendors and bringing it all together. I had known Purvi from my brother's wedding, my sister-in law spoke very highly of Purvi and after seeing her amazing work at their wedding I already knew I wanted Purvi to plan my wedding.
