I was nervous about going during the Covid lockdown, but my pain was bad enough that I decided to take the chance. I wore a double mask (so, four layers). There is hand sanitizer when you enter, plexiglass between the lobby and employee area, and during the massage, we both wore masks. Everything was spotless and I felt safe. All they had time for was a 30 min massage but I would take anything I could get for some relief. My appointment was with Kaylee and she was truly wonderful. I had been for a similar massage the week before at home in Toronto, which I thought had been pretty good at the time. But comparatively, Kaylee's was far, far better. The room was nice and warm, and she had a pregnancy massage pillow ready for me. Hurrah!! I could lay on my front with my boobs and belly supported properly but not squished. It was glorious. Her touch was just right. Strong but not too strong as too be painful before I had a chance to relax. Her personality was a joy too. The 30 mins flew by and I was sad that i couldn't book another appointment with her when I left. But when I'm back visit my Mum again I will. And you should too. The front desk area of the clinic was in a bit of a mess the day I was there. It wasn't their fault though. They had recently had a car drive through their front window into the waiting area. Yep. That's right. One of those "I stepped on the gas instead of the brake" deals, and CRASH... right through the window. So there were some workers there fixing drywall and such. But I will say that I didn't notice any noise at all when I was in the massage room.

--- ALERT --- I had…read morea stiff neck for 4 days so I booked an appointment over the phone asking for treatment there, told them it was for a stiff neck and likely needed a massage. I showed up and inquired at the reception how the process worked. The nice girl at the front said I pay; $85 for a one-time assessment and then $60 for the treatment, I asked about what a $60 treatment gets me, in terms of time, and she said once I paid there was no time limit for the treatment, whatever time it takes. So after speaking with her I agreed to proceed and shortly after I started the assessment. After 35 minutes of mostly paperwork and a questionnaire and only seconds after my assessment had completed I was told they had no time to give any treatment and in fact I would have to wait a month for the treatment the assessment result said I needed; which in her words was "all you need is a couple of massages". In shock by what she revealed and in a lot of discomfort; I went back to the reception and explained that I only agreed to proceed with the terms discussed under the condition that I get treatment today. Frustrated I asked her..I didn't need to spend $85 to be offered to book a massage a month later did I? She offered no explanation or recourse and only asked for my money. I believe it's downright medically unethical if not fraudulent to subject someone in pain seeking treatment an option like this only after you have their assessment money. I would have never agreed to have an assessment if they had told me first that they had no time today[or this month] to give me the treatment I needed. I feel I was totally scammed by this business and left in more pain than what i had when I got there. After a follow up call to to the business once back home to further explain how unreasonable it was to take my money and offer no treatment in a reasonable time frame they had no remorse and no intention to try and rectify the incident. I plan to contact The Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) and seek guidance for next steps. UPDATE 2/8/2018: After I posted this review I was contacted by management and I am satisfied with their actions. They offered the appropriate response for a failure such as this. I am updating them to a 3/5 star rating because of that.

After booking, I never received a confirmation, so I reasonably assumed the appointment had not gone through. Weeks later, I was contacted and informed that I had missed an appointment and would be charged a no‑show fee. I later discovered that both a confirmation email and a reminder email sent prior to the appointment had gone to my junk folder. To add to the confusion, I was also told that the system indicated I had clicked an unsubscribe link and opted out of communications, which I did not do. I only became aware of the emails after finding them in my junk folder. This further underscores how unreliable and unclear the communication process is. This highlights a systemic issue with the appointment platform that needs to be addressed to prevent missed appointments and no‑shows. I understand that the clinic has clear policies in place, and I appreciate that they attempted to offer the remainder of my appointment time before applying the fee. However, the platform does not provide fail‑safe, transparent communication for confirmed appointments--particularly for new patients. Until the system is improved to include explicit confirmation, redundant notifications, and clearer appointment status tracking, situations like this will continue to occur. Charging patients for failures stemming from the booking and communication system reflects poorly on the business. Unfortunately, as a result of this experience, I will be looking elsewhere in Orléans for a new massage clinic.

She has also learned that I have a high pain tolerance and isn't shy about really getting in there to loosen my knots, but always makes sure to check I am still okay with the pressure. I leave every appointment feeling sore (no pain, no gain!), but knowing that Shannon did everything in her power to help with my tense muscles.
