I was recommended Thanh, a male barber at this salon, by my cousin who's been a loyal customer of his for YEARS! She texted him personally to make a Saturday afternoon appointment for me and sent pictures of the wolf-cut I desired. I arrived on time for my 2pm appointment and was greeted by Thanh and seated immediately. I showed him the pictures again. Then he asked me if I wanted to shampoo my hair, which I agreed to. Then we got straight to work. At the end of my cut, he made sure I liked the result, to which I asked for my bangs a bit shorted and he readily obliged. I paid $45 (excluding an additional tip) in cash, but I didn't inquire further if they also accept card or if there's an additional fee for paying by card. I looked around the salon for a menu of costs of services, which he said there wasn't one. No problem, I plan on coming back for haircuts only anyway which I know are $45! Otherwise, I'll text him personally asking for other services if I want them! All in all, I was in and out the door at 2:00 and 2:30 respectively, literally (I looked at the clock). Honestly very disappointed in my haircut. I was initially enticed by the $45 price but it felt extremely rushed, mediocre, and hardly like the inspo photos I showed the stylist. I would rather go a salon that actually cares about their customer service and attention to detail at a higher cost - you're getting what you pay for, if not less. Firstly, my stylist was on her phone for a full 4 minutes in the middle of my 18-minute (fast? or rushed?) haircut without explanation; I would be more understanding if I were given a heads up about a personal emergency or something, but to simply step away from your client and text nonstop at the front desk without saying anything, is unacceptable. Secondly, I've never been to a salon where my hair was not washed prior to it being cut; until I came here. My hair was not even styled at the end (see photo of when I got home right after my appointment). Thirdly, it's the bare minimum to ask your customer if they like their haircut, or smile at the end. When I was paying at the front desk kiosk, my stylist went straight back to texting with the click clack of her fake nails on the phone screen. I stood at the desk for a good minute or so after payment was completed before she looked up, and quickly said "bye thank you". There were no other customers in the store except for the nail artist and her client in the shared salon space. My husband and I recently moved to the area and having to find another hair stylist is always the most difficult for us as we always seek for salons that specialize in cutting Asian hair. Although a little far from us, to us, it's worth the drive! The place is clean and the quality of the haircut is great. The price for the cut is also extremely reasonable as it did include washing your hair. If you have been looking for a hair salon that knows how to work with Asian hair and offers Asian style perms, your search is now over! I highly recommend you make an appointment and bring some photo examples of what you want for your hair though. My stylist was Sunny. She doesn't work there anymore, but she was a superstar! I really miss her and hope she's doing well. I was very impressed at how quickly and efficiently she handled everything. Normally my hair takes longer than normal to work on. Previously at other salons for a cut and perm, it would take 4-5 hours! She managed to finish and clean up everything in 2.5 hours. She was also the only one in the salon at the time as the other stylist on shift had to go out to buy more supplies. So not only did Sunny wash, cut, perm, sweep up hair, and clean up chemicals on her own, she also managed to answer the phone and arrange appointments with other customers AND finish my hair ahead of schedule. She estimated it would take 3 hours to finish my hair. We ended up finishing earlier. We've all been there. I was anxious about trying to find a salon to get my hair done here. Like many others, I moved to Arizona recently, but have been scared about finding a new salon. Last time I got my hair done, I actually did it in the northeast at my old salon when I went back to visit family. I decided to take the plunge after my friend highly recommended this salon. He's been going here since it was under a different name (Aura). I was nervous, but Sunny made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. It's generally recommended and good practice to bring at least one photo of what kind of style you're going for. I showed Sunny and she quickly assessed my face shape to offer suggestions on how to better make the style suit me. She was very kind and was mindful of letting me know what exactly she was doing and why at every step. Moreover, I was even offered a complimentary water while I was sitting underneath the heat lamp during my perm. It was very appreciated! The kind of perm I got was a digital one. Normally the curlers sit on your head and the wires get attached to them. It can get very heavy when you have a lot of hair to work on. Sunny told me she'll have me use the floating digital perm set up, so it'll be easier on me. I only felt a very slight tugging while the machine was operating. Sunny also checked in on me regularly to make sure I was comfortable and made sure that I knew it was okay to let her know at any point if something felt wrong. I'm happy with how everything turned out. By the way: to those who do not speak or understand Korean, I promise you that the stylists are not saying anything bad about you. They're just talking about the business related things like where to buy more supplies. Please don't worry! They are all very nice. They also told me that English isn't their first language, but they're trying their best to communicate with their customers in English too. Sunny also spoke mostly in English to me because even though I know Korean, she learned that I'm more comfortable with English. They're so considerate and mindful of their customers' needs. This guy, Victor, at Mekong Plaza used to cut my hair and since he left AZ I have not been able to find one that can cut a true Asian bob haircut. I came here hoping I'd get lucky again - Jacob cut my hair- and while it's not exactly like Victor's style of cutting, it's pretty good! I liked the end result. Great haircuts with Sunny! She pays great attention to detail and provides the curvy back of the head. Price is $30 for guy's haircut which is initially the highest I've paid for a guy's haircut but after going to a few places that are cheaper but are inconsistent, I think it's worth it to pay $10 more for a haircut that I can have confidence in every 4-6 weeks. They do have walk-ins but it's a popular place so I recommend calling for an appointment. Most hair dressers there are mostly Korean-speaking with basic/functional English-speaking skills so either communicate slowly or go when the main office guy is there who is able to translate. read more

I had been coming here since 2022 but won't be coming back anymore. It seems like everytime I go back the quality would get worse! I am Asian so I prefer to get cut at Asian owners salons. Last time I came was in spring . She rushed and did a bad job in the back and maybe thought I wouldn't notice (she didn't show me and felt rushed out of the chair). They are one of the few salons, in the area that are open on MONDAY I called at 10:30 in the morning and was told they could see me at 12:30... I call that service. When I walked in Soo, MJ & Ashley welcomed me with open arms. I was surprised to see all the machinery, technological advances in hair salons, they have some pretty cool perm machines. If you have naturally lighter hair... DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. The stylist left the highlighter on my head for over 4 hours. I've never had bleach on my hair for longer than 1 hour. I told him multiple times that I was concerned about my hair and that it would be damaged. He insisted I leave it on "just a little bit longer" and that no damage would be done and that he's done hair for over 25 years. My hair is brittle following treatment and literally breaks off with every wash and brushing. They don't have experience with lighter colored hairs. $350 later and I have damaged AF hair that needs to be chopped and not dyed forever (I've literally never had this problem and have been highlighting my hair for over 20 years). read more

I've been searching for a salon/stylist to beautifully and precisely cut my Asian hair ever since moving to Arizona 4 years ago. (If you have Asian hair, you know the struggle to get it cut well is hard. Not all stylists can do it or even want to for some reason.) I really needed a cut and found Leekaja Hairbis. I made an appointment and was paired with Sunny and I'm so glad! Sunny is WONDERFUL and gave me one of the best haircuts I've had in years. (Certainly the best cut since coming to AZ, hands down.) It was so nice to talk with her, she had the exact same struggle with finding someone to cut her own hair when she moved here too. Sunny took the time to listen to what I liked and the picture I showed her of the idea of my haircut. My mom, sister, and I have all gotten our hair done at this hair salon and always appreciated the work of the Director, Soo, as well as the other hairdresser that works here (I'm blanking on her name). My dad went to this hair salon earlier this summer and had a terrible experience with Soo. She was basically distracted the whole time - going over to another customer's baby in between cutting my dad's hair and constantly walking around and chatting with people instead of focusing on the haircut. A male haircut typically takes like 20-30 minutes - it took my dad over an hour for his hair to get cut and he had to ask Soo if she was too busy and if he should just come back later as he was losing patience. In the end, the service + mediocre haircut + price raises were just very frustrating overall. So, we do not come to LeeKaja anymore. The disrespect that we experienced was unacceptable. Hopefully, they fix their business practices and treat customers equally as that wasn't the case as the initial review states above. read more
