This business is not honest. They blame the "local designer" but they won't tell me who the local designer is. Told me she put me on hold to "call the local designer" or do a conference call. Refused. I asked for a supervisor and was finally transferred to a supervisor named Rick. Same song and dance. Offered me a 10% discount to deliver the flowers the day after my mom's 83rd birthday. They just verify your information over and over and gaslight you. Rick says he will be there until 9pm tonight and will take care of this. Flowers marked as delivered about an hour later but I checked with the receptionist at her Senior Living who everyone must pass and they were not actually delivered. I then call back and customer service closed at 6pm! Rick never called me back and I guess he isn't there until 9pm after all. They text you a number to call them but the number is actually "America's Finest Talk Network". Finally they delivered the flowers and they were nothing like the picture. read more

This has to be the most overpriced and disappointing flower service I have ever used. The bouquet arrived nearly half the size, and with only six of the 12+ flowers indicated in the photo. Yes, I was aware that substitutions may happen, but I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the flowers used for a substitution. Sadly, there was more filler used than flowers. It looked as though my bouquet had been stuffed with clippings from my gardening. Then let's talk about the customer service. Or lackthereof. The number listed on the site and on a Google search takes you to a number that is no longer in service. Through further research I was able to find a second number. Upon calling, I was hung up on. DO NOT USE this "florist" EVER!!! They misrepresented themselves as local to Burlington, VT, which is not true. They did call to tell me the floral arrangement I requested and paid for could not be fulfilled because the yellow roses were not available, but PROMISED to send an equally as nice arrangement, once I conveyed to them the hospital delivery could not contain edible items. Flowers did not show up on Friday 6/6/25 as promised, or Saturday or Sunday.... They arrived Monday 6/9/25 in a box, with NO WATER in them. I got 1 dozen long stem roses no other filler, greenery, or other flowers. that were varied in color and contained 4 Yellow roses, the same four yellow roses that were not available for the arrangement I ordered. The flowers were 1/2 dead with a simple vase that had to be unpacked and put water in and "arranged". Since a "zero" rating is not available on Yelp!, I have to give them a "1". This florist was advertised as a local florist on Google turns out they're not local at all. I ordered a bouquet of flowers and was very quickly told they didn't have that arrangement in stock. And offered to replace it with 10 long stem sunflowers. I was under time constraints as I wanted a delivery made as quickly as possible to a friend in need the flowers, they delivered were only two sunflower and Iris and a handful of greenery. It look like a $15 bouquet that was delivered by UPS hot and wilted I was upset, sad and discouraged. I reached out to the flower company and expressed my disappointment. They told me they would deliver a new bouquet which never happened then I wrote a bad review and they offered me 20% discount on my next order, they must be delusional. Everything about Ava's Flowers is a nightmare! I only used them because nobody else would deliver to the area. I ordered a large $200 basket of funeral flowers with three other friends. I received notice that they were delivered with a picture of them sitting out in the cold near closed double doors, the afternoon before the services. (Strike #1) I ended up having to call the recipient's family to pick them up so they didn't remain outdoors all night until staff came in. They were displayed in the church the next day. After the service, they were moved to the reception room and collapsed completely. (Strike #2) Upon further inspection, there was no stable base on the bottom, just several small chunks of green foam that obviously couldn't support the weight of the large bouquet. (see photos) The recipient took photos & went to the local Safeway (where the flowers had apparently been prepared) and all she got was a dismissal & a curt "I wasn't on duty that day". I needed to send flowers to the family who lost their adult son. I researched a few florists online and saw that Avas had a nice website and reasonable prices. I saw a few positive ratings on their website , but unfortunately I didn't look at the reviews on Yelp. First things first- don't use Avas! The first part of the experience started out very well. They answered right away, were sympathetic and listened well. I placed my order one week ahead of time and confirmed the order. Fast forward.... I was at the funeral and noticed that the flower order wasn't there. It was unique, a large beautiful cross made of red flowers, with a white banner. I had about 30 minutes before the funeral was to start, so I called them. Surprise! I could no longer speak to anyone, I had to wait until someone could call me back, or I had to use the chat robot or enter a help ticket on their website. I was fuming! I double checked everything - the address, the confirmation everything and didn't have answers. I then attended the funeral. The next day , I called while I was upset , and disappointed and they said they were trying to reach the florist to see what happened. At that point in time, I told them I needed my money back and that they couldn't do anything to "fix" it. No flowers were delivered from my family on the most precious day of events. I'll never use Avas again. Apparently they outsource all jobs and Avas is a call center and they aren't local. Don't do it. It was a horrible experience. read more

7/22/2025 called the toll free number for Ava's flowers to deliver a large wreath for a funeral on 7/24. Spent quite a bit of time on details of time, address, arrangement particulars and confirmed they could deliver to the Carmel Mission Basilica. I was very particular about this because the other florist clearly told me they could NOT deliver to this area as they didn't have a local vendor in that area. So I wanted to be sure that Avas had NO issues with delivery . They ASSURED me they could deliver to this location on time for my event. I recited as well as emailed my custom note to the family of deceased to accompany my wreath. Confirmation of my order sent to me. I noted that the date of delivery was not on the confirmation so I made sure to email this detail to them and reiterated again in writing that the wreath should be that 45 min to 1 hr prior to services at 10 am on 7/24 at the Mission. On day of Funeral services a family member texted me from services that my wreath had not arrived!!! WHAT!!!! I called and got a recording to leave a message. I did. I had not received a call! I did receive an email AFTER the start of the services saying they had a question regarding delivery!! I called again! Another recording saying calls will be answered in order calls are received! NO SENSE OF URGENCY AT ALL FOR EMERGENCIES!!!! Funeral over, opportunity missed!!! Horrible service, terrible customer service, Offered discount, redirect to home of family.... All too little too late. No sense of urgency at all and canned apologies will NOT do!!! Especially for a funeral. You do not miss the mark on events like this and you never promise things you know you cannot deliver. By the number of one star reviews? Seems this is a habit!!!! AVAS DO BETTER!!! They sent an arrangement that looked nothing like what I ordered, and the flowers were wilting and dying within 48 hours. The chat service on the website (bot) doesn't work seamlessly. Finally my sister inlaw spoke to someone and they told her we will deliver BUT it won't be what you ordered and paid $75 for. At this point it's been 5 days since my wife's birthday. Customer service is nonexistent and they don't care. We finally were able to cancel the order and she got her money back.
