Avecina Medical -- I am absolutely disgusted, and this is how I feel about the care my fiancé received for his repeating ear infections. The so-called "care" I've received at your clinic is nothing short of malpractice mixed with arrogance. The first time I came in, your doctors treated me like I was the problem instead of the patient. They literally contaminated my healthy ear by bouncing back and forth between it and the infected one, as if they had no clue what a healthy ear was supposed to look like. That isn't medical treatment that's incompetence so severe I honestly don't know how half of your staff even passed pre-K, let alone medical school. You prescribed drops that did nothing. The next medication delayed things for a moment, but the infection came right back. And every single time I've returned, I've been dismissed and told to "come back when it's worse." Newsflash: after three ear infections, I know my own body. I don't need your condescending attitude to tell me to wait until I'm in excruciating pain or permanently damaged before you actually do your job. Your doctors strut around with superiority complexes, invalidating patients, and bleeding us dry financially while offering no real care. I'm not some idiot begging for narcotics I've been begging for antibiotics, for help, for someone to take me seriously. Instead, you waste my time, drain my bank account, and put my health at serious risk. And the moment I dared to stand up for myself -- to demand basic respect and actual treatment -- your staff painted me as "aggressive" and kicked me out. That's laughable. I wasn't aggressive. I was firm. That's called advocacy. If your fragile staff can't handle a patient advocating for themselves without spiraling into victim mode, maybe they should find another career. I'm young. I'm in my 20s. I'm trying to keep my health intact while also working and paying bills like everyone else. I can't afford to waste my time at a clinic that behaves like a daycare for overgrown toddlers in lab coats. I can't afford to keep getting billed for nothing. I demand a refund for the last three visits. You didn't treat me. You didn't help me. You insulted me, invalidated me, wasted my time, and put my hearing at risk. Avecina Medical your clinic is a disgrace. Your doctors are a disgrace. And the fact that you are allowed to call yourselves "medical professionals" is revolting. I am waiting for your manager to call me back today but that doesn't change the fact this happened at all and everyone is going to know what you are. read more

Wow. Nothing that I expected. This may seem trivial and simple, however, service and compassion are what medical used to be about. Not here! I was seen the Saturday before Christmas for what turned out to be bronchitis. I had been dealing with it for a couple of weeks at that point and unfortunately due to travel, I was unable to get to see anybody before I came back home to Middleburg. As soon as I got here I looked for a quick urgent care to help get it diagnosed and on some treatment. Having never used Avencina, I thought I would give them a shot. I scheduled an appointment. (Took 25 - 30 minutes to fill out all of the online paperwork, sending copies of my ID, my Insurance card, etc) In the process of that, I missed the appointment window I was shooting for. Had to wait another 1.5 hours for the next available. So be it. I get in there, I wait a little more and am brought back to see a practitioner of some sort. The nurse took all of my information again of course and stated the provider would be in shortly. 5 minutes later a woman walks in and introduces herself. Puts a stethoscope fo my back, says "Yep it's rattly, you have bronchitis";"Where would you like the scripts" Told her CVS in Middleburg, and she walked out saying they should be there within the hour! -- Last I saw of her. I left and picked up my scripts a little over 2.5 hours later. (Not entirely Avecina's fault there) Fast forward. All of the medication is gone, I have taken it exactly as prescribed and I am probably 85% better. Still have a bit of a rattle and cough, but better. Since I have taken Z-Packs many times in my life (I travel nearly full-time) I am quite used to it. Many times I need to have a 2nd dose of them to clear an infection such as this. SOOO The Thursday AFTER Christmas I call back to Avecina to ask if they could please call in another Z-Pack just to kick whatever this infection is out. I leave for another trip starting Saturday AM. "Sir, the provider you saw is not on today, but I will pass the information on to the person working" Great.... Ummm... Not great... No callback, no nothing. Friday, I called again in the early afternoon (Figured I would let the morning rush diminish before I asked for anything) "Sir the provider you saw is not working today she will be here Tuesday... You will have to come in for a re-evaluation." I asked her if she would please just ask whoever is working if they could just call in a refill. It's an $85.00 co-pay for me to walk in the door every time. She offered to pass the information on to the provider on duty and I would get a call back. 3 hours later --- No call back. So I called again, now we are getting late in the afternoon and things start closing. I get the same front desk woman on the phone who states she will see if she can get the provider and see what is the decision. a few minutes later she returned to the phone telling me that I would have to come in and be seen to get a refill of Z-Pack since the person working is not the same one I saw on Saturday. I again explained that I not only did not have the time now to get in there (Should have called back yesterday when I called in) but the $85.00 co-pay is prohibitive. I asked if I could speak with the provider. Perhaps there is a miscommunication. A while later a woman gets on the phone. I explain to her the situation again. Only to be interrupted in the middle of a sentence for her to tell me that I had to come in and be evaluated. I again attempted to explain that I tried to call yesterday and the $85.00 co-pay.. Nope. didn't make it through that sentence either. Waited for her to finish. Attempted again to plead my case hoping for a little compassion and understanding. Wow.. Was I wrong! She interrupted me again. This time I called her out on it and asked that I be allowed to finish a sentence without being interrupted. (At this point I was not escalating, I was not yelling or being curt) Her retort: Interrupting me again "You're just being hateful and it's your opinion that I am interrupting you" Yes, now I because notably aggitated. Still not being mean or aggressive, but asking who runs the facility. Apparently, I need to have a conversation with them if this is how their employees are treating their customers. I asked for the main office numbers. Which I was told they do not have any. I would need to email them. Begrudgingly I accepted an email. To which she promptly hung up on me. Ummmm... I called back; Call went to VM. I called back again. After many rings a different young lady answered who obviously just started working there. It took her a fair amount of time to obtain the email address (avecina@avecina.com) To which I was told the management all get that email and someone would reach back to me. This place is great. We came in on a Saturday expecting a long wait, there was no wait took more time to fill a paper out. The nurse practitioner was fantastic, took the time was very personable. Explained everything very well and cared, listens to what you're saying and values the opinion. It was very clean, and great service. Just really blown away with the service and staff. read more

Today my friend came in for an infection. He could hear the staff outside the room talking and heard the NP say she didn't want to go into the room. Do better guys. This is not acceptable. read more

Took my Grandson to be treated for acute anxiety attack on Sunday. They gave him an EKG and told him he's young he'll get over it and did not prescribe anything. He is more miserable today. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

This place is exactly what you would want in an urgent care center. They got us in with a very reasonable wait time. All the staff is very friendly, helpful and professional, and the PAwas very thorough, answered all of our questions and made us feel like we were definitely being taken care of, We will go back whenever we need such a place. Poor customer service over the phone, scams you for more money instead of ordering needed refills

Avecina Medical in Middleburg was exactly the kind of health clinic I was searching for...the exam focused only on the health issue that I came in for and it was quick and to-the-point... just the kind of service that I was looking for. Online, I was able to look up available appointment times, schedule an appointment, and fill out paperwork. In the office, the wait time was less than five minutes. The staff were very friendly and professional. The nurse practitioner was very attentive, thorough, caring, and answered all my questions. I was very pleased with the service, and I will definitely go back as needed in the future. read more
