Well, the instructors failed me again. I came in and asked to get the darkest shade of black like I have gotten previous time. They gave me a lighter shade and didn't tell me until the end. It is very annoying when I come in and I make it clear what I want and they do whatever they want. I understand it's a school but I'm not paying for a service that I don't get. I complain to the front desk and they did nothing and I told them this is a second time the instructors are not listening and putting a permanent color on my head. I did not ask for. The students are always amazing but what is the point if I'm leaving unhappy every time

What a great school! Friendly, professional, and proficient students. I love how you can schedule with a master student who is ready to graduate. Most schools do not offer this scheduling facials were quite relaxing on a heated massage bed and includes the shoulder massage. I love how the haircuts are documented on the mirror as to the clients name, the service and the objective. Sufficient amount of product is used on here which most schools are we locked in to use much product I'm not sure if that is cost driven, but this place does it right!

Andrea ( Alkina) did a wonderful job, my hair looks amazing, the vibe in that place is great from teachers to students to the front of the store, every single person give you smile and compliments

Being a woman who went to the Aveda Institute in Tempe Arizona, and has moved to Florida, I couldn't be any happier. The staff here is really nice, the student did everything I asked, and the teachers are great! I will be back and invite others:)

Glowing skin..... extremely professional students and environment very clean with refreshing spa smells. Loved the experience 10 out of 10

It is a teaching institution so levels of experience can be found in students but a veteran teacher is close by.

I go in to each haircut knowing that it is a student and that sometimes things can happen, also, it's just hair so if something does happen I'm not upset. I have had many great experiences here with multiple different students. The one thing I will say is that the education is not what it used to be. And I've learned this through chatting with students and being a guest of PM for many years. I really wish they would take the time to go back to teaching how to massage and wash hair. That is really the best part of any service.

I heard about Paul Mitchell's services and found out Wednesdays is $5 for men's haircut so I took advantage. I knew it was a school and I knew it would be a student doing it. What's the worst that could happen? It's only $5 and my hair will grow back in a couple of weeks. Both student and instructor did great. It was the first time the student did a "skin fade," but the instructor was right there every step of the way making sure everything looked uniform. Was it the best haircut I've ever received? No, but everyone has to learn, plus it's only $5! Literally cheaper than a dozen eggs at the moment. If you're looking to cut your household budget, and you can show a bit of grace, then definitely check out The Paul Mitchell school

She was really personable and made it super comfortable, switching from having conversation and then having comfortable silence when I needed it! I'm so excited to be able to have her do my hair even after she graduates later this year! I got an all over color to my natural hair, and it looks so good! I think it's important to note that they are students, and if you want to pay the cheaper price you have to be understanding and showing grace at the fact they will confer with their teachers. But even so, I enjoyed my experience especially when they gave me tips about my hair, the bang length for my facial structure, etc!

10:30 a.m. Hailey was ready to cut my hair. I have a chair, approved by my doctor, Dr. James…read moreDeStephens, that I use while waiting for total hip replacement scheduled for August 14, 2024. The chair is low and allows my feet to be squarely on the ground. If my legs dangle, there is excruciating pain in my damaged hip. The special chair I use was first approved by Dr. DeStephens for my personal use during a state testing exam and I will include Dr. DeStephen's letter here. Hailey, the cosmetology student, was already brushing my hair, getting ready to cut it. She understood that I needed to remain in my own chair as an ADA accommodation. When suddenly, out of nowhere, an instructor with a Hispanic accent (I didn't catch her name, so that's how I am identifying her) came over and became very long- winded and immediately argumentative with me, insisting that I MUST climb into the tall beauty school chair. I explained that I cannot do that. She rebutted, asking how did I lift the chair out of my car and insisting that if I lifted the special chair out of my car then I must be able to sit in the beauty school chair for "safety". I explained to her that my chair is safe and I demonstrated its sturdiness. She then said she would not tolerate rudeness when SHE was the only one being rude. She huffed off to get another instructor/supervisor. I left. I asked Google when I returned home, "Is a beauty salon supposed to accommodate a handicapped person?" The answer: Yes, hair salons are considered places of public accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and must be ADA compliant. And here also: https://www.phorest.com/blog/salon-spa-services-clients-disabilities/#:~:text=Treat%20a%20person%20with%20a,as%20you%20address%20other%20adults. Her rudeness and control freak mode was extremely offensive. Several students looked on as she prattled on and on, obviously embarrassed by the instructor's heavy-handed treatment of me. They all remained silent, obviously intimidated by her presence. I will also file this complaint with the BBB for all to see. By the way, I used to work as a seminar leader teaching customer service skills for Dun and Bradstreet Business Educational Services. The instructor's behavior was appalling. She needs training in customer service skills. I also filed an official complaint with ADA for this beauty academy's non-compliance. Date of incident: June 3, 2024.

I have to agree with the previous review, and more…read more After waiting 30 minutes for "setup" which consisted of up to 10 individuals walking back and forth talking about personal life, we advised them that we needed to leave in an hour. We were then asked "well do you even want to do this?" We relied, yes we do, we just have a time limit so we will forego our manicure portion of the Groupon. During this time, another student came to the counter complaining about a ticket she was given, "I don't do kids." My friend's daughter, who we brought with us for her first pedicure, was the only child in the establishment. We were finally taken back to the chairs. A very poor pedicure with no foot massage, minimal debridement of of callus surfaces, no buffing, cleaning or shaping of the nails was performed and no cuticle care was performed until I asked specifically (this was meant with eye rolling and a search for the required equipment which was the excuse we were given for the 30 minute "setup"). After a nail painting job my 7 year old son could have done better, I was told, "all done". My sandals were on the floor and no effort was made to hand them to me, much less put them on. I was not offered a drying option despite the fact that my companions were both under the dryers. This is a very similar service to my companion. Interestingly, her daughter, for whom we paid for services, received excellent care and has a pedicure that I envy. Sheila was fantastic with her daughter. Nicole and the tech who did my companion's nails received no supervisor or feedback from any supervisor the entire time we were being serviced. I believe this is required for a teaching institution. Nicole specifically stated she had only been in that school for 5 weeks. This leaves much to be desired if you are planning to attend this institution. In addition, I have a call in to the State Licensing Board to question the supervision requirements for students. I believe you have to have at least a cursory review of the services provided, and I can guarantee that this was not done on anyone in our party. If it had, the childish and laughable pedicures would never have been allowed. I called and spoke the the direction who stated they cannot do refunds, and I would need to request a refund for both Groupons through Groupon. Not a very savvy customer service gesture at all Billie. My recommendation is don't, just don't.
