‼This was honestly the worst school I've ever attended.‼ I'm saying this to bring awareness because I've noticed a lot of reviews don't even talk about the actual massage program, and that's what matters. We were being tested on things we were never properly taught, with no clear rubric or guidance. In clinic, students were expected to perform services like sports massage and prenatal massage without being trained for it, which is a serious safety issue. The environment was unprofessional. I saw teachers disrespect students, have emotional breakdowns, and the program went through multiple instructors. At one point, a student was basically put in a teaching position on Saturdays. That alone shows how unorganized things were. For months, I wasn't properly taught. Most of what I learned came toward the very end, and even then there were still issues with boundaries and professionalism from staff. Paperwork would go missing, students were left confused and stressed, and there was no accountability. On top of that, I personally experienced sexual harassment, which made the environment feel unsafe. I reported this school to the state massage board because of everything that went on. If you're serious about becoming a massage therapist, I strongly suggest looking into other programs. read more

The massage therapist repeatedly interrupted the session to cough heavily and productively, turning away each time (thankfully) but continuing throughout the session. The frequency and intensity of the phlegmy coughing significantly disrupted the time and made it difficult to relax. From a client perspective, persistent coughing during close contact body work raises concerns about hygiene, professionalism, and basic client comfort. Rather than a therapeutic experience, the session felt tense and disturbing, with attention focused on the interruptions rather than the massage itself. I really enjoyed my experience at Parisian Spa Institute. I purchased two Groupons for a deep cleansing facial and a back facial. Immediately after purchasing my Groupons, I called the school to schedule an appointment. It was quick and easy. I scheduled an appointment on a Saturday. Be mindful this school is in Riverside and close to the Art Market, so you may be diverted a few times. It still wasn't bad to get there though. The school is located on the second floor of a shared buildings with other offices such as physical therapy. When I made it upstairs, I have to admit it felt kind of chaotic with students and clients. Even so, it was very easy to get checked in and redeem my Groupons. I had a short wait before going back with my esthetician in training, Tannika. She did an absolute fabulous job on my back facial and deep cleanse facial. I glowed after. Additional bonus is that they were using Dermalogica products which is really a great brand. The only con about this experience was the lack of privacy during my back facial. I would say that they should consider putting sheets to divide clients. Still regardless I enjoyed the time. I went to Parisian Spa Institute last week and got my hair colored. Naiya was able to match my color perfectly. I went today and got a hot stone massage, gel manicure, gel pedicure, facial, and massage. I spent $150 total and I was able to have a full spa day - amazing! They did a great job. Matching hair color is challenging. The teacher came over and reviewed her students color before she did anything. The facial was honestly the best one I've ever had. I'm going back Friday for a back facial. They may be students but they put their all into it and they're all excited to be there. I spent $180 two months ago to get my hair done. Recently my wife called to schedule a massage/pedi for me as a gift. Initially the person who answered told my wife that it was a "long day and everyone was tired" and they were not scheduling any more appointments. Later the owner called and scheduled the appointment. We let it go, caulking it up to maybe the original call screener was having a bad day. I went to my scheduled appointment and had an very good massage and decent pedi. I cash tipped both students who were very professional and I wish them the best. I checked out at the front desk and they told me it was $41.00. I did not leave a tip since I had given both students a cash tip. This week, we started getting phone calls saying their modem "crashed" or "got unplugged" and they needed my card number again. I checked my transaction and told them it was processed and said pending and should be clearing the next day. I checked today and it was cleared for $41.00. The front desk called me several times today (business hours) but I being at work could not answer. I then got a text at 7 pm from the owner said it was for $47.15 and my card was declined and threatened to take us to small claims court. I tried explaining that I was not happy with how I was being treated and that they were trying to charge me more than what their front desk had rang me up for, but the owner just kept interrupting me and gaslighting me. Very sad to say, but we will NOT be back after being treated so unprofessionally by the management. THIS is YOUR fault, not the customer. Students would get 5 stars, Management I wish I could give you less than one star. For the record, I have probably given two or three negative reviews in my entire life. I live over an hour away from this location, and will certainly not be making a 2 hour round trip to support this unprofessional gaslighting management team. I didn't realize they do nails, massages, hair Etc. It was very busy when I went in which again was very surprising. From what I can see it's a very professional setting, I absolutely loved my facial and will definitely go back to get some other things. I don't like that I can't tip the students individually the tip goes to the school itself but I understand why. I also didn't like how small it was in the room that I got my facial done. There was a man sitting next to me & I had to take my top off with no privacy other than someone holding a towel up. However, they are a school and for that I can't complain. Alright, I've been here twice. Depends on the services you get, but I've only Had nail service. I went Once with a Groupon for mani pedi which was about a 4 star experience. It took forever and was really really archaic. But I think I paid like $15? So I expected that. It was decent enough for me To go back. I just went back for an acrylic fill. I had a full set put on around Christmas from a shop back home in Alabama. I desperately needed a fill and PSI charges $10 so why not. I made an apt at 6, and walked out at 815. So it Def took a long Time. We had to file off my old gel, fill the acrylic, re shape my coffins, then do new gel with some glitter at the recommendation of Bri. I paid $15 and I'm highly satisfied with the work. Bri was very meticulous and made sure my nails were done right. I did have a little polish around my nail beds, but I didn't expect a $60 job! My first time here and I got a deep cleansing facial w diamond microdermabrasion and was happy with the services I received. The two estheticians that helped me are gonna go places!! Bianca did my facial and she was in tune with what I needed and really took into consideration that I have sensitive skin. Kendall did my microdermabrasion and she also made sure to check in with me about suction pressure--which I've never been asked before at other places. There is definitely a school atmosphere here and the staff and students are often visibly busy and overwhelmed, but it is easy to overlook once you are in the care of the students. Every student I have had work on me has been professional, courteous, and communicative. Their training reflects positively in their treatment of me. Learned about this school from a friend who was going there. I got my hair done by her. I wanted it to be orange for Halloween in an almost Ballage style is what they called it. It came out in a wine style color, but I still liked it. It took about three hours or so to do. I got there at 9:30 and left right after 12. They just applied the dye directly without bleach added. The color is definitely lasting and not washing out. She graduates Wednesday 11/3 from there. I'm excited for her. I then went back a few days later to have my nails done. I did red and black coffins on my middle fingers and thumbs. My pointer finger on my right hand was Michael Myers and my pointer finger on my left was Jason. My pinkies were butcher knives. My ring finger on my right hand was red and a soft pink. The ring finger on my left was black with soft pink. The teacher applied the nail art to my nails and the student did the acrylics and paint on the rest. I came back a few days later and also had my toes done and my brows. My partner had his head shaved and beard cleaned up. My daughter had her nails and toes painted too just for fun. The only reason I gave four stars is because the pinky art came off on my left hand a day later. And then my left middle finger nail fell off at random while I was brushing my teeth. The students were nice, I personally had a good experience with ***** when I came in for my hair. But administration was rude and not very professional either. Not to mention how the owner responds to feedback. Like a hurt child. Its no wonder why they can't keep teachers to save their lives. Then the programs are unorganized asf and the students dont even get the tips that people put when they pay with card so you have to tip cash if you actually want it to go to whoever serviced you instead of the school (which i had to find out from the students instead of being told that up front). Then they clearly don't care too much about their students because people aren't even being fully credited for the hours they were there for, which is the least you'd expect when you're trying to complete courses and that isn't right at all. Got people wasting their good time and money on this absolute joke of an institute. I have dealt in business for a very long time and never have I ever encountered the level of unprofessionalism, lack of accountability, disrespect, and poor leadership than at Parisian Spa Institute‼ Long post ALERT which I don't normally do, but this was so necessary. My instructor quit the day before yesterday b/c of her treatment by the staff. Not to mention, the instructor prior to her stepping in just walked off the floor and quit. As of recent the financial aid officer and massage instructor also quit I received one pedicure demo and one manicure demo after almost 4 weeks but I didn't stress it too much since I've been self taught up to this point but I'm obviously paying to learn! Again at almost a month, I finally received SOME of the supplies stated in the contract and was told I should be appreciative of receiving the supplies and kit. Weird cause in the contract I pay for the kit and 80% of the supplies were Dollar Tree quality . Then there was a box that was originally a 6 pack of polishes but each of our boxes were missing 2 and the package had been resealed Thank God I already have my own supplies. The Caucasian woman now known as Carla who provided the kits never introduced herself to the group of minority (black, Mexican and foreign) women. What she did introduce was attitude and disrespect to the group. For example, someone asked, can we take the kits home? She responded, no because of your financial aid so you guys can't take them home. Although, I was aware that the contract states that NO ONE (financial aid or not) can take them before 31 days, I responded quickly by mentioning that I was not on financial aid and was paying cash for school (along with others in the room). Because WHY TF would you assume that everyone in the room was on financial aid? Another student caught eyes with Carla and asked her something about the kits (I checked out for a bit on the details of the question b/c I already felt disrespected and was pacing as I gathered my thoughts). The woman walked off and didn't answer. She did this a second time as well between going back and forth to attempt to fulfill the kit requirements. She explained that our kits weren't completed today because she had to "handle others things that were more important" as if WE the customers of this institute were unimportant... although we had been in the class for almost a month! Clearly irritated thru her tone and body language, she mentioned they still didn't have everything we were suppose to receive and asked us if we wanted her to bring what she had and we could decide who should have it. I responded frankly by saying, "whatever the protocol is." As she leaves momentarily, the back-up instructor Gladys came in and we all began explaining what happened and asking her to intervene at this point. She also disappeared for a couple minutes and then Carla came back asking what the problem was Why did Gladys send this woman back in here because immediately my response was " YOU, you are the problem. You've been disrespectful and out of line. We are not children. When you speak to us you need to have some respect." Her: "I was just trying to help you." Me: "Thank you for the kits but leave the attitude." I decided to leave for the day but I wanted to discuss the matter along with my concerns about her establishment with the owner Linda. I was told I couldn't because the protocol is to talk to receptionist I explained if the rude woman doesn't report to him then I don't want to speak to him. He said she did report to him. Once we're in the closet (YES a closet !) cause the receptionist desk is his office and he doesn't want everyone to hear I assume. I again asked to speak to Linda and this BLACK man stopped me as I was speaking to say "you need to call her Ms. Linda when you address her" I immediately flashed back to orientation when he said his name was Mr. Jason which I remember very vividly because I thought it was odd to address himself as such b/c everyone in the room was an adult and he wasn't an old man. At the time I just mentally filed that interaction in the weird af section of my mind and didn't question it cause imma call him Jason, duh! Anyways, this man went on to say I need to look at this lady like ELON MUSK... I obviously laughed and said "she is not on the same pedestal as Elon and you're delusional." He continues to attempt to debate me that in a corporate setting you address the owner and/or those in leadership as Mr or Ms, Mrs, which was clearly my sign that he couldn't have worked in corporate in the past but was using it as a reference ‍ I personally only address those who have earned my respect in a leadership capacity... I went there multiple times to talk to the owner about signing up for classes. Extremely unprofessional! First she told me to wait to sign up for classes since my classes were two months away which I did but when I tried to sign up for them she told me they were completely full. She put me on a waiting list and when classes were made available she called me to let me know. I asked a lot of questions because her answered seemed to always change and I wanted to be sure I knew what was going on. When we said goodbye she thought she had hung up the phone but she didn't and I could still hear here talking to other staff. She started bad mounting me to other staff which I could fully hear.
