I was there today with my service dog and the owner told me I wasn't allowed to have him in there and i need to leave. I advised him that that was against the law that service dogs are allowed into any establishment. He told me he didn't care what the law was and was very rude and indignant. He told me that people that come there could be allergic to dogs. I said it doesn't really make a difference. He told me " get out now". I told him I had things in the washing machine and that they needed to finish in the cycle. He once again demanded I leave. I put my dog in the car for the last couple minutes of the washing cycle. Not only do I have a complaint with the ADA on him I can also sue him for discrimination as well as the "disability act". read more

All the reviews of the owner being a rude BULLY were true. I came for the 1st time today and he rushed at me and started ranting about rules and his authority when I hadn't said a word was just standing there. I would have left but my clothes were in the washer w detergent on them. Very aggressive & creepy. To the point I had my phone on recording in case he started screaming again / kept ranting to himself. These ppl don't care about posted hours. Always in a hurry to close at Sun down. Arrived at 6:44pm and the open sign & lights are already turned off. We have been traveling for 10 days and staying at a local hotel who's laundry was broken ...so we bop down to this nice little laundromat or so we thought... we were accosted by a man about 50 who was big and burly who told me I could not have my service dog inside his accommodations. I told him she is a service dog and you have to allow us. I proceeded to put my clothes in the machine and put the money in the machine he came and stopped the machine screamed at me to get out and threw all my clothes all over the floor threatening to call the police. I said please call the police you cannot deny us accommodations she is a service dog meanwhile there's no one in there but one guy dropping off his laundry. That guys sees the whole thing and says nice dog. Then the younger guy in the picture on their account t comes back pushes me and throws my clothes on the floor AGAIN. finally the police arrived and took the report and said I should report him as I will for violating ADA compliance but if he's willing to push a girl thats pretty big what will he do to tiny woman or a small man???? he certainly feels emboldened to use his hands on customers why would you give your money to Guy who might assault you while you're dropping off laundr. He insisted that the reason that my service dog could not stand within 5 feet of the door while I put my laundry is because people have allergies .....well is he also policing what people are bringing into wash to see if there is pet hair on their laundry???? Nope he's discriminating and violent. by the way my service dog is a short hair dog so do yourself a favor you don't need to meet the police in Libertyville but this guy most likely will definitely be meeting them again with his violent and abusive behavior towards customers ...do not go here. Came back to Avenue coin laundry to wash some blankets, again as before, this laundry is always clean, machines are working, no nonsense. Get in and get your laundry done. I like that some of the machines are larger size so you can do bulk washing, and the machines take dollar coins so you don't have to walk around with $20 in quarters in your pocket. It's also next-door to Domino's and Dos amigos Mexican restaurant which is convenient if you want to have lunch and do the wash. read more

Arrived at this laundry at 7:10 PM and was greeted by a sign on the door stating Last Load 6:45 .....CLOSED. That's every day/night. Please Advertise appropriately!! Turned his back and walked away on me twice without answering questions or acknowledging me. Washed a mattress cover and it came out dripping water. The final spin did not complete. He was Condescending "been in business 40 years". Then tried to make me wrong to another customer when I went to my car and came back on. Terrible owners, they (father and son) are almost always unpleasant to talk to. It is also an expensive place. The owner plays Fox News all the time. Once I heard screaming from the office in the back and when the younger owner opened the door there was something on the screen that looked like weird porn. We stopped going there. Not super large but decent. 8 40lb washers ($4.25), 8 20lb washers ($2.00), 5 60lb washers ($6.00) and 1 80lb washer ($8.00) 22 medium dryers (3x wash size) and 2 large dryers. Change machine gives quarters or dollar coins (2 different coin slots). Laundry detergent machine. Talked to the owner - nice guy. If you are hungry there is a Domino's right next door. Want a soda - go there because there's no soda machines in the laundromat. NOTE: Google maps will say that the laundromat is on the north side of the street. It's on the south in the strip mall. Jiffy Lube is across the street. Driers are $0.25 for 10 minutes - which surprised me because I've seen 8 minutes elsewhere. read more

Arrived at 2:10 on News Year Eve, they were closing at 4. He wouldn't let me in. Just said he's been in the business 20 years and so he knows I can't be done by 4. I was kind of stunned how he talked to me and he didn't have any idea what I needed to wash. I left, drove 15 minutes to Mundelein to the 24 hour place at Lake Diamond Plaza (great place by the way) - did my 2 loads of rugs at the same time and drove back past Avenue Coin Laundry at 3:55... 20 years in the business didn't teach you anything about customer service. Super clean with exceptional washers and driers. The area is very nice with plenty to do while waiting on your laundry. Pizza next door, Chipotle down the street, and The Craft Beer Store near by (has taps for samples as well, check them out!). A note about the clientele, way friendly! I'm an active duty navy guy who just wants to get his gear clean, on two occasions a motherly individual has offered advice and help with doing my laundry. Just today a kind woman stopped me from buying detergent out of the vending machine and told me to use the detergent she brought from home. DAAAAWW! Washing machines take $1 coins and driers take quaters. About $4 for two loads in the washers and a $1.50 to dry it all. I will always come here while I'm in the area. read more

Very clean, washers and dryers work fairly quickly, staff is helpful. Not a particularly big place with many places to sit, so I can see it being crowded at certain times, but definitely good. Went there because our washing machine needs repair and will not hesitate to go back if needed. Machines take dollar coins and quarters. It's a clean place. They have a TV on which in most cases is entertainment while customers are doing their laundry. The unfortunate thing is the volume is very high and the owners have the FOX News channel on. The customer base at the laundromat is far those who subscribe to the extreme right point of view. It's obnoxious! The ownership has no clue the customers are offended. I come here once a month to wash bigger loads that I don't want to wash in my washer at home. I have been to 2-3 other coin laundry businesses in the area and all of them pale in comparison to Avenue Coin Laundry. This place is bright and CLEAN and the equipment is very well kept. There's free wifi and a flat screen TV. If you have to visit a coin laundry, I suggest coming to this place as it's easily head and shoulders above the rest. read more

I've rarely needed a coin laundry but we were on vacation in Illinois and I was in a desperate need of some clean clothes. I didn't want to spend all day doing laundry so I came to Avenue Coin Laundry. I'll tell you I was a little hesitant after reading all the reviews on Yelp but I still decided to give it a chance. I'm so happy I did. From the washers and dryers to even the floor, the place was immaculate. It's the cleanest coin laundry I've been to and the owner was so sweet and welcoming. Yes they had on Fox Business but who cares? That shouldn't be a reason to degrade a business. I personally don't care for Fox News but my phone worked just fine. The only issue I came across was the hours listed online were different. They open at 8am and not 7am as listed online but the owner did arrive early and opened around 7:30 so I didn't wait long. I went to wash comforters, as they won't fit (well) in my washer at home. The establishment and washers were very clean, and the staff was nice and helpful. I washed 2 sets of sheets and comforters in the $5 machine, which was a good price to me. I brought them home to dry (separately), though instead of using the dryers there for 25 cents for every 10 min. I WILL come back when it's time to wash my comforters again. It's clean with nice equipment however don't EVER drop off your items. I dropped mine off and was told there were only 2 ahead of me at 11am. When I returned (as instructed) at 8 pm I was told it was not due to be done until the next day and that there were 4 orders ahead of mine.
