Searched on Yelp for a reputable and clean laundromat in the area and Lindenhurst Laundromat came up as the top option in terms of reviews and rank. To be honest, this is my first time in a laundromat on my own as I've been spoiled with having a washer/dyer in my home. I remember going when I was younger when my mom would bring her comforters in to wash. I came in right before lunch on a Thursday and there were maybe five patrons using the facilities. The sweet associate, Julie, who greeted me was very friendly. She could probably tell I was nervous and overwhelmed. She gave me a tour of the laundromat as well as explained the various versions of the washers that they had. She explained the loads and how each machine worked. She suggested which washer I should use based on looking at the load of laundry I had. She checked up on me throughout my time there. She was very down to earth. There were a few locals or regulars in the laundromat that she had conversations with. The washing machine pricing ranges from $3 to $6.75 (which I assume are for the comforters). The dryer machine pricing was $0.25 for 7 minutes so add more quarters for more time/drying. The amount I brought in filled an extended carry on roller board and a small duffel bag which all fit in the washer for $4.75 for 23 minutes. For the dryer, I put in $1.50 for 42 minutes on medium heat. There were probably about 20 washers and 20 dryers. They have vending machines for snacks, change for quarters (for bills of $1 to $20), and for detergent/softener/bleach/dryer sheets. There's also a TV. No WiFi but that's okay. I came prepared with things to entertain me while I wait. There were also magazines to read. There's tables and chairs for you to fold your clothes or to do homework while you wait for your clothes to be cleaned. There are carts and laundry bags that you can use. They have drop off cleaning service when you're too busy to wash your own clothing. Overall, I will continue being a patron as what most reviews stated, it is very family like in the laundromat. read more

First time visit, great experience at this laundromat! Will be back! There were plenty of machines, it's clean, well lit, and there are friendly people. They even have a nice flat screened tv. I tried to go to Susie's laundry in Grayslake, but it's closed until after the new year. I saw this laundromat had good reviews, so decided to check it out. When we arrived, one of the regulars held the door open for me and my my mom. The attendant, Cindy, had on a polo, so it was easy for me to identify her for questions. They have bowls to carry coins, while doing laundry. Half way through doing our blankets, Andy (See photo), Julie's husband (the owner), came by and talked with everyone in the place, and held the door for people coming in. Then he offered water to us, as well as a couple bags to keep for our laundry. (See photo) He even showed me how the coin changer works (I love details). As he refilled the snacks, he offered a snacks to the people sitting there. He also mentioned they like to stay open when people need to do their laundry, weekends, Christmas and New Years, while there may not be an attendant, but it's available for people use and people are good about keeping it tidy. I mentioned one of the washers didn't spin well for me, he refunded the wash, explained that that model doesn't spin well when not completely full, then showed me the newer machines which doesn't operate that way and mentioned they are planning on replacing others, all for a better wash! I never use laundromats, my dryer had just gone out at noon and I called Lindenhurst Laundromat to see if it was even possible to have a same day turn around. The owner, and believe her name was Julie, was so nice and explained her usual drop off time was 9am for same day pickup but would see if it be possible to accommodate me. She called me back within 10 mins and said she could help me out. The staff was just as friendly and I'm so glad I won't have to worry about not having clean clothes for work tomorrow. Super friendly and accommodating place. Will come back until my dryer is fixed or replaced. read more

So, I'm fortunate that laundromats aren't my normal hang out spot, however, they do come in handy on occasion. While traveling between Ohio and Wisconsin I needed to do two loads before arriving at my destination. Randomly picked this spot through Yelp. This is the cleanest, nicest, friendliest laundromat (of the probably 20 visits in my 57 years) that I have ever been to. Polite, friendly, incredible staff, working equipment, and even the floors were spotless. Where's the lint bunnies? None to be found! Needed to get my comforter washed, didn't want to wait a few hours washing it myself with a baby at home, and didn't want to pay astronomical dry cleaning prices. Brought it to Lindenhurst Laundromat and within a few hours for only $15 it was good as new! They were very nice and helpful, had a variety of soaps and fabric softeners to choose from. Though the clean, friendly, and functional atmosphere would be enough to earn good ratings, what impressed me so much with this place was the extraordinary customer service. Not only was I offered a complimentary water, but due to my lacking change (this being my first time at a laundromat, I thought there was a chance I could use a credit card) the owner chased me down in the parking lot and lent me money, allowing me to start my loads right away. Exceptional service. My girlfriend and I dropped clothes off here and all the staff and ownership are so friendly and helpful. They did the clothes in a timely manner and for a fair price. They missed my call and called me back promptly without me even leaving a message. We didn't know they only accepted cash or check, so they said we could just come back and pay when we were in the area. I have four kids under the age of five, and laundry is an everyday necessity for us. My washer and dryer were rendered unusable during some construction on my house. In a scramble to find somewhere to do laundry, I came across this place. I called first to get the scoop on how the drop off service worked. Julie, the owner, listened to my sob story about how my kids were wearing bathing suits because they had no clean clothes and from then on I was met with exceptional customer service. She told me to bring my stuff in and they would have it ready same day due to the urgency of my first trip there. Subsequent drop offs were usually done same or next day depending on what time I dropped them off. One time Julie offered to drop my clean clothes off at my house. I was so appreciative of her offer but declined because it would've been way out of her way. When I came to pick up my laundry, she helped me carry it to my car. The facility itself is nice and clean. The attendants are super nice and they must be magical or something because I've never seen clothes folded so neatly in my life. We had an old down comforter that we had bought in Europe 25 years ago. I was ready to trash it because it was stained and smelled. We have had it dry cleaned in the past with less than satisfactory results. I read online that you can launder them if you are careful. This thing is too big for our washer, so I thought I would bring it here to wash it. I found out about their drop off service and thought that was an even better options (as these things take 3-4 hours to dry). I got a coupon from their website and off I went. There is a dry-cleaner (unaffiliated) right next door, so be careful not to wander in there by accident. I could not be more pleased with the results of having them launder this thing. The stains are gone. It smells great (no-odor), and it is fluffy and comfortable as the day we bought it. Lindenhurst Laundromat saved me the $150 cost of buying a new comforter. Additionally, the lady that assisted me was very friendly and helpful.
