Waitress was rude and even rolled her eyes at us when my friend added to our order after she put it in. Took a bit of time. Over 15 min to get our food even though there was only 4 tables of people with a total of 12. Not to mention the food we ordered, we were cooking at the table. When she came she dropped our food and headed back to her friends in the bar area. We ran out of drinks and could not get her attention for 10 minutes. She was upset we were keeping her from the friends in the bar area. I was watching her thru the reflection in the window. She got snotty with me about wanting another cup of coffee. I was there as company and conversation so I only order pie and coffee. My friend a plank steak you cook yourself. She was happy with her food and the pie was way over priced but good. Landed for a "gas and go," but after waiting 15 minutes for service (only the bartender on staff) with 20% or less capacity I decided it was time to rely on my reserve food and drink in the room and get out of here. Not necessarily a bad thing with about five profanity laden drunks at the bar and children present in the dining room. I went here to eat wings for my BIRTHDAY drinks were good, but my wings were cold and I asked to get them warmed up and they microwaved them for at least 4 minutes they came out hot but with that nasty microwave taste and were just nasty would've liked them to be a good temp from the start and FRESH. Always used to come here for wings and it had been like 2 years since I've had them and I gotta say... not the best experience. The wings weren't even hot they were luke warm. We sent them back and the cook definitely warmed them up in the microwave way too long because they were RUBBER after that and tasted disgusting. Very sad I used to love this place. One of the nicer Bar & Grills in town. You can get decent food almost anywhere, but this place is very clean, brightly lit, well stocked, and not too rowdy. Service is very good and they have a big selection of beers. The lunch and skillet specials can't be beat, as well as the Friday fish fry. Inexpensive for a good amount of food. Stopped by The Ave while visiting my mom for Mother's Day. We sat in the bar, which has tables and booths in addition to the seats at the bar. We ordered from Darrin, the bartender. He was very personable and kind making sure we liked our drinks (Moscow mule and margarita). Both were delicious, so I had another mule. We ordered onion rings, which were yummy. Again, Darrin helped us. He was easy to talk to and joke with. We never felt rushed. I would definitely go back for drinks and maybe next time order food; we just weren't hungry. So I really can't believe I'm first to review this place. First off it is attached to the best western riverside hotel awesome location on the river. Second off this is like the place to be for local people most nights. On top of that if your not local and sitting at the bar you may have to wait a little bit to get a drink cause they take care of there own first. Thursday is wing nite get there early cause it seems to be the local hangout. I staff is nice as with most people in the area. The food is average nothing to crazy. They are open all day long. I stay at the hotel a lot as work brings me here a lot. read more

Nice! I was surprised that this hotel restaurant was empty aside from myself and my dining partner when I visited on a Monday afternoon. The inside is really nice! It's large and comfortable. There are tables with chairs with padded seats, high tables with padded bar stools, and booths. We sat by the window at a small table and watched out the window to see the Wisconsin/Michigan bridge and all the cars going by. It was very pleasant. This place is also easily accessible. The food... I ordered a burger basket. That came with fries. The burger was nice and large and topped with lettuce, tomato and onion. I declined the cheese, but that DOES come standard. I just am not a fan of cheese on my burger. So this was served with an awesome amount of crinkle cut fries done just right, and pickle slices on the side. Was also given a clean and perfect bottle of ketchup and mustard to put on myself - I like that a lot! The French Dip that was served to my boyfriend was large and had a good portion of au jus sauce. This was served with ruffled potato chips, however, the sandwich and au jus were not as hot as they should have been. I also had a hot cup of green tea and they brought a little tiny teapot of extra water so I could make myself a little more. So the food was really good, and the prices were very reasonable. For everything including tip, it was under $20. A very good lunch, and I was so full I could not even finish my mountain of fries - a first for me! lol! The only complaint I have was that the service was lacking. This was probably just the particular waitress who was serving that day. She didn't have much to do and I think she didn't want much to do. So service was slower than it should have been. I don't mean the amount of time to get the food. I mean stuff like bringing the check and after the check had been brought, to actually come around for payment, etc. But I survived it. Overall was not really bad, just not stellar.
