    Chicken Wings

I had been years ago and had good memories about the place, especially the pizza. Was disappointed on my return. Start with the service: the very young bartender was sweet but untrained and overwhelmed. Couldn't find the wine, messed up our order and then screwed up our bill. She wasn't ditzy- management never bothered to train her properly. Not too terrible on a slow Tuesday, but could be a disaster on a busy Friday. Then the food. The wings were a whopping $9 for 1/2 pound. That's 4 wings. Over $2 each, or over 3x what they cost elsewhere in town. They were not crispy fried or even baked, instead were slimy and boiled maybe? For $9 for 4 wings they better be awesome, and these were barely edible. The basic burger was very good, but it was $13! About double what a burger costs down the street at Dexters. And it only comes with chips - fries $3 extra. You can get an epic burger with fries for less at The Landing. The deluxe 5-topping pizza was $29- about $10 more than Pirates Cove. The pizza was good, but 8 wings, a burger (no fries) and a pizza with a few beers should NOT be over $100 with tax & tip. Then I see the 4% surcharge for credit cards. Umm...no. That surcharge is a price of doing business. You eat it. Welcome to owning a business. Raise your massive prices across the board to cover it. And 4%? Liquor stores and check cashing places only charge 3%. 4% means there's trouble with your finances or a history of fraud. Or maybe they are only paying 1.5% and tacking on the rest for a few extra bucks. So, bottom line - way overpriced, poor service and food hit or miss. Not recommended.

This cream of chicken soup is so amazingly delicious!!!

Amazing food and friendly staff. Their wings are the best in town and the beer selection always on point

It looks like a dive bar, maybe it is, but Tiffany the bartender was so friendly & greeted us right when we walked through the door. I love how she sat with us and helped us decide what to order! (Give that gal a raise!) You can see them make your food right there. We chatted with the Navy veteran cook, Matt. Learned some really interesting facts about Wisconsin! (Like did you know there used to be a law that a slice of American cheese had to be sold with a slice of pie?) What did we order? First, the white cheese curds! Better than Culver's with no seasoning so it's safe if you have allergies! So yummy!! I had the loaded nachos and hubby had the burger. It was affordable and one of the best meals we had on our visit to the area. Matt suggested we visit their sister restaurant for the next night. The experience we had there was not the same and would not recommend the Ogden club at all! But the Alibi... 100%! Great for if you are traveling or if you're a local!

As a man who will travel unlimited miles for food, you should be surprised that I have never had a…read morepasty before. Especially since I live in Michigan and travel north frequently. For the longest time, I thought they were only things of fairytales, like unicorns or pockets. But you can't travel 8 feet in the UP without being beckoned by a pasty shop. And because I'm me, I completely missed my opportunity until I was at the Michigan/Wisconsin border. But fear not! I wouldn't be writing this review if I HADN'T had one! So this pasty establishment was quaint. It had a drive through, a table in the inside and a table on the outside. I mess with that. Sometimes you don't need the extras. Now, as I learned about the pasty, it seemed like the most basic one was beef and rutabaga. Now, everybody knows that nobody knows what a rutabaga is. It's just one of those things that show up in recipes. And because I'm trying this for the first time, I want the full effect. So bring on the baga! Ok, so, since it was nice outside, I decided to sit on the picnic table. They gave me my pasty on a plate with utensils and I ordered 4oz of brown gravy to go with it. I split that bad boy down the middle like the Red Sea and waterboarded it with my gravy. Took a deep breath and dove right in. Listen. I still might not know what a rutabaga is, but I didn't let a single little square of them escape. Everything was hot, the crust was flaky, the gravy thiccc. Why did I never know these things were basically pot pies? I LOVE pot pies. It was gone in minutes. Just wiped out. Like Thanos snapping his fingers. There was nothing I didn't like about it. It was everything a first timer should have experienced. Pot Pie's Cute Older Sister, Pasty 10/10. A couple side notes: If you see my photos, you see I chose milk as my drink of choice. That's because I haven't had milk in three days and I was getting cranky. The only ONLY thing I would suggest, is they invest in either heavier duty plastic utensils or metal ones. Made it a little hard to cut into the bottom where the crust is rolled together. Certainly not something important enough to lose a star over, because honestly, you could punt this thing into a brick wall and I would happily eat it off there.

The Empanada is exceptionally delicious, the Beef + Rutabaga is 5 out of 5, wouldn't change a thing -- crusts are thin, delectable on their own, well-filled, cooked to perfection!
