The path even leads you to Laughlin Riverwalk. For meditation, contemplation, or just plain leisurely walking, it is really nice. It was terrific after a heavy lunch! There is access to restrooms, shade shelters, incredible natural wildlife and fauna are an incredible template for relaxing as well as getting your cardio moving. Right on the Colorado river gives you an incredible view of not only the glistening ripples of flow, but an incredible experience of changing colors of water and the nearby dam. Contemporary meets ancient. A truly soothing environment.

The marker is right in the side of the road so it's easy to spot. Super peaceful and kind of amazing that someone had the patience and artistry to create something like this. I enjoyed walking through the big spiral, there are a couple of them. I think others have made their own little ones nearby and the rock balancings. All the recent rain made for some pretty flowers scattered around. Good for a nice morning walk outside the smoky casino life across the way.

This was a fun and scary drive part of Historic Route 66! When hubby was driving on this mountain pass on our way to Oatman, I had to cover my eyes sometimes but then I would get dizzy so I kept my eyes open LoL! It took us about 45 minutes to reach the town of Oatman driving through an entirely paved road with very few guardrails. I would not attempt driving this road after dark. We didn't visit the school, but the nearby grounds had some neat eclectic artifacts to check out from the past. A lot of the stuff is mining related. Just know it doesn't connect to Harrah's, so getting there means walking out to the street and up a steep road. It's a nice nighttime stroll, but watch your step--I almost ran into a huge tarantula near the Riverside Casino . You can also hear parakeets in the palm trees by Riverside, and there are some areas where employees take smoke breaks. Overall, a scenic and easy way to get around with a few quirks.

Drove for 30+ minutes each night trying to find a parking spot. Ended up parking across the street with boats and trailers. Valet was closed/full. Just 40 minutes from Laughlin, you will be transported from the desert to the Wild, Wild West! When we got closer to the town, we were greeted by the four-legged locals that make Oatman so popular--DONKEYS!!!! I was in awe seeing them walk up to our car and just stare us down. As you continue to drive up the road into the tourist area, there are shops and quick bites to enjoy while visiting. At high noon, there is a shootout with locals so beware! Truly something out of this world and back in time! Don't forget to pick up some cool souvenirs in the shops since you will want to remember this trip. Also, take it easy going up. The donkeys roam around and will sometimes stop in the middle of the road. Take in the nature and cool vibes while exploring. Tip: many of the stores sell donkey treats. To capture great videos and pics, I highly recommend feeding them.

You WILL see a donkey while you are here, it is a for sure. While you are here, enjoy the touristy stores full of donkey inspired items. Do buy the donkey food and feed the donkeys. Please do not bring carrots to feed them. Although the donkeys LOVE them, there are many that have diabetes because of their high sugar intake from the over-indulging on carrots. Visit the museums in town and learn about its mining history. See the hotel and enjoy that small museum as well. Be transported back to the old west through the stories and views. If you are here at the right time, you may even see a reenactment of a gun fight, right on the main street outside the saloon. Use the many photo ops to create memories and be sure to take Route 66 out of town for a whole other adventure! This town is perfect for young and old alike. Be sure to leave yourself a few hours to wonder around. You will be so glad you made the trek!

There are a few launches on Lake Mead, and we tend to head to Princess the most as there seems to be less hustle and bustle and it is closer to the coves we like to snag for the day. You can get an annual pass and that will save you some money. If you are there often it would be worth it. We love the river, however so much more relaxing to find a cove and just chill. We prefer to stay at Princess Cove because it is away from the river and that is where the crowds are. Princess Cove has a boat dock and their is plenty of packing at the hilltop. Please be mindful to pick up all trash to preserve this environment.
