Pat, the owner/hostess, makes you feel comfortable from beginning to end. We stayed in the Library Room which is one of two room on the first floor. It's big, charming and has the best bed ever...I even went home and ordered a topper like we slept on. We spent the evening in the living room enjoying snacks and imbibing with another couple there for the same reason. Breakfast left no one hungry...a 5 FRESH fruit cup, scrambled locally produced eggs and sausage, and baked...yes baked...French toast. (I got the recipe and have made this heavenly dish since.) So the Cottage Bed & Breakfast is a very cute place, it is owned by a very nice couple and they have redecorated this house themselves. I really enjoyed my stay here, I know a lot of people don't like bed and breakfasts, but the owners truly made my stay fun and relaxing. The room also included breakfast, which they will have ready for you if you tell them what time you need to leave. And they will also prepare lunch or dinner for you at an extra charge (and they don't make just anything, they really make a gourmet MEAL!!)

I've stayed here twice with my husband and have had out of town guests stay here several times. The…read morerooms are unique and cozy, the hosts are incredibly friendly folks, and their food is unlike anything else you'll get around here. I just love their little courtyard with the fountain. Staying here feels more like you're in Saint Augustine than sleepy little Monticello. I can't see how they could possibly disappoint you. Bring a sleep mask if you need it pitch black after sunrise. :)
