Arrived on time for appt for rapid antigen test for end of day. Waited only 30 minutes after appt…read moretime. Staff were super friendly and assured me both the rapid test sample and pcr sample they took were covered by insurance. Made appt for self and another but somehow there were 3 appts in their system for the other person and 0 for me but they were able to import my info so test results have each of our names. Had symptoms but also travel scheduled so test results needed to include relevant info in order to be accepted for travel. Specified as such in their online portal but results did not include necessary info. There is a phone number to call so will have to call to get necessary info considering test result allows travel. Update: received test results within 2 hrs but they didn't have time collected. Called 8442639994 option 2 right when they opened at 9 and after 25 min on hold the nurse said she'd add it and in 10 minutes got an updated copy w everything I needed. Once again, very friendly and helpful.

I called SLUCare on the search for a new Primary Care Physician, and they happened to have an…read moreappointment open with Claire Shapleigh in a week, which is uncommon for primary care. I did a quick google and decided to go ahead and check her out, she is a Physicians Assistant which I actually prefer. I saw the same Pediatric Physician my whole life, then switched to Family Medicine where I was another 9 years, so I've been anxious to find someone new in St. Louis where I recently moved. I'll tell you what, Claire didn't disappoint. And to be honest, I think I like her better than my Pediatrician AND first adult physician combined. She was warm and inviting, listened to everything I had to say, had great advice, and was super knowledgeable. She's also trained on Pap smears, so for the women out there, check her out, she's a one stop shop. She would be an amazing provider for anyone. I could go on forever about how amazing she is, but you're just going to have to check her out yourself. If you're on the search for a new primary care provider, look no further, Claire is your girl!

Since SLUCare is associated with St. Louis University School of Medicine, the doctor you see consults with fellow professors, and instructs and mentors students. I think there's a lot of competency and accountability built into a connected system like this, and that makes me more confident about the quality of care I'm receiving. Of course, sometimes it means that an extra doctor or medical student is sitting in on your exam. This may not feel so wonderful if you're shy. In my case, when a couple of young doctors peel back my privacy gown to check me out, it just means I have more material to weave into the tall tale I tell my wife. During last week's visit, I started out with obligatory stops at stations for insurance-billing, registration, and nurse medical history review. Then, since my last dermatologist recently moved out-of-area, I was introduced to Dr. Tarbox, whose manner was just about the best I've ever experienced in a physician. She immediately made me feel comfortable, really listened to me, did the full-body skin check, explained thoroughly what she was seeing, went away while the nurse pricked the needles in to numb me up, then carried on a pleasant conversation while she sliced and bandaged my face and neck. After about a week, you can look at me and not cringe - I am no longer hideous!

I saw my medical oncologist, Dr. Bagegni, with lab work August 8, 2022. I saw my radiation oncologist, Dr. Laura Ochoa, August 18, 2022, checking in the same lobby. This seems to be the normal program in this lobby. I did not need a blood draw at this time. I had great care on both visits.

However the checkin staff at the front desk are rude and non compassionate for dealing with people who are cancer patients. I believe management needs to hear from people like myself and my wife to better understand their patient concerns and frustrations. More importantly they need to put people who work the front desk with better attitudes. Because first impressions last a lifetime and there are plenty of medical providers in the St. Louis market who understand this.

They never call you with test results or any follow ups. You have to call for them and they want you to make an appointment to get them - so they can get another co-pay. Then when you follow up they act like you are an inconvenience. Their only concern is getting a lot of people in and out of the office for more money. Point being you never see the doctor.
