on my recent visit, the dental cleaning service is not good with trainees/temp dental hygienist. They give some estimate for filling service and later after service charged more, when we ask about that they say its just an estimate and you agreed to pay any difference and its related to deductibles. They knew that earlier at the time of estimate it self right? Yes we know estimate is estimate but there may some minor changes but 50% more charges right? Why can't they give us more accurate estimate before service? how can that changes? When I ask them to give exact estimate after checking with insurance, they prefer to cancel appointment than providing more accurate estimate. read more

Be aware! I had an appointment for a deep cleaning due to periodontal concerns. Followed up for additional cleanings and have been charged for those cleanings as "periodontal maintenance". There was nothing unique or more involved with the follow up cleanings than any routine cleaning I have ever had. When questioning the bill, I was told that all cleanings after having a deep cleaning are considered periodontal and billed as such until the doctor indicates that they are not. They were unwilling to call a cleaning a cleaning and unwilling to work with me for future cleanings. Terrible customer service and shading billing practices. read more

It took me months to find an honest dental place. Even though this place is nowhere near where I live, at the time it was near where one of my classes used to be at ACC Cypress Creek. I came here for a routine cleaning and I had that done, x-rays, etc. They filed my dental insurance and I never got any additional "surprise bills" later in the mail for any separate "special cleanings". And for that I thank them. Maybe this isn't something that you have to watch out for in ATX but in Las Vegas, you did. I went to my appointment and wasn't pressured to do any extras. I love that feeling of being able to go somewhere you feel safe and you know you wont get nickel and dimed. Very professional and courteous staff that I spoke with. If you make an appointment months in advance, don't expect them to keep it. They will text you about an hour before the appointment and ask you to change it, which doesn't leave time at all to do so. When you come in to your appointment they will tell you that you're not even in the system. The lady at the front desk (Possibly named Mindy) was also very rude and unprofessional. I've been going to this dentist for 16 years without problem, but it has definitely gone down hill since the owner sold the business to corporate dental. I can't stand the Dentist. I've had way too many experiences that make the dentist an incredibly stressful and frustrating place for me to go. I get anxiety just booking an appointment. Yesterday I felt some pain in one of my teeth and even though I'm paranoid about the dentist, when something feels wrong, I go in right away. Rather than go to the dentist I have been seen for a few years that I've never been impressed with, I reached out to a friend for a recommendation. He connected me with Avery Ranch dental yesterday and I was able to get in this morning to see Dr. DeCoursin. The experience was a 10 out of 10. The staff is polite, friendly, and makes you feel taken care of. There is a clear process in this office and I never felt like I was lost or out of place, everything was explained clearly and effectively. Dr. DeCoursin has the type of doctor temperament that you both feel and hear. She immediately made me feel confident and comfortable. I am transitioning all of my business to this office and setting up a cleaning. Even though it's about 45 minutes away from the house we just purchased, the drive is absolutely worth it. I had a very pleasant visit today! I hadn't had a dental visit since 2013 mostly because of insurance(lack thereof) and so I was expecting the worst for my teeth, but the technician and the dentist told me what was going on, told me ways I can prevent it. They weren't preachy at all and didn't make me feel belittles or anything negative. My doctor was Dr Covalt! Also they broke down how much insurance would cover the cost of future fillings and how much I would have to pay, and the prices are very reasonable. Disclaimer I was not serviced there. What a garbage way to communicate with people. Called many times to make an appointment. Told them I am 8 months pregnant so I'm not interested in X-rays. Ashley the receptionist (I believe that was her name) lies to me and said it's a Texas Law to get X rays. WHAT?! It's the law? I have no problem if it's an internal policy if the office but please do not pressure a pregnant woman to get an X day by lying to her. What kind of business is that. I confirmed that it's a lie by calling and taking to another dentist. I then decided to go somewhere else and asked her if she can just make an appointment for my husband. She claimed she booked him an appointment for the end of June/beginning of July. We never got a confirmation. Called the office today and apparently he doesn't have an appointment. The dentist stopped wearing a mask after he checked on me. While talking to me about my options. I did not notice right away because of the pain I was in. I reported this business already to the city. This is very carless and it was my first and last visit to this place. I warned them ahead of time that I am a high-risk person. I have been very careful and have avoided everyone since this started. Now, this business may have infected me and possibly cost me my life. I will not be visiting this office again, I would encourage others. The dentist was not even five feet away from me while speaking to me without a mask. I have been coming to Avery Ranch Dental for almost 15 years. I moved to a different city and now travel to Cedar Park for them. I just had to go in for an issue with a loose filling. I requested an appointment through the website at 11PM and had a call from them at 9AM to setup an appointment for that day. Dr. Judy is great. She looked at my tooth and found that it and another were actually cracked, and showed me the X-rays. She suggested a couple options, understood my preference for nitrous oxide. She handled all the work, and made sure I was comfortable, as much as possible, through the process. I could not have better happier with my experience. read more

The initial scheduling process was one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a healthcare provider. I was told conflicting or just incorrect information on a number of occasions to where I had very little faith in the competency of the practice before the work even began. The front office staff seems to not be in communication with each other and with the dental staff. The day came to get the work done and everything went seemingly well. That is until two weeks later when the pain in my tooth was still there, and much worse. I was told that the cavity the doctor addressed required a very deep filling and then she reviewed my X-rays a second time with me. To my complete shock she said "I would suggest a root canal for this tooth, I will give you a referral." .... umm what. So you're saying that after I spent two work days coming to appointments and $600 out of pocket ...oops? Upon second review I should have received a root canal instead of a filling? So now here I am in pain, about to have a root canal that I should have had in the first place (which I will again have to pay for and spend time off work for) and I am out $600, pain and time that was all unnecessary. Unnecessary and unwarranted medical treatment, there's a word for that I think. read more

Something did not seem right when another area dentist told me that I needed to have "deep cleaning" (as in cut your gums and clean under them) on a few teeth. I have never had that problem, so I said no thanks and went to Dr. Judy here. She said no way is there anything wrong with your gums or teeth that would require deep cleaning. Definitely no attempt at an upsell here! And she said that other dentist also missed the fact that one of my fillings needed replacing and another had a crack that would now require a crown. She showed me the areas on the digital single-tooth close-ups, and yes, I could see the damage. When Dr. Judy did the filling and crown prep, she provided nitrous oxide and worked really, really fast. Really fast is important to those of us who have a hard time with jaw spasms. I have never seen a dentist be so efficient. The temporary crown fit perfectly, without a bit of discomfort. When the permanent crown arrived, it also fit perfectly and has a wonderfully natural texture. The pricing was also quite fair. Instead of saying there is just one price for a crown, they say it is going to be one price if we have to do the normal tooth structure build up and a much lower price if we don't. I got the lower price, and that speaks to their honesty. My husband also went and greatly liked Dr. Judy. My daughter went to another doctor at Avery Ranch Dental and also had a positive experience. So happy to have found a dental practice where I can stay! read more

I'm one of these people who hasn't been to a dentist in 10 years for a variety of reasons, one being I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to needles and stuff in my mouth. I decided to "break the ice" and give Avery Ranch Dental a shot. I setup an appointment and was given Dr. Lowrance as my Dentist. After my initial cleaning, which went great, Dr Lowrance came in and told me I had quite a few (10) cavities, which really was no surprise. They setup a time for me to come back to get them filled and I made an appointment to try and get them all filled in one go. On the day of, I was incredibly nervous and even nauseous I think due to the anticipation of the appointment. When I got into the office, both Dr Lowrance and her assistant were incredibly patient with me explaining we could go as fast or as slow as I was comfortable with for my fillings. They made sure I was as comfortable as could be, starting off with turning a TV on for me to watch something to relax me before they went to work on me. They then proceeded with the nitrous oxide and never made me feel bad or rushed when I needed to take a bathroom break. They also took their time and went slowly to make sure the different parts of my jaw were numbed appropriately. The work was really straight forward and I was really happy with the work at the end of the day. Getting cavities filled is still not a fun experience and hurts, but the people here made a huge difference for me. With so many doctors out there I feel places really have to distinguish themselves for the rest, and both Dr. Lowrance and her staff did exactly that. I wasn't just some random patient to them and they made me and my concerns feel important. Thank you so much for getting me back on the track of good dental care. read more
