This office got me locked out of iPledge by dragging their feet on labs then made me wait 30 days just to restart. After that? They rescheduled my next appointment an hour before it was supposed to happen and pushed me out another 25 days. That delay could've gotten me locked out again. No urgency. No accountability. Worse, they refused to send a proper prior auth for hospital-based labs, even after I gave them everything they needed. I begged for help for weeks. Staff were rude, dismissive, and downright discriminatory once I pushed back. Then they had the nerve to charge me a $50 no-show fee even though I'm a Medicaid patient (and no, you can't legally do that). I filed formal complaints with the Florida Department of Health and Medicaid. This place treats low-income patients like garbage. Advanced Dermatology should be ashamed of how this location is run.

I ask did you ever verify my insurance. They said it comes back "error". They ask to send my insurance in. I said, I did. They make me go back through my emails to figure out what email I sent to. They realize they never scanned my new insurance into the system(so they never called either I'd assume). So the girl is supposed to verify today. An hour later I get another call to confirm my appointment. I ask again, did you verify my insurance info? The girl has no record of anyone calling me today. She says it says from last week and "error" and then asks me to call my insurance and verify everything. I'm sorry, no! I'm done. This is ridiculous. Poor documentation, poor follow up. Never put my insurance info in, never made the calls. Now I have to do your job? When I first became a patient last year, they put in a fake/invalid email address. They had never asked for it, but wondered why I didn't do the patient do documentation online prior to the appointment. Office staff is a mess. However the Dr is not much better. When I saw the Dr, he was just as bad. Never even introduced himself. So I wasn't sure if staff was doing tests for the dr prior to seeing the dr or what. He had zero answers. I asked for antibiotics and bariatric chamber but was denied both by Dr Kontos. I received one phone call from him since. He doesn't care! I am sorry, but I feel Dr Kontos failed me! I'm not a big fan places that don't give you an estimate of charges over the phone. I understand that plastic surgery can vary widely depending on body type but you should be given at least ballpark estimate before you come in. I feel it's a waste of the doctors time and yours to have to have an in person consultation for a surgery that is more expensive than you are willing to pay. ( I am thin and wanted liposuction of the thighs and hips and I was quoted a price of $9,832.50) This price is not more than I could afford but it is about twice as high as other plastic surgeons in Fort Myers.
