Avi appliance repair responded quickly to my post for a quote on yelp. I called them and was able to get a technician Petr to come the same day to work on or side by side. He arrived as scheduled and although it took a couple of hours to diagnose and repair our Frigidaire he fixed our refrigerator problem. He also generously gave us a thermometer to monitor the temperature. The service cost $350 which felt expensive but it sure was cheaper than replacing all of the food that was in there. Our technician, Leo, was amazing! Not only did he get to our house promptly during the time he was scheduled, but he got straight to work and you could tell he clearly knew what he was doing. He figured out the issue in less than 30 minutes and was able to recommend a path moving forward. Ours ended up being electrical which was good news since that meant we didn't need to get a new washing machine. We have a workaround in the meantime. They do charge a service fee to come out which would apply towards a repair and it wasn't badly priced at all. Highly recommend and will use again. read more

When my dryer stopped working, I called AVI appliance because I have used them twice in the past, once for my dishwasher and again for my stove. Petr came within a few hours of my initial call. He was very meticulous in diagnosing my refrigerator problem. Petr explained where the problem was coming from and was conservative in trying the least costly options first. Very impressed that he did not try to sell an expensive repair. Past service people said I should replace the fridge as it is 22 years old. Hopefully the repairs Petr did will work and extend the fridge life as replacement costs over 10k. Wow, Fantastic service, I called this morning for a built-in Kitchenaid refrigerator not cooling. Leo was great! Diagnosed the problem in less than 5 minutes. Told me to give him a minute while he went to his truck to get the correct tools, came back and had it fixed in less than 10 minutes! Another scam artist from a different company told me I had to buy a new dishwasher, the day before. Then, that same scam artist charged me $110 for the service call. Our Whirlpool above the range microwave went kaput after many years of use and we ordered a new one online from Mayfair, a Sharp microwave. I called Avi Alliance Repair, after reading good reviews on Yelp, and Peter (he told us the company's name is named for his son, Avi) and his assistant came out later the same day. Once he got to our house we realized that the new microwave was a little smaller than the old one but I wasn't concerned about the aesthetics so we proceeded to put in the new microwave. He was able to take out the old machine and put in the new one very quickly but still well done. He made sure it was working and even set the clock. The whole installation cost me $200; I think that's reasonable. Also, we had some questions about other appliances we own and he made some adjustments that needed to be done. I'm writing this review a week after Peter did his work and I have to tell you that the microwave is working excellent and very well installed. I highly recommend Avi Appliance Repair! I found Avi Appliance Repair on Yelp and contacted the business. Peter arrived exactly on time and was very pleasant and presented himself well. I told Peter the problem I was having with my GE oven and stove and he got right after it when he arrived. Peter diagnosed the problem I was having with my broiler and promptly gave me a quote to replace the mother board on my GE stove. He was spot on in his analysis and gave me a quote for replacement of the mother board . He gave me an alternative to consider since my stove is over 12 years old. Follow-up Appointment: During my initial visit, Petr V. mentioned that I might have a small leak in the tubing. However, after the warranty repair it was not detected. So we both assumed it was just the compressor. After a few weeks I noticed the freezer was not at zero degrees. Petr was contacted at 7pm yesterday and I was scheduled for an appointment for today. Petr quoted an arrival time and he was spot on. Petr diagnosed the problem, added stop leak, and topped up the freon. While I fully expected, and was ready to pay for today's service call, Petr said it was covered under his service warranty. I was pleasantly surprised. They quoted me $75 for the job I needed, then they had me send them a picture (that was the exact same as what I had described) and then they raised the price to $300. I don't understand a four times increase when the picture only showed what I had already explained to them. read more
