This is a great pizza place that opened up in the Marq-E Entertainment Center. Totally recommend coming here for a casual dinner option before a movie at the neighboring Regal theater! We came on a Tuesday evening and it wasn't too busy. They have a Tuesday special that includes 1 large 1-topping pizza, 1 medium specialty pizza, and 1 order of focaccia breadsticks, all for $37.99. This is more than enough to feed a family of 4. We came as a group of 7 and ordered an additional medium specialty pizza in addition to this, and everyone left well-fed. For our large pizza, we got the Classic Pepperoni. No complaints here, as it's your standard pepperoni pizza. For our specialty pizzas, we got the South Austin and the Ground Control. The South Austin had a red sauce, prosciutto, goat cheese, and arugula, all drizzled in a vinaigrette. This was delicious, as we've had similar ones to this at other pizza joints around Houston, but I appreciate the touch that Aviator added to theirs. The Ground Control had a red sauce, pepperoni, sausage, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, ham, and ground beef. This is basically a supreme pizza with the addition of ground beef, so think of it the baby of a meat lover's pizza and a veggie lover's pizza. I do really like the crust on their pizzas - a good middle-ground between thin crust and pan pizza. With that said, the crust held up well considering the amount of toppings that came out on our specialty pizzas. The focaccia breadsticks were tasty and the marinara sauce on the side was perfect for dipping. Service was very friendly between the two gentlemen working behind the counter. They brought out our pizzas straight from the oven and cleaned our plates as we finished them. The bar has a variety of beers on draft and a decent wine selection. Happy hour runs until 6pm during the week, which is $1 off drafts and $6 house margaritas. On the night we went, they were out of several of the draft beers - hopefully this is not a regular issue. I tried the happy hour margarita and the Aviator house wine - both were great and a much cheaper alternative to ordering drinks at the movie theater. I'm glad we found this place - I'm sure it will become a regular spot before we hit the movies. Solid pizza spot in the Spring Branch area. Right in the Marq-E plaza, so parking can be difficult at times. Good variety of pizzas to choose from, at varying sizes, and lots of non-pizzas as well. My party didn't order any beer, but it looks like there's a good selection. A few configuration of seats, from booths to elevated tables and bar stools. Pizza came out decently fast. They definitely lived up to the "Draft house" name as there's over 50+ beers on tap. The menu also had some tempting-looking sandwiches and salads that caught my eye. As for the pizza (also customizable), it definitely hit the spot. I tried the meaty all mighty, which came out piping hot, I really liked crispy crust and generous amount of toppings. While the pizza didn't blow me away, it's still solid, especially considering that Houston's pizza scene hasn't set a particularly high bar (agree or disagree?) We split 2 medium pizzas and it was still plenty of food for 3 hungry people. The beer selection was good. I got the shiner summer shandy and it was light, crisp and citrusy. As recommended from our friend, we asked the pizza be extra crispy. Good thing we did because the crust was cooked all the way through but I wouldn't describe it was extra crispy. Because it was a club meeting, I didn't get a chance to explore the menu. I ordered a dairy-free cheese pizza. It was new to me. Although, I didn't care for it much. From what I read, they've been around for a minute and is a popular spot in the Hill Country. The name gives off plane and aviation vibes, but I didn't really see any theme in this restaurant. This location is in the Houston MarqE entertainment complex which has really made some changes with lots of cool new entertainment and food spots. We just finished up at the Immersive Gamebox nearby and was looking for lunch options. This place was in my peripheral so we decided to check it out. It is super spacious inside with lots of seating inside. They also have patios in the front and back of the restaurant. Customer service was really good. The gals up front had no problem giving suggestions and let us try samples of the brews before purchase. I'm sure you can figure out by the name of this place that they specialize in pizza and beer. The pizzas are made to order and they got quite a few options to choose from. If you aren't feeling a pizza, they also got breadsticks, salads, grinder sandwiches, calzones, and dessert. For their beer selection, they proudly serve around 50 Texas beers only. As much as I like beers from all over, it was cool to see them support locally within our great state. We started off with the Zilker salad which had arugula, greens, pecans, cranberries and goat cheese. It was a great salad that went well with the heavy, rich pizzas. Pizza wise, we went with the Flying Garlic and the Meat Almighty with added jalapenos. The pizzas came out piping hot and they looked really good. One thing they do not do here is skimp on toppings. That being said, with all the toppings, they should spread it out more evenly as the pizza was center heavy and floppy. I had to fork and knife it initially until it cooled down a little. Both pizzas were delicious. I did like the crust and the slight char it had. The Flying Garlic was a little different. Yes, garlic is in the name, but we were not expecting whole cloves thrown on the pizza. I am a garlic fiend and had no problem with it, but it might be too much for some. Maybe sliced garlic would be a better choice. The beers were nice and cold. They also have lots of bottled drink options and have Stubborn soda and a few big brands as fountain drinks. Aviator Pizza is a Texas based pizza chain with a handful of other locations I was impressed by the shear amount of options. Firstly, you can sit inside or on the covered patio/beer hall looking space. There are dozens of beers and ciders on tap to choose from. The pizza options are plentiful. Pick one of their signature pizzas, or build your own. Also, there are many size options including a personal pan option The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The pizza itself was fine. I was hoping for a bit more flavor, and the crust tasted a little doughy. The beer was good. And the ambiance was nice. The interior has less space to sit, but feels a little trendier than the exterior covered patio which feels a little bare. Also, each time I've stopped by the patio is virtually unused, and with such an open concept, and it being front and center when you walk up, it looks either unfinished or like it's a ghost town Some tips: There is a loyalty program that will give you 2% back in dining credits if you're a member. The space is large and has a lot of potential. The entrance to the restaurant is actually located on the left side, where upon entrance, is a counter to place your order. It seemed quite lonely on a midweek evening with less than a handful of customers. There is a nice selection of beverages to choose from like cocktails, sodas, and beers on tap. The menu includes items such as sandwiches, calzones, pizzas, and salads, plus a very small selection of apps and dessert. We ordered a soda and a beer to go with our 9" Meat Almighty Pizza and the Italian Grinder Sandwich with a side of sriracha honey brussels served chilled. The pizza had a red sauce base and topped with pepperoni, sage sausage, ground beef, pit smoked ham, and bacon. The size is for an individual without a big appetite. I say that because it is quite small and the toppings do not fit too well on it, as the amount of cheese was minimal. The flavor was also not memorable, and dough that is bread like. Not a fan of the pizza we had but the Italian sandwich was better. The Italian Grinder Sandwich is loaded with salami, pit smoked ham, house pepperoni, mozzarella, lettuce, roma tomato, red onion, mayonnaise, mustard, and Italian dressing. This sandwich was much more flavor packed and appetizing. The bread also held up well. The side sriracha honey brussels were chilled...quite interesting as I've never had my brussel sprouts served cold. Tasted like a slightly spicy and slightly sweet salad. When we sat ourselves, we noticed that each table had a QR code on it...to place an order at the table. I guess that's another way to order at the restaurant. No one really comes by to check on you after you've received your food and drink. You can watch the kitchen through the windows right next to the booths. With an aviation theme in restaurant, I didn't see a story or anything else to go with the vibe except for walls with airplane photos, so I am not sure what the restaurant is trying to go for. While our experience wasn't particularly special, it wasn't awful either...just wished that it could've been more memorable. I'm not yearning to head back anytime soon but if someone invites me to give it another shot, I won't refuse. read more

2nd time here, will be the last. Decided to grab a pizza here before a movie. Stood in line to place an order. Got up to the register and the employee walks away, ok seems he needs to take food out. A few mins go buy, he comes back apologizes says he will be right back. Another 3-5 mins goes by, still waiting, he's still in the back. At the same time see a bunch of other employees who could be delivering to tables just walking around with nothing in their hands. Ok well, I guess it's Red Robin night. Solid pizza with a great, friendly staff. We came by for an early dinner on a weeknight and found a few families already inside around 5 PM. There's a lot of space inside the restaurant with many large tables for big groups. There's also a really nice covered outdoor area with TVs as well. You can order at the front but they also have QR codes at each table where you can order on your phone so you don't have to wait for a waiter to come by. We tried the house salad and a large custom pizza. The salad was $11 but was enough for maybe 2-3 people to share. Tasted fresh and was a nice side/app! The large pizza was enough to feed ~2-3 adults. The pizza dough and sauce is not overly salty and actually had more of a sweet flavor to me. I enjoyed it and it came out pretty fast! The price is a little high for pizza but nice to have a decent pizza joint not too far out of town. Probably a nice place to come hang with friends and have some beers as well. Can't tell if the very large tables made the pizza itself look small but for ~$25/pizza I would've expected a larger pie. The staff was very friendly and we came with two small children. My second time at this location, and while it seems like they've gotten the texture and overall feel of a calzone down (not too soggy), they still forget to check if items are added or excluded by the customer. Because of this, my partner had to wait until everyone was basically all done with their food before eating. Additionally, they could improve on the service aspect of bringing out a dessert last - if a table has ordered salads, pizzas/calzones, and a dessert, why bring that out before all the entrees are at the table? Lastly, there was an obnoxious drilling on the ceiling going on for the 2+ hrs we were there. Talk about an uncomfortable dining experience. Hopefully these are just "early opening" jitters.
